No offence but I think it's kind of grows. Not because he's black but because he's way older then Tifa and because he's like a father figure to her.

but, anyway, the thing about this coupling... I don't see it working not because of race or age, but just because Barret doesn't seem like someone who would love Tifa. Probably a guy who would just want to do her, but not really love her or have any serious relationship with her, you know?
Plus, I'm Pro CloTi... Open to other couples, but this one I just can't see

i had never really considered it until the other day. I was reading a post by someone who thought they were married and i remembered that my brother originally thought they were married too, until he got further unto the game.
I think they look good together, but you guys are right it may not be the most functional or romantic relationship ever.
Besides the age difference isnt that bad. My grandfather was 36 years oler than my grandmother (kinda gross) so the tifa/barret differnce doesnt seem that large to me.

I don't think Barret would be the kind to just do her and leave, he seems to be too enthraled in the fight against Shin-Ra. Plus he's too much like a father to everybody.

Since he has Marlene to take care of, I think he has alot of respect for the female gender. Besides, he's still in love with his deceased wife! But I like the coupling. I think that Barret and Aeris seem better together though!

I would even go as far as to say father figure. More like cousins to me. Its a cute concept... but Barret is too constantly on the move for Tifa. Tifa very much benefits with a settled in life-style and has a tendancy to emotionally depend on her companion. Barret would be almost as destructive to her emotionally as Cloud is.

I agree with most of you here. Barret seems to be more of a father figure-- and I DO agree with Jhay. Barret's more of a person who'd just want to "do" her and leave. When I really think about it, I don't think he'd do something like that to Tifa (and I don't think she'd let him for that matter) but he does seem like that type of person. I also agree with the 'someone' that said Barret is still in loved with his deceased wife. So I don't think he'd make a romantic spot in his heart for any other girl (Though, I'm not saying it's impossible)
One point that could be in support of this pairing, is that Barret would definitely trust Tifa with Marlene, and that's it. (In my eyes)
