http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oJ9muxXSUI&NR though this is very recent (there are some memebers for morning musume, and their is akiko wada), this will quickly fade. what child today will listen to this? i will, but who else? my does my heart bleed. our culture slowly is fading, our population ages. BUT! there is hope in each thing we do! the population, has gained some weight, and their are plans to try and increas fertility. not mention, the government is shipping in foreigners (a phrase which here means giving them free naturlaization) so that people can breed! soon japan will have more people and it will be less racist, and fertile again. but culture, what can we do? i could open a school but: one im too young 2:i do have the right things to get such a job. 3: i need money 4: i can i always buy one of the schoosls that i see closing so much. *sigh* my, times have changed.....

Hmm, I can't say that song did much for me. xd In the beginning it was okay... but it got weird a little later. But it is based in culture? I know that traditional Japanese singing is very different from Western music. I've heard some, and it did take me a little while to get used to it, but now I like it, usually. I have a CD that I like to listen to. And once we listened to a tape of Bon festival music, which was really fun for me. It's different from what I'm used to, but different is a wonderful thing!
I think it's really awesome that you want to work to preserve your culture. I hope your wishes come true and the Japanese people don't lose their uniqueness! It's fascinating for foreigners.
It's funny that you said "so they can breed". Breed is usually only used when referring to animals. xd

I thought it sounded nice. I didn't understand alot of the words but it was good. Then again I also listen to clasical music so maybe I'm not the best judge.

I saw some shows like that on TV when I was in Japan. I love enka. It is sad when it seems like your culture is fading, and I hope enka does not totally disappear. There is also something to be said about the evolution of culture. I think it's also good for cultures to adapt (slowly) as time goes on, and I think if it is slow, you wont totally lose your culture, but individual prominence/significance of various parts may shrink into more of a background thing.

because it seems a lot of people can become popstars easily.

I've already spent years helping keep American traditions alive. I hope to have money someday to open up some schools. Your sentence makes sense. I've seen worse writen by english speakers.

I like it actually. I was wearing a yukata today for Halloween (I love it so much so I wear it whenever I can) and I just now marveled at how well they can put them on. It is HARD! I looked so messy that it wasn't even funny.
The kimono were so pretty too! If we visit Japan, I'm going to earn a million dollars beforehand and buy a kimono shop. ^^ Now...let's plan how I'm going to earn that money.
The music to that song sounded sort of untraditional though...O_o

You may not think this of me, but I actually like this song. Sure some may say the music seems untraditional, but the beat of the song did have tradition. And I usually hear this kind of music when I watch that New Years Eve special 紅白製.
