This is a subject that is a little hard to explain, unless you understand. This subject also has a very broad "base" (for lack of a better word), meaning this doesn't just apply to Wicca. I guess the best way is to ask straight out: do you believe in Inner Demons? I say inner meaning inside of you, which is sort of like your consciences. But do you believe that these "inner demons" can manifest into anything other than your own personal turmoil?
I just want to get a second opinion on this matter so that I can help put a friend's mind at ease.

*Note: Keep in mind that Demon's are not neccessarily (spelling?) bad. While some think for themselves, and know what consequences will result from their actions, many simply act on instincts. If you would like me to expand on that, feel free to ask.

Well me personally i dont think inner demons means that there is a demon controlling our every move but the struggle with choices that we all have to make. Well me on the other hand inner demons in wicca is dealing with in my terms negativity and how that affects everything we do like the relationship(s) with our families, friends and even co-workers.

But in all Inner demons are nothing to worry about

Yes.

I'd leave you all with a short answer like that just to emphasize the point, as usually in my posts I tend to drivel on with elaborations. I've got a few clarifiers though that I just can't leave off the post.

An "inner demon" may actually be found outside of you. Ask yourself an honest question: how often do you actually admit your flaws? Are you even aware of your own flaws and limiatations? Most of us are not. The best way to become aware of them often is to look at any insults we level at other people or to look at what we despise in other people. From these things you can get a picture of the demon... the things which are your bane and yet often are things you hold yourself. The things we hate we fear to death of becoming. When the thing we hate is too close to what we are, that's uncomfortable. At that point then you have to wrestle with that inner demon and accept that it's there, but not let it overtake you.

I am not sure this can be done, truthfully. Where one problem is solved another usually replaces it. That is no cause to be pessimistic about inner demons, though. It means you have to remain vigilant and aware of yourself, your weaknesses, your hatreds, and how they are ALL a reflection of YOU, not others.

[Aside - great topic by the way]

Ah, I understand that. While I am a person that is not afraid to admit I AM human, and I DO have flaws, my friend is nothing like that. Let's just say she's just a tad too proud...for her own good. Many of her inner demons are, in a way, results of her past (which she refuses to admit was a complete mess), and she puts on this front that's just so frustrating.
In the end, when worse comes to worse, she explodes and becomes a COMPLETELY different person. Hence why I asked. But I will try to relay the advice you've posted to her. Thanks so much.

Demons of the past can sometimes be the most powerful. We all make some pretty shitty decisions at some point in life... things we regret having said, done, etc. It isn't bad to give a nod to these things but hopefully the person is able to learn from them and not let it take them down so many notches that they end up with low self-esteem or worse, self-hatred. After all, our mistakes have made us who we are as much as our good choices, eh?

Too true. Many people ask what I would change about my past if I could, but I always say I wouldn't change a thing. My past is nothing short of utter chaos, but I was chosen to live this life--and that's what I plan on doing. Every choice I made--good and bad--brought out the strength in me. I wouldn't give that up for the world.
