Zyanya or Zyan as people had starting calling her was sitting, in the tall grass arms held to her body her eyes flicking in every direction watching the numerous insects flit about in the cool auttum air. She was stuck wearing the oversized jacket again, not that it wasn't a good thing, the morning air was very cold.
She turned her head to make sure her mama was still sitting on the bench reading her book. She had taken the mantis girl out for another walk cause she seemed convinced that Zyan needed the excercise. Zyanya ate a LOT but didn't seem to gain anyweight. Jayoku couldn't figure out why.
Zyan turned her head back watching the insects, each one looked so interesting, they were all unique, with wings and feelers and pincers...they also looked delicous. Her head turned as she heard something unfamilar, her large eyes seemed to never blink.

Treading lightly through the grass was none other than D-corp's scorpion boy, barefoot and clad in some baggy garments himself. A beanie was also pulled down over his head, his pointed ears poking out from beneath it and seeming rather large without his hair falling over them. He froze suddenly, all four of his eyes scanning the area. He got the feeling he wasn't alone.
He had decided to go for a walk without Kei for once, and was thus on edge even more than you'd suppose. After all, most of his problems spawned from Kei being around.
He squinted through the grass, seeming to spot something.. He crept forward uncertainly, and then relaxed when he saw it was a girl. His extra legs tapped along his sides as he moved forward, "U-um, h-hello!" His voice cracked slightly on the last word. He offered a shy smile.

Zyan seemed to be sitting perfectly still, her eyes fixed on Nero as instinct got the better of her. She wasn't really there if she wasn't moving. But her feeler wavered and she blinked finally.
"H..hewo." She replied a bit shly, feeling like she had been caught in the act of doing something wrong. She blinked and then crawling on her knees her extra legs helping her crawl gracefully if slowly through the grass. She stopped in front of Nero and peered up at him, it was like she was taking in his worth and weither he was dangerous to her or not.
She noticed though he had little legs similar to her own, her hand reached out to touch the very tip of one of them. "Are you a mwantis two?" She asked even though he hand pincers for hands...she looked to her own hands, nope...definately not the same.

The boy stood, immobile as he was approached, and he had to struggle to keep from flinching as she reached out towards him. Perhaps he was a little too nervous, this girl certainly didn't want to bring him any harm... He smiled warmly at her, leg shifting slightly beneath her touch.
"U-um.. N-no.." He shook his head. So she was a mantis? He knew what those were. He had seen them in the books and stuff... They were pretty neat bugs, although they looked a little scary and ate things. But this girl looked really nice, so he didn't let that worry him too much. "I-I'm a sc-scorpion."
He took a fondness immediately to the way she spoke, reminded slightly of his own impediments he had when he was younger (besides his stutter, which he had yet to lose.) He examined her extra legs without touching them, all four eyes blinking. They were kind of the same. That was nice. He had never met someone who was, as the other kids put it, "monsterish" like him.

Zyanya paused and offered a small smile her eyes closing as she did so. Her little laugh as breif and light hearted.
"Whad a scorpain?" she asked standing up slowly and withdrawing her arms to her chest out of habit. Her feelers moved a bit more as if testing the wind. "You have cwas.." she continued pointing at the pincers that represented Nero's hands.
"Y...ouu...you..wond eat mwe will yous?" She asked a sudden fear filling her eyes, though her tone was more curious than afriad. Her sudden soft ahh of excliamation broke her thought of being eaten as she noticed Nero's tail.
"yo..you gwot a twail!" She said as she tottered to Nero's side and pointed a finger at the obvious tail she was referring to.

The older boy smiled, immediately coming to like this young child. She was a funny and cute little thing, and she was so similar to him. "A-A sc-scorpion is... K-kinda like... Umnn..." He shifted uncertainly, wondering how to explain it. "Th-they live i-in the desert a-and... Th-they're inv-invertibrates..." Wait, she wouldn't understand that... Ugh.. "U-um... L-like bugs, kinda."
He watched her curiously as she rose, and then nodded, clacking his claws idly. "U-uh-huh. Th-they're kinda stupid..." Life was hard when you had claws, really... But..
He blinked, and then shook his head, "N-nope, I won't eat y-you." He replied rather casually, as if used to hearing that question. In reality, he was. He looked like something that wanted to eat you, he supposed... He patted her on the head gently with one of his claws, starting as she noticed his tail. He turned to look at it, "Y-yep!" He waved it back and forth idly, and then curled it back in towards his back.

Zyanya let out a squeak as his tail moved, her large eyes fallowing its every slight movement. When she felt the pressure on her head she looked up and gave another cute smile.
She reached up wanting to take hold of the pincer that had patted her but then she withdrew hastily. Afraid she might snag Nero with her barbed arms. She looked abashed but only for a moment.
"You cwas wook stwong. Can you cwut things with dem?" She asked then suddenly jumping to another topic. "I don have a twail I ahve wingis dough." She said turning around to try and show him the wings taht were being partiually covered by her very large coat.

The preteen blinked as the young girl recoiled before touching his claw- she didn't seem afraid or anything like some of the other kids were, why did she do that? "I-it's okay.. Y-you can t-touch it." He extended the pinsir slightly, but then she was off on some other topic. His extra legs twitched slightly, wrapping further around his belly as he looked to his claws. "Y-yeah.. Th-they cut l-lots of things..." And then the subject changed yet again.
He tilted his head, and then let out a small gasp. She had wings! He had always wanted wings. He found them absolutely fascinating. "W-wow!" He peered in closer at her wings, stooping forward a bit. "Th-they're pretty. I-I like 'e-em." He informed her, before giving a matter-of-fact nod. They were.

Zynya posituvely beamed at the compliment. "YOu weawy like em?" She asked almost hoping from foot to foot, "I cant fwy yet though. " She continued and then stopped and looked up to Nero.
"you...You don't mind if I twouch your cwas?" She asked little a bit abashed, "But...b..ut what if i hwurt you??" She looked very worried about this fact and pointed with one hand her clawed like hands and the barbs on her arms.
"These are ...bad, they get caught in my cwothes and it hurts my mama when she hugs me...and..." Tears started to gather in her large pale eyes, "I dwon wanna hurt pweaples I wike."

The preteen nodded, "Th-they're great! I-I like th-them a l-lot... Y-you'll be a-able to fly o-one day, a-and I bet th-that'll be a l-lot of f-fun." He would love to fly. He dreamed of it once or twice, but alas. He could barely swim, how could he possibly get up and go soar the skies? He could get a good fall, though, not that he wanted one of those..
Nero looked confused, not quite used to people being worried about hurting him. He was a creature built with a great defense, after all. It was nice, though. It eliminated any possibility for a "scary" factor this girl may ever have been given in the future.. She was nice. "N-no, it's o-okay. You w-won't hurt m-me.."
He frowned as she prepared to cry, getting down on his knees before her, "I-I know h-how th-that is... I-I have to be v-very careful n-not to hu-hurt people with m-my claws a-and my st-stinger, o-or else th-the people I c-care about can get r-really hurt.. B-but you w-won't hurt m-me. P-promise." He gave her a warm, reassuring smile and then moved to pull the girl into a hug. "M-my skin i-is r-real hard." His armor-like skin had taken many blows, and was even a bit thicker than many of the D-techs had expected.

Still sniffeling Zyan felt the embrace of the hug adn burried her face into his chest. It wasn't often that she could hug someone without having to worry about causing pain.
"y..you sure?" she asked looking up at him and pulling a hand up to wipe the tears that had leaked out. And when he described his own worries she felt a bit better. If Zero could handle this kind of problem so could she.
With a sniffle she tapped a clawed finger against his pincer. It was awkward since she was in a hug but she had managed to turn a bit. "You... so nice Newo." She said the tears finally going away, "Can.....can we pway togever?" she asked looking up and noticing he had four eyes.
She blinked but said nothing about them. The smaller ones were cute, but then again her own eyes were very large and most people couldn't look at her beacuse her iris seemed to almost be nonexistant.

"Y-yep, it's fine!" The boy smiled. He understood the fear of hurting someone you cared about... He remembered the one time he had hurt his daddy rather badly on accident... His daddy and Simon were the only two who handled his dangerous traits casually. He knew how nice it was to feel someone not be afraid of you hurting them, and not being afraid of hurting them yourself.
He eased up on the hug a little bit as she went to tap his pincir, and as he assured his armor-skin held up just fine beneath the claw. He relaxed as she calmed down, and lowered his arms finally, settling on the back of his legs. His smile grew somewhat sheepish after she called him nice, and he gave a shy shrug and cast his eyes to the ground. He wasn't really all too nice, but.. He glanced back up as she spoke again, and then he nodded, "Of c-course."
Perhaps he was a little "old" to most people for playing, but he didn't mind really. She was a nice kid. He'd play with her. "Wh-what do you w-wanna pl-play?"

Seeing that her clawed fingers didn't hurt him inthe slightest she gave a sigh of relief, her hair bobbed around her face as she turned to look at Nero again. She felt much better now, since her was tough skinned or something he couldn't be hurt by her claws, she would still be careful about her arm barbs though.
"Uh..." she tried to think of a game they could play together, she wasn't much for actiev games like tag, it made her too hungery. She liked to conserve energy just in case.
"I will pway anythang you would pway." She said giving a curt nod of the head, surely Nero must know lots of games they could play. She was still getting use to being around people, having only met Nero, Jayoku, Chath, Valen and Tyven each has such distinct personalities about them the wide range still made ehr feel uneasy.

The older boy tilted his head, pondering on what game he knew that they could play... Hmm... It had been quite awhile since he had played anything with anyone, really. "W-we could pl-play hide-a-and-se-seek." He offered thoughtfully, tapping his chin with a claw idly. "O-or... Hmm.." He didn't have any toys or anything on him...
"W-we could d-dig." Not many children enjoyed that one, but he sure did. He was made to burrow, after all, and he loved doing it. "O-or.. Hum... I-I dunno.. W-we don't have a l-lot of stuff t-to play wi-with out h-here.." They couldn't color- thank God, it was so hard to do with his claws- or read or play ball- again thank God- or play with toys... Or play the games he did with Chath... Or... Hmm.

Zyanya listened to the games he suggested and though Hide and seek sounded fun, she could somewhat tell Nero really liked the idea of digging. She looked down at her hands, the claws could help loosen up dirt.
"Wets us dwig!" She said with a smile, "Do I jwust use my hands?" she asked staring at Nero's pincers, they must be really good for digging. She then squatted down and pressed her fingers into the soft dirt and pulled up a handful. the dirt was cold, but it was an intersting feeling to watch the grains trickle out between her fingers.
