Guide To Quests

Quests are a touchy subject with pamura, well more so with Infinite Duck. Quests should be something you try your hardest to obtain. Give it your all type thing. Thus why we have Quests, Goals and Longings. Quests will be broken up into two parts. Offical and Unoffical. Offical quests mean you are questings for a pamura over other pets and you accept donations. Unoffical mean you are questing, but not giving it your all. Pamura would be pleased if you didn't accept donations for your quest. Why? Because it's hard to tell when you bid 500,000g on an auction who's funds your using. We aren't being mean, we just want you to treat your donators fairly and remember that questing isn't about getting stuff handed to you. It's about work.


Offical Quest Information

An Offical Quest means you are questing and working very hard to get your goal of pamura. This means the majority of your funds will go towards your goal. This is not becuse we are greedy and want your golds, it's because quests are suppost to be worked for. In our opinion you just don't make a quest thread and say 'Give me moneys!" Please watch your spending when on this type of quest. If another pamura owner sees you are spending high amounts of gold on other things (like enough gold to finish your quest.) Your Quest might get locked, and denied. Then you would be expected to return all donations. Our suggestion is to never make an Offical Quest.


Unoffical Quest Information

If you aren't sure if you want a pamura more than other pet, or you want freedom with your golds, this is the quest type for you. Unoffical quests are to announce "I want a pamura, I do want to work, but there are other pets I want to work for too." We generally want you not to accept donations in these types of quests. If you are accepting donations please document your quest funds and an estimation of your current funds. This let's all your donators know, you aren't using their money. If you were using your donations for other things, that would be a scam.


Reporting Quests/Questers

When you catch someone not following the quest rules, please let them know over PM. If the situation doesn't change or things get worse please contact Infinite Duck by PM or AIM. You can report quests that are not properly marked or documented. You can also report a concern of over spending in some cases. These should go right to Infinite Duck along with the link to where you saw the spendings.


What the hell? You can't do those things?!

Yes I can. It's my shop. You can call my rude, you can call me evil. When I first joined gaia and quested for an AFK, I was expected to have NOTHING after getting the AFK. That includes clothing on my avatar. At the time AFK's were a whole 50k, but I scartched and saved and bumped my way to it. I sold off half my avatars clothing that I had worked for just to make it. And did it feel good? Oh yeah. I was very proud.

Quests today aren't like that. You just make a thread and hope people give you money. That's not questing. If you want something, you give it you all. We don't expect you to sell your avatars clothing and items or your secret stash of letters, but we do expect you to try. I don't want you to tell everyone that you are questing for a pamura and need 200,000g than bid 200,000g on an auction. That's not fair to the people who donate to your quest. It's cheating them. If you don't like how we do quests in pamura. Don't quest.

Guide to Longings

Longings are just that, a longing for something. They aren't quests. A longing could be for anything such as: Breedings, petpets, pamura items, tribes, new features, new threads/forums, etc. Longings are to bring your wants and dreams visible. How is pamura supposed to know what you want, if you don't tell us?

FAQs

Can I change my quest type?

Yes you can. You can change your quest from Unoffical to Offical. It's frowned upon to change your quest from Offical or Unoffical. It kinda says, "I give up!" or "I don't really want to quest." But we'll understand if you made a mistake or if something comes up.


OMG! I can't keep track of all my funds from my quest funds. I don't want you to think I'm not questing right! Please don't ban me!

Not a question, but I see your point. If you can't keep your quest funds from your spending funds make another account as a mule or a quest account. Send the funds for your quest there, so you know they are safe and you won't accidently spend any.



A shop I really want a pet from is having a flatsale, but I spend my budget/extra funds. So-and-so said I could use their donation for the flatsale, can I?

Yes you can. You need to get the donator to PM Infinite Duck giving you permission to use that doantion for other means. It's as simple as that. The reason we want you to have the donator PM is to make sure you aren't lying. I don't think anyone would risk lying about something like that, but you never know.

Do you take donation items and letters from bribes and what guide to you use?

I do, and I use the guide of Duckie! What's the guide of duckie? Simple. Go to the market place and find the lowest buy now of your letter. And use the following formula:

If under 15k
Lowest buy now - 1k

If under 49k
Lowest buy now - 2k

If under 149k
Lowest buy now - 5k

If under 500k
Lowest buy now - 10k

Example: Bob's letter is found for 48k on the market place. I would take the letter for 46k as I believe that is a suitable selling price (but most likely I'll keep it.) The market changes frequently, so check it often and before you bribe. For auctions I will price, using this guide before hand and the bid prices will be based off that.
