After observing the sprites of the cows and bulls, I have come to a strange conclusion. The Black Bulls are mutants.
They
have
TWO
tails.

I also noticed some odd things, dealing with the URLs of cows.
Observe the URLs of these, and other, cows:
As you can see, it ends with worldmap_cow2a.gif, meaning that there could be worldmap_cow2b.gif, and possibly more types.
Also, looking at the URLs, it is concluded that the cows will, indeed, take some part in H2K6.

It can't be a glitch. If you compare it to the Brown Bull, there is a distinct difference. They followed the same template to create the Black Bulls, but also added an extra animated tail for 1 frame.
