Uh... it's a freaking maze of bushes with fountains and statues in it, and blood sucking ferrets everywhere. You can't get any more out of us. We don't know what it is either... Now, get lost, literally.

Kana had heard news of some sort of Halloween party and, being the curious neko she was, couldn't help adding this place to her list of areas to explore. Of course, it was bumped to the top of the list, which was why she was there now.
She didn't have a costume of any sort, and was still dressed in her black sleeveless shirt, and knee length shorts of the same color. It was a little chilly outside, but she ignored it the best she could. Her dark hair was in a ponytail, random strands falling down around her face and shoulders. Her jewerly consisted simply of a silver locket around her neck, and a bracelet on each wrist.
She glanced around, her ears perked attentively as her wide blue eyes stared into a maze. At the entrance were two white gargoyle statues, which she now approached, and paused just in front of the right one.
She ran her pale hand along one very lightly, her head tilted to one side. Then she dropped her arm back to her side, peering into the entrance of the maze. For once, the childish eighteen year old was not smiling. She had an almost blank look on her face, with a tiny hint of irritation. She wanted to enter, but was afraid to do so alone. Thus, she remained standing just at the entrance, not moving except for her black tail, which was flicking slowly behind her.

A small, black fox was trotting through the grounds to the maze, where it stopped and began the unpleasant task of morphing. It started strangely, all the limbs started stretching and growing, nails shrinking and flattening against the fingers. The tongue shrand to a human size and the eyes grew, turning a light electric blue. Then fur started receding into the body which soon turned upright, spine changing shape to accomodate. The fur was replaced by semi formal clothing, smokey gray slacks and a white button up shirt with black unpolished shoes. Then the hair on his head grew out forming white bangs and mid length hair. He then finished the other aspects of the morph and noticed the strange neko girl. "Bonjour..." He said simply and quietly, unsure of what else to say.

Kana blinked a couple times, hand on the edge of a bush now as she peered further into the maze. She was actually standing on her toes as if hoping to see better, though there wasn't really anything to see. She still had that slight face of irritation as her tail continued flicking in random directions behind her. Her bare feet flattened back into the grass as she stopped trying to see and stood straight, letting out a small sigh.
But then she froze, her eyes slightly wide as she sniffed the air softly. A fox...? She turned, eyes widening further as she saw someone there. Only, they were... changing. She blinked several times in confusion, crouching down so she was on the same level as the person, and then rising as he did, so they were always at the same height. Well, at least until he'd finished changing. Then he was taller than her.
She stared up at him silently for a few seconds, and then blinked again, letting her eyes return to a normal width. Her ears perked, then tilted towards him when he spoke. "...hi!" she cried suddenly, a broad smile splitting across her face. It'd been a shock too, that he'd spoken in French. Her best friend from Ria had been French... She pushed away the thought though, smiling cheerfully.

"Uh.... Hello madamiouselle... My name ees Duo..." He mumbled nervously, reaching out a hand in greeting. "Um... Was are you doing out here?" He asked curiously, his heavilly accented voice quieter than death itself. He had seen animals, and he had changed into them, but he had never seen a girl with real cat ears on her head. This was a whole new thing to him.

Kana grinned, extending her hand to shake his. He spoke quietly, but her ears tilted towards him, allowing her to catch his words. Then, after another second spent figuring out what he'd said, she glanced back at the entrance to the maze and pointed her free hand towards it. "A maze," she said excitedly. "I wanted to go in!" Then she stopped, looking back at him. She didn't want to explain why she wasn't going in. Well, she would if he asked... but until then she'd keep silent. "What are you doing?" she asked, equally curious, if not more.

"What I'm doing ees meeting someone... Und asking why zey won't go into a labrynth alo-" Duo said while walking in the maze and was tackled by one of the wierd blood sucking ferrets that had been in the maze. He wrestled around with it, keeping one hand on it, causing him to absorb the DNA of the animal. Afterwards, he drew a knife and fought it to the ground, slitting its throat. "Well... I see why..." He responded after dealing with the ferret. "Zat was not at all pleasant..." He muttered, digging up as much ground as he could with his hands and burying the ferret. He had a thing about killing other animals, seeing as he had been an animal on plenty of occasions. Therefore, he at least gave the ferret a proper grave. "So... Why not go in together?"

Kana watched him, her large eyes following as he began heading into the maze. Her ears were still tilted towards him, taking in what he was saying. She was quickly getting used to his accent, and rather proud to find that she was. But then she jumped in alarm, when he suddenly cut off as something slammed into him. She took one quick step forward, and froze as she saw him wrestling with it.
One of her hands moved up, covering her mouth and nose, just leaving her wide eyes in view. They snapped shut when he slit the animal's throat. She smelled the blood easily, but opened her eyes again when the scent became muffled. She saw he'd burried it underground and sighed quietly before moving towards him. "Um, o-ok.." she stammered uncertainly, her eyes flicking nervously around the maze. She wasn't quite as keen upon entering anymore, but part of her still refused to leave.
So she crept up beside him, still nodding her head as if she didn't even realize she was. Why would they have creatures attack you? She'd thought it would be something like a haunted house... Though, that was probably why she hadn't gone in. Her instincts warned her it was dangerous. She blinked, and then glanced back up at him. "...I'm Kana," she said suddenly, realizing she'd failed to introduce herself.

"Nice to meet you Kana..." Duo said quietly. He noticed that she didn't seem to like seeing anything dealing with blood because she had closed her eyes and covered her nose and mouth when he was attacked and killled the fiend. "So... Eh... What would you wish to do?" He asked quietly.

"Nice to meet you!" Kana cried happily, and then paused for a moment, peering past him and into the maze again. Then her face gained a somewhat determined expression, but it was almost funny at how quickly it appeared and how childishly she seemed when she held it. "I still want to go in!" she exclaimed, more loudly than necessary. She couldn't give up so quickly!
Besides, she could defend herself! She could hear or smell things coming, and blast them away with her wind so she wouldn't have to hurt them. But then she paused, realizing something. "Is there... a normal haunted house anywhere?" she asked, blinking a couple times. She hadn't actually explored this area much yet. The maze had caught her attention, so she'd stopped by it and hovered nervously around the entrance until he'd come along.

Yellow Converse brushed aginst the dew smothered grass as it clung to the long and lean figure's blackpants. Pale, delicate seeming hands stuffed themselves into his pockets. His multi-colred shirt illuminated the darkness with it's bright and dark colors. Black and yellow sleeves, white and yellow body, and a black ruffle thing clinging around his shoulders with a yellow cloth tied around his neck. Yellow painted lips curved into a smile as he spotted two others, lavender eyes gleaming brightly in the moonlight. A yellow star had been entwined into his hair, as well as a lock of his hair tied neatly with a yellow string. I guess you could call it a costume, but he would wear these sort of things every day.
Lavender orbs glanced at the two figures with a non-chalant smile, hands still stuffed into his pockets. He shrugged softly, three yellow painted stars just becoming noticable. Shirt clung to his form, showing off his slightly muscular chest but he took no attention to it. "Hola!" he exclaimed loudly as it vibrated throughout the moonlit sky, drifting off into a weak and pitiful whisper. "I'm Mathaniel, but you can just call me Nat."he said firmly wih a friendly tone, flicking back a few stray strands of black locks with small twitch of his head. He looked down, noticing the freshly upturned soil. He decided to ask no questions and tried to come up with something else to say. "Wanna go in?" he asked, lavender eyes glancing towards the Maze entrance.

Kana's ears twitched, hearing the sound of approaching footsteps through the grass. Her own bare feet spun around slightly as she turned to see, blinking large blue eyes a couple times at the somewhat oddly dressed male who was appproaching. Though, she kind of liked his clothing. She grinned to herself, deciding she'd dress herself up like that sometime soon. She kept silent for now, just watching him until he'd approached, and then she blinked again when he loudly greeted them, her black cat tail curling around her waist.
A moment later she laughed, nodding her head. "Hello Nat!" she cried, lifting a pale, clawed hand in the air and waving it slightly up and down. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Kana!" Her hand extended for a handshake and while it was still held out, she turned and glanced over her shoulder back towards the maze. Her smile vanished, once more slipping into the oddly childish determined expression. "Yes! I want to go!"
Everything she said at the moment was spoken more loudly than needed. She was excited and scared at the same time, and happy she'd met two people so quickly, and all the emotions mixed together so she was almost shouting.

"Bonjour..." Duo said quietly stuffing his hands in his pockets. "So... Why zon't we go in now?" He asked, taking a few steps into the maze until he reached the center, which was about a hundred yards from the entrance but in a straight line. Multiple paths were carved in the hedges, creating a circle at the center. "I zhink we're supposed to find our way out ze other side!" He shouted back to the two. He looked at a gargoyle lined fountain that was in the center of the fork and examined the gargoyles more closely. "Zis looks more like eet belongs in a cathedral..." He commented.

Nat shook her hand firmly with a friendly smile, his adorable face illuminated by the moond hanging above. He squeeled excitedly, tossing his hands into the air with a small jump. "Let us go!" he exclaimed, pointing into the maze with a determined like expression, though he was only joking. He then smiled, stuffed his hands into his pockets, and made his way towards the entrance. "No, we're supposed to get lost and be eaten by rabid ferrets things." he replied to Duo with a playful roll of his eyes. His eyes truly did sparkle at night, but he preferred them during the day when they became the lightest violet, almost a pale pink.
Nat then seemed to totally change character. His upper body leaned back slightly, his face became expressionless except a rebellious touch, and eyes became a darker shade in color. Orbs wandered off somewhere else, lips formed into a pouty, careless mold, and his body seemed a bit more tan. This sort of thing was normal with Nat. His appearence and personality could change in a second without him noticing. It was a strange thing, but humurous to watch. When he was childish, he was adorable. When he was apathetic, he seemed a bit rebellious and that caught the eye of others. He was a bit odd, but it was genetic. And sometimes he thought it gave him an advantage.

Kana turned, looking at Duo for a moment as she nodded her head. Then her ears twitched and her head jerked back around to face Nat as she heard him squeal. But she just grinned, exclaiming as well. "Yeah, let's go!" She started after him, back towards the maze, eyes widening slightly when she saw Duo had entered without them. "Hey, no fair!" she cried, bounding after him and Nat. She blinked when Nat spoke and rolled his eyes, and then glanced around almost nervously, listening carefully for any signs of said ferrets.
Her ears twitched again as she approached the fountain, leaning forward slightly and poking the water cautiously with a claw. "Which way do we go?" she asked uncertainly. Then she turned, glancing over her shoulder at the two again. Her eyes widened slightly when they fell upon Nat, and she began staring. He looked... different. Even his skin tone seemed to have changed! She blinked a couple times, leaning slightly towards him. "Do you... not want to be here anymore?" she asked in confusion, her ears drooping slightly.
