At least in 5 you know where the characters are, or can use Oboro to get a hint as to how to recruit them.
The fact that Crowley and Pesmerga exist in S1 makes S1 the hardest to recruit all the stars in. Who would possibly find those two without a guide?

I thought that V was one of the most easiest ones to recruit characters. Because whenever I ran into one they always joined in. Of course there are the ones that need you to have certain items or be at certain levels but overall I think it was pretty easy. 3nodding

The easiest Suikoden for me to gather others would probably be Suikoden III. Pretty much everyone (with the exception of finding the dogs) were pretty easy.

Coco Holi Gordon from II..you b*****d!!!! He got me killed while I was travelling from Gregminster through that path... Oh the shame, getting beaten up by 3 girls! Ahahaha~!! rofl Thats so true! But I never really trained him xp lol And yes...I hate those dumb beotches!!! mad They're really annoying... u.u;; they don't give you much of anything. Who is this guy? I don't remember seeing him in Sui II =/ I guess they show him in the Gaidens.  suikosource Clant The fake "Fire Hero." He led the fake "Keepers of Flame" and terrorized villages in the Grasslands. He was an ex-Matilda Knight and was the right-hand man of Gorudo. He wore a white mask to hide his identity. He led his bandits to attack the village of Milit, but was defeated by Camus and Miklotov. - Blue Moon
