Name: Aoibara Megumi (Assigned last name for the contingency mentioned below is 'Yasuraka').

Clan: Aoibara ("Pale Rose"). A clan of intermediate nobles. While they are considered higher on the ladder than the lesser nobles, they still don't rival the power of the Four Great Families. Aoibara clan members are famous for their nature-affecting Kidou, as well as their exceptional skill in the various arts of botany and flower arranging. To the Aoibara, flowers are a treasure and a thing of beauty, to the point of being nearly obsessed with them. The men of the clan often tend to be extremely effeminate, so it's often hard to tell the two genders apart without physically feeling them up..or asking them. Typically, Aoibara clan members take the clan name as their official last name, but at birth, they are also given a secondary last name. This is done should the child ever break from the Clan. While Aoibara elders understand that children for the most part will grow as roses do, and remain on the bush, some will be plucked away by circumstance, and grow in other soil, away from their parent bush. Those that leave the family do so permanently, but the family will not disassociate them. They will forfeit their position in the family, but be given a sum of money equal to one third of their original inheritance to live on. Family relations may be a bit strained but they rarely become unfriendly or hostile. As far as relations with the rest of Soul Society, the Aoibara Clan is best known for its exceptional skills at Feng Shui, and the ability to detect natural chi flows in places, rather than people. By understanding nature and the flow of life, they can make a home more peaceful in the Feng Shui style. They act as a noble merchant family dealing in rare flowers, and flower designs on furniture, and clothing, and services like professional flower arranging and gardening for other noble houses. Some of the finest work in the yards of the Four Great Houses is the work of the Aoibara.

Aoibara clan members use flowers for many occasions. Usually, members of the clan wear a single rose upon their cloaks to signify their moods or the current state of being that the clan member is in. While the Aoibara are well versed in the language of flowers in general, and carry other flowers with them at times, they are most recognized as carrying all types of roses upon their person. If a rose of another color is required for something, they seem to always have it on hand. It is said that their family has an affinity with plants and allows them to change the color of their primary rose. It may explain why they are able to have a rose of any color at anytime. Their primary rose, a Witherless Rose, created through spiritual and alchemic arts, never dies. Each family member has one, and they change the color for specific moods or events. Those that know the clan well will know these easily, though those of low houses (read: most peasants without a clan or known family) may not know them at first. Aoibara Clan members tend to mingle with all noble families, and some few of the non-noble houses that have notoriety. House Aoibara often has inter-family marriages between distant relatives to maintain the blood, though brothers and sisters are not permitted to marry. Typically cousins can intermarry, or extended family with one another. Same-gender relationships are considered fine in Aoibara House, and nobody is looked down on for their choice of lover or marriage partner. To the Aoibara, love is more important than form. The roses aforementioned that are worn are as follows, and are listed as such - Color/Meaning in Flower Language/Purpose Used For

Red/varied meanings; most often courage and respect/default rose worn most times

Red(Dark)/Unconscious Beauty/also worn a lot of the time as a 'default'

Red (Single, Given)/"I love you"/When courting. Usually given to the person, after feelings are felt

White/Purity, Innocence, Humility, Silence, Reverence/Worn in memory of someone, also by brides, or by one who keeps a terrible secret

Pink/appreciation, admiration/worn when visiting someone looked up to

Light Pink/gladness, joy, sweetness/worn when in a happy state of affairs or auspicious time

Dark Pink/appreciation, gratitute, thank you/given to someone who has helped in the past or when around such a person

Yellow/ friendship, jealousy, welcome back, remember me/worn when an old friend returns or when jealous of someone

Yellow with Red Tip/falling in love/worn around one that one is courting when true feelings are felt for them

Orange/desire, enthusiasm/worn when one is enthusiastic or wrapped up in something

Red and White/when worn together, they signify unity/worn at a marriage, or a unification of clans, or contract signing

Red and Yellow/jovial and happy feelings/worn in concert when one is feeling more happy than usual. usually at a happy occasion

Peach/let's get together, closing of the deal, gratitude/usually worn at business deals and meetings

Pale Peach/modesty/worn when one wants to appear less flashy

Coral/desire/worn when one desires something or someone and one is near it

Lavender/love at first sight, enchantment/worn when one is infatuated with someone they don't know

Black/death, farewell/worn when a loved one has died, or when one is saying farewell to someone for good

Blue/the unattainable or impossible/worn when one is fighting for something or someone and they know that they will meet death, fighting for what they cannot have

Purple with Black and Silver/family symbol of the clan/worn at very official business, or at times of great importance

Red Rosebud/symbol of purity and loveliness/worn by virgin brides when they are being courted

White Rosebud/symbolic of girlhood/worn by most young girls that are not adults in the clan

Thornless/Love at first sight (love without pain)/worn when the one that one loves at first sight returns the affection

Note that there are many other kinds of roses in the language of flowers, and many are worn for other purposes. The easiest way to find out what the rose that one is wearing means is simply to ask. An Aoibara is always ready to educate (read: talk someone's ear off) about the meaning of the flowers they wear.

Age: physically around 24. Megumi's true age is about 450 years. Currently Megumi is the second son, therefore not the direct heir of Aoibara.

Gender: Male, but it's very hard to tell sometimes..

Rank: Academy Student

~Appearance~

Height: 5' 11"

Weight: 160 lbs

Hair: Megumi's hair is very straight, and covers part of his face. The color of his hair is jet black, with a faint bluish cast to it depending on how the light hits it. At times, it seems to move almost like a living thing. Megumi's hair had always seems to be the same length at all times; no one had ever seen it grow, or get shorter. This was mostly due to Megumi keeping it the same length at all times. Lately, Megumi's hair has grown greatly long, making him seem more elegant and beautiful. A long white streak adorns the black hair, giving him a very exotic appearance.

Eyes: Megumi has two-colored eyes. Megumi's left eye is a deep golden color, like autumn leaves, whilst the right eye is pale violet, like the cloudy sunset sky. Most times, Megumi's eyes are partially covered by his hair, though he seems to be able to see just fine. Megumi's eyes are always somewhat slitted or half-closed, giving him a very lazy, distant look. Still, they often have a very piercing stare when he isn't charming someone with his looks and speech..and have a very unsettling light to them. Some say his gaze can be like a yawning void if one looks too long. Of late, Megumi's eyes tend to change; when he is highly emotional or angered, they shift to a pale violet color.

Clothing: When it comes to clothing, Megumi is very picky. The Shinigami uniform that Megumi wears is embroidered with images of vines and leaves, done in a silver coloration all along the hakama and kimono. Faint hints of deep purple are found in the pattern, giving Megumi's Shinigami uniform a definite personal feel. The over-kimono he wears varies now when it was mostly static before, a definite change. Typically, Megumi also wears a sash around his waist which has a symbol unknown in Soul Society, a dual-headed phoenix, done in black embroidery. The sash itself is a deep purple with a silver outline. Purple, Black, and Silver seem to be the family's primary colors, which is odd for a clan named 'Pale Rose'. Still, the family wears it with pride, as does Megumi. Alternatively, Megumi also wears a black and silver cloak with a single rose design across the back in the aforementioned deep purple. This cloak is done in French Musketeer style, having a sort of 'overlap' design in the wearing. Other outfits he wears are variations on this style and differ only slightly, such as the type of bloom the roses are in, and the shifting of the colors in their positioning or style.

On the mortal world, Megumi dresses one of two ways. The first way is formal, with button up silken shirts, rose-embroidered cloaks, silk pants, and expensive shoes. Never is Megumi anything but very well dressed. Roses and flowers are always present in his clothing somehow, be it a clasp, embroidery, or a design and pattern on the clothing. Colors vary as Megumi uses quite a few different outfits in the mortal world. Most common are reds, pinks, whites, and pale purples. Also seen at times are somber blacks with silver involved somehow, as well as occasionally something brighter like yellow or orange, however this is rare. Megumi's shirts are most always long sleeved, with the cuffs turned up neatly, and the collars folded well. Megumi's pants are always well-ironed, immculately clean, and free of any kind of matter that would dirty them. He even goes so far as to treat them with a repellant that keeps dirt and liquid off of his pants and shirt. Megumi's shoes are always dress shoes or boots when in his formal wear, typically black, however they may be a different color to match the outfit he is currently wearing. For undergarments, typically Megumi wears silk boxers, either black or purple in color. Sometimes Megumi is seen with a flowing cape instead of a cloak, in European style, similar to the capes worn in vampire legends. The only difference is that the inside of the black cape with the silver rose motif on the back is its velvet inside; dark purple, not red.

The second way Megumi dresses is business/casual. Usually this involved him wearing a suit with a tie, with a rose clasp of course. Suits range in only a few colors, most often black, dark red, and white. Included in the look are business slacks, a black belt with a blooming rose buckle, black dress shoes or loafers, and a brand name suit jacket that he usually keeps thrown over his shoulder, held up by one hand. in the mortal world, Megumi sometimes wears small glasses on the end of his nose, mostly when reading. He has an air around him that seems much older than he appears with the way he dresses. Sometimes, Megumi will wear a Chinese suit, resplendant with silver Chinese Dragons dancing along the shirt, in silver over black, or purple over red. he wears black silk pants with those shirts, or red silk pants, and slipper-shoes in matching colors. He wears his sash with the phoenix in this garb, and a rose crest on a silver ring. Among some anime fans, this often prompts the question if he happens to be a Duelist.

Physical Description: Effeminate. This hasn't changed, and like before, when up close it's still hard to believe on first glance that he's a man, and considering Megumi is a feminine name, it makes it even harder to believe the willowy figure is packing male parts if one doesn't know him for a little while at first. Megumi keeps his lips painted in a pale violet these days, and has a pale but healthy complexion. More often than not, Megumi's fingers are painted to match his lipstick, and there is usually a pale violet eyeshadow he wears. Megumi moves with a quiet grace of nobility, although his girlish mannerisms have changed somewhat, of late, though when he can get a hold of them, he still enjoys drinking European teas instead of Japanese teas, particularly English teas. Megumi is always immaculately clean, though his vanity from before has slipped somewhat. Whereas it would be hard to mistake him for a male before, these days it's more apparent. He still wears makeup, and still dresses nobly, and though his voice is still quiet and gentle, he's certainly become more male. Why is hard to say. He is seen carrying a fan these days, and wearing a black Eboshi hat.

Physically, Megumi is actually very well built and very graceful. Were he to remove the makeup and the shinigami uniform top to show his chiseled chest, he would look much more male. Megumi's build is made for both direct striking power, precision, and speed; he has trained with the elders of his family in order to hone his fighting and movement as far as possible for someone of his level. Megumi has incredibly delicate looking fingers, but they are made for striking weak points, and stronger than they appear. Megumi moves with a fluid, almost liquid grace when he walks. His movements have a weight of nobility. His head is always held high, and his gaze always thrown down to his lessers..at least in public, when necessary. Megumi's face, while appearing imperious at times, is for the most part, very friendly, though the look in his eyes is often unsettling. When feeling with great intensity, he gets an almost psychotic look on his face, which has scared off quite a few would be friends from the otherwise friendly-seeming Shinigami. Some have reported seeing small fang-like teeth when he becomes extremely intense or angry. When not at an important family appearance or event, he tends to be very friendly as opposed to 'noble'.

Background: Megumi had a childhood that was both sheltered and hard. Part of the Aoibara lineage of nobles, Megumi was trained from his early childhood how to fight, how to arrange flowers, how to properly eat, speak, and associate with others of high station, and how to behave according to his station. From sunup to sundown it was training, training, and more training with the Aoibara elders. He had noticed from an early age that he was pushed much harder than any of the other children in behaviour and decorum, as well as emotional control when it came to his anger and his sadness. While Megumi didn't understand any of this, he just knew that his mother, while a kind and loving woman, often looked at him with a pained or sad look. There were even a few occasions after becoming intensely angry or upset that Megumi would experience a blackout and memory loss. After this would occur he would often find his mother huddled in a corner, looking at him as if he were a devil. He found she wouldn't let any man near her in that state. Megumi found the answer to that. By observing female nobles, and emulating them, Megumi made himself into a herself; his mother seemed to warm up to him more, though she still kept a slight distance. Upon reaching adulthood, Megumi found out why it was that his mother became so afraid of him during his rages and blackouts.

Megumi's mother had not been a willing participant in the act that concieved Megumi. Megumi had thought that his father had been gone out to war against hollows; he had been told since he was young his father had been lost in battle, but when he found out the truth, he was devastated. His father had taken his mother against her will, and he was the result of that union. In a way it made him feel even closer to his family, as even though he had been a child of such circumstances, they had kept him, and his mother in the family proper, despite her being dishonored so. No longer feeling as if his training was a burden, Megumi was diligent from then on, even surpassing his half-brother, Aoibara Yuri, in hand to hand combat. Still, Megumi has a sort of listless aura about him. He is seeking something greater, and as such, he was sent by his family to attend the Shinigami academy founded by Yamamoto Genryuusai. Megumi has not had many life-shaping experiences; most of his youth was spent in his noble home, learning the intricacies of the court and reacting with grace and poise in the presence of those of equal and higher station, as well as handling those of lower station with dignity and grace. Megumi has had some fleeting relationships of youth with both young men and women, but he has not had a real courtship as of yet.

Megumi, of late.

Personality: Megumi is highly emotionally charged, and highly enthusiastic. He has a very feminine appearance and voice, and is often mistaken as a woman, even by those who have been around him for weeks, or even months. He tends to be very whimsical in his moods, and becomes easily mad, happy, and so forth when he is in the presence of friends. When on official business, he becomes brusque, distant, quiet, though never so much so he becomes cold; merely businesslike as many nobles tend to be. While he envies the lives of those who live in the Great Families, he knows his own family has a good lot, and he is thankful for it. Megumi fights one of two ways; when fighting for a real cause, he is emotionally involved, using his emotions as his powering force. In a formal duel or tournament, he tends to be a distant fighter, and mock his opponent as he fights, while searching for weaknesses. Megumi can almost seem to have several personalities, but no matter what, there's always an air about him when he is being detatched that is highly unsettling, even to those that know him.

Megumi at one point, was obsessed with girly things; clothes, makeup, looking beautiful, girl talk, and other such activities. It used to be one would likely find him with the girls getting his hair styled before finding him out drinking with the men. Lately, Megumi has been spending time alone, trying to fathom what has been wrong with him, and how to stop his hollow from taking over, though only one or two people are aware of that fact. Megumi prefers wines and teas, silken clothing, and fancy fashions, despite his changes in demeanor; he's still a noble, after all.

Still a paragon of fashion, he always wears what's in vogue among the nobles, and fits in very well amongst the noblewomen. Of late, he's shown a great interest in politics and the games of the nobility whereas before, they were little more than diversions to him, and he took very little seriously. Even now, with his change in nature, he seems to show no interest in anyone in the noble court as far as a formal relationship goes, though he's also become a bit less open to people in regards to many things. He still remains his emotional self though, and tends to be poetic if given the chance.

Other: Megumi has become aware of the fact, at least recently, that his biological father is, or was, a proto-Arrancar of exceptional strength. A spiritual force manipulated it to attack Megumi's mother, and when that force departed the world, the arrancar promptly exploded from having had so much power contained in it. Originally it was only a low-level proto-Arrancar, of Gillian class, thought he 'force' that used it increased its power manyfold somehow. In reality, Megumi has an inner hollow boiling inside as a result, making him ultimately, a Vizard. During his blackouts as a child, his inner hollow showed itself to his mother and though she was frightened to death by it, when she saw how hard he tried to become a girl just to keep her acquired fear of men in check, she couldn't turn her child away. Megumi's inner hollow frightens his mother and the entire family, and they trained Megumi hard to keep his emotions in check, especially anger. Still, some unusual changes have been occuring lately..

Megumi's inner hollow is actually a woman, and his body changes into a female body when it is in control. It is cold, calculating, and brutal, preferring to strike with precision rather than wildly. She speaks with a cold, commanding voice, often derisively mocking her enemies. She has a high pitched laugh that causes the blood to run cold. She is vain about her beauty, and will viciously attack anyone who insults it or mars it. She wears a half-mask, which covers the entire forehead, and the right side of the face, leaving the rest exposed. Two pointed, demonic horns jut from the forehead area. Megumi's fighting style is Fencing, and she uses the brutal Juuman Ibara Futarigoroshi, "One Hundred Thousand Thorn Double Murder" as her fighting style. Megumi's Inner Hollow's powers are given here:

Cero - A great burst of energy that only Hollows can use. Hollow Megumi fires hers from the palm of her hand or her mouth, or her blade, like a standard attack. She prefers to use her hand or blade, as she considers firing it from her mouth 'common and inelegant'. A Cero typically must charge up first depending on the power of the user. The intensity of their power often depends on their charge time, and varies from Hollow to Hollow. [Damage Pending]

Syunpo/Shunpou - Allows the Shinigami or Vizard to travel at high speeds over long distances, getting over a great distance quickly. Note that this is while the current user doesn't know Shunpou, the hollow-side will be able to use it. Once Megumi learns Shunpou himself, it will be one of his abilities as well as the hollow-side's.

Bala - a technique in which the user hardens his spiritual pressure and fires it at around 20 times the speed of a cero blast. It is not quite so strong as cero, however. Most likely used to incapacitate rather than kill. Normally this is a power of Arrancar and their ilk, but she seems to be able to use it, perhaps due to Megumi's unusual parentage. [Damage Pending]

~Zanpakutou~

Zanpakutou name: Umeki (Plum-Tree Spirit)

Zanpakutou Call: "Seichou, Umeki!" (Grow to Adulthood, Umeki!)

Zanpakutou Apperance: When sealed, Umeki is a katana, but has a handguard similar to that of a fencing blade. The handguard in question is in the shape of a blooming rose that extends its metallic vines down to complete the guard. The weapon is both offensive and defensive, making it a well rounded blade. The weapon is surprisingly light, and the handguard is reinforced, yet not too heavy. It is silvery-grey in color, with a sheen; it is similar to shined platinum in appearance and mid-grade titanium in actual durability. The weapon is sharp, but not viciously so; that is to say it is a normal zanpakutou in terms of attack.

Zanpakutou Type: Nature/Wood/Life

Zanpaktou Soul: Umeki's true form is that of a beautiful, but mature nude woman with pale green skin, and waving leaves for hair. She always carries a fruit of unknown origin in her left hand, and an unusual horned serpent always twines about her right arm. Her body is covered in the sensitive areas by her flowing leaf-hair, so she is not offensive when appearing to others, should she choose to. To her owner, she needs not this modesty and does not bother. She is a Hamadryad of sorts, a greater tree spirit, and she speaks with a soft voice, and has a gentle but firm personality, like unto a mother. She carries herself as a noblewoman of the natural world, but speaks to everyone she meets with the same kind but firm determination. She is typically smiling a mothering smile, and is very protective of Megumi. She despises abuse of nature and plantlife, and swears vengeance on those who do such things. She has an affinity with Zanpakutou souls that influence water, the weather, wind, or the earth, and an antipathy with zanpakutou souls that utilize ice, fire, or lightning abilities.

Shikai: In Shikai form, Umeki changes from a metal straight-edge katana with a fencing handguard to a wooden sword. This wooden sword has a handguard still, made of interlocking vines that curve around the frontal area of the hand to keep the fingers from being struck in combat. The wood itself is a type of ironwood; a petrified, rare wood that is as strong as tempered steel. It is a defensive blade in this form, and emits a faint field of reiatsu to 'cut without cutting', in the sense that it has no actual sharp end, but provides one to itself when used in an offensive motion. This field's strength is determined by Megumi's strength and the current power of the zanpakutou. At its lowest, it cuts as a normal zanpakutou, and at maximum, well. That has yet to be seen. Like most soul slayers, it grows with its wielder.

Zanpakutou Abilities: Umeki has the following special abilities that are learned in various stages of release. Abilities with a * are inactive at this time. Note that the technique requirements for each technique are required for absolute control. In tense or life-threatening situations, there is a 1/10 chance of them activating automatically (at full cost) as long as the user meets the level req.

1) Yasasugata Hoshinjutsu (Graceful Figure; Art of Self Protection). Command is: "Hyakushutsu, Umeki!" (Arise in Great Numbers, Umeki!). This is a defensive art that causes hundreds of tree roots to simultaneously burst up from the ground, regardless of what kind of ground it is, and wrap around the shinigami in a dome shape that encases about itself to the point that any point of entry is totally sealed. Within this protective dome, no forms of gas, liquid, or any similar attack or pathogen form can find purchase or entry as it becomes completely airtight. Obviously anything that needs to breathe can't stay within too long. The dome may be entered from below, providing that someone has the ability to burrow into the floor, or ground, and up through it. This dome does not extend to other-dimensional movements, but can stop flash-stepping into the dome as flash-stepping is not true teleportation. The barrier is made of Ironwood, and it can negate standard physical attacks of those of equal power to the shinigami indefinitely; ie normal sword strikes, punches, kicks, and so on, unless done by someone of massively greater strength (strength must be half-again more than the user's Vit score). The barrier regenerates damage done to it by swords that can manage to cut it, if the user feeds reiatsu into it slowly and constantly. For determination of actual damage, (by an enemy with the aforementioned strength beyond Megumi's) the barrier has four times Megumi's HP.

Against other attack forms, it can recieve two direct hits from a special ability or kidou designed to do damage before toppling, regardless of actual HP total. The exception is Ice or Fire attack forms, which destroy it in one shot, but it still prevents that first hit from damaging the shinigami inside. Once formed, the dome cannot do anything else. The shinigami calling up the dome can drop it at anytime. The inside of the dome is fifteen feet in diameter and circular in width, thinning in size at the top due to its shape. Several people can be protected by the dome, obviously. More attacks can be weakened or negated if the shinigami making it does nothing but kneel and feed reiatsu into the barrier, but doing so severely weakens the shinigami if done for more than 3 rounds (posts). Against someone of greater status, the barrier drops to one half effectiveness based on level; that is to say, for a standard Shinigami, the barrier of a Shinigami can take two hits of any attack form, or one hit of fire or ice from another shinigami rank, one hit of any attack form, or one-half a hit from fire or ice from a vice-captain ranked shinigami (a one-half fire or ice means the barrier negates half the damage but the defending shinigami still takes half of the attack.) and at most, one-half defense against a Captain level shinigami, or no effect against fire and ice; they'll bust right through.

This goes up as well. A vice-captain level (20th-30th) can defend three hits of any but fire and ice, and two fire or ice from a normal rank shinigami, the standard two/one from a fellow vice captain, or one/one-half against a captain. A captain level (40+) can defend four and three against a shinigami, 3 and 2 against a vice captain, and the standard two and one against a fellow captain. Of course, exceptions can be made as a vice-captain much stronger than the norm might break through the barrier more easily. This will have to be determined by the levels of strength of the characters in question during a battle. As always, random factors change things depending on circumstances, but these are just the technical details. This is an absolute defense, and as such is meant to be strong, but as explained above, it can be broken. Regardless of whether it is attacked or not, the barrier falls after six rounds (posts).

If the barrier is destroyed by the aforementioned attacks of any kind, it cannot be raised again for another two posts, as a 'recovery time'. Damage is irrelevant; no matter the damage the shield holds, making this a form of true, as stated before, 'Absolute Defense'. Reiatsu cost is 20 rp.

Zanjutsu Req: 25
Kidou Req: 10
Level Req: 5
Reiatsu Control: 35

2) Aki Ochiba (Autumn Fallen Leaves) Command is "Aki Ochiba!" When this technique is used, Umeki's wooden blade 'sheds' multiple leaves colored as they would be in autumn when falling off of their respective trees. The leaves can take any form, but are usually sharp-edged in shape. When the leaves violently disperse away from the blade upon release, then fly towards the opponent and whirl about them rapidly cutting many shallow cuts. This is a technique very similar to Senbonzakura or Haineko, however instead of the blade becoming missing, it actually sheds the leaves from its own substance in great number, similar to skin flaking off of the body when it is dry. The leaves disperse, or 'shed' in a circular pattern around Megumi when this attack is invoked. The number of leaves are unknown, but usually number around two hundred. It isn't as efficient as Senbonzakura, obviously, but the leaves are a good attack form that can get past a weapon if it is not expected. Also, it must be noted that instead of attacking, the leaves can be left in a spinning, swirling pattern around Megumi. It acts as a shield of sorts, and can be used in tandem with Yasasugata Hoshinjutsu, making a barrier of cutting, swirling leaves around Megumi, before he raises the dome of the previous technique, creating an offense around the defense. Powerful blasts of greater levels of reiatsu, a medium to high leveled fire blast, or a powerful wind or ice technique will disperse or destroy the leaves. Defensive barriers can also keep the leaves out except obviously in the case of a barrier weaker than Megumi's power level. Their overall power are like shallow sword or knife cuts individually, but when working in tandem they can inflict quite a bit of damage if not stopped. An additional note is that if he concentrates while the leaves spin about him, Megumi can shape the formation of the leaves; it can be a spiral, a circle, or any other moving shape within reason. The leaves stay in existence for four rounds (posts). Then they are forced to disperse or vanish regardless of whether they take damage or not. If more reiatsu is pushed into them, they can cut deeper if necessary.

Though only a single hit is rolled, the attack is a cloud, very akin to Senbonzakura's form. Initial cost is 20 rp to use/activate, and 10 rp to keep it in existence each round up to four rounds. It may only attack once per round, but can attack a large radius of enemies simultaneously at the same damage as the leaves move rapidly. Unlike many techniques, this attack has a fixed damage. The intitial damage of this technique is 100 damage. 200 leaves are released doing .5 damage each. The striking speed is so quick, defending is very difficult. Dodge rolls against this attack are done at -5. Also, reiatsu mod is done as damage but is never doubled by spending more (so if Reiatsu mod is +20, it will always be +20 regardless of the reiatsu spent to magnify the attack damage.)

If double the reiatsu is spent, damage is inscreased, as is speed. at 40 rp, the leaves do 1 damage each, for 200 damage. Keeping them active still only costs 15 rp however. Also, dodge rolls are at -7 now against the attack.

If double again the reiatsu is spent (80), 300 damage is dealt, and dodge is at -9 against this attack for all parties. Again, it is only 10 rp to keep the existence of the attack up once activated until four rounds expires. After use, a single round must pass where the technique is not activated before it can be used again, but only if the technique is kept up for any rounds past the first. If the attack is used as a one-shot attack, and not kept up, it may be fired off repeatedly for base or magnified cost each time. Note that everytime the reiatsu is doubled, more damage is added as above, and more dodge is taken. (100 dmg per up, -2 dodge per up). Upon achieving captain class level (40+) it only costs 5 Rp to maintain the leaves, and there is no delay between uses.

3) Adauchi No Keikyoku* (Thorns of Vengeance) Command is "Sundan, Umeki!" (Tear to Pieces, Umeki!) This technique can be described as offensive/defensive in its application. When the command is given, eight large vines rip out of the ground and writhe and whirl around Megumi. These branches are controlled partially by Umeki's senses, and partially by his own thoughts. The vines are ironwood as before, and as flexible as new, fresh vines. The vines have large thorns with jagged edges, and the vines can move to intercept blows against Megumi, while also striking targets within their range. Each vine is fifteen feet in height, and about five to six feet in width. If the vines are fed with reiatsu and commanded to do so, they can grow to a maximum of thirty feet in length, to better intercept targets trying to dodge them. They are able to move in midair with ease, and carry a type of venom in the thorns. If the thorns pierce the target, there is a 30% (1 to 3 on a d10) chance they will tear off and embed in the target. If this occurs, and the thorn is not pulled out in the next round, by spending an attack action, it injects venom into the system of the target. The target is then subject to a penalty on all of their attacks, and fatigue. Each injection of poison counts as an additional negative, ie, they stack. (Each injection deals 1d4 con/1d4 str damage if they fail a roll vs the initial poison [D20 + vit mod vs DC 10 + Megumi's level]). Once a target has lost 2/3 or more of their total stat pool in the reduced stats or alternatively if stats are not used in the current system, been pierced with seven thorns or more, whichever is applicable, the target falls unconscious. The vines can also be used defensively to block blows, and since the vines can writhe and twirl, they are very flexible. The formation they create around Megumi is akin to the Star of Chaos or a Compass Rose; one directly in front, one directly behind, one to each direct side. Then the directions of northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest are also present. All of the vines rise in a simultaneous motion. The vines are capable of grappling, which will do injection damage, as well as throw targets that are grappled. This is done with a successful hit roll for a grab. If an enemy is grabbed in such a way they cannot use their swords, they may spend one of their attack actions to break free. This is based on a roll of (Str mod + Hakuda Modifier vs Megumi's Hakuda Mod + double Megumi's strength mod). This is due to the fact that the grapple is akin to an extension of Megumi grabbing an enemy. He may grapple up to eight opponents at once in this fashion if he wishes. Also, while amongst the vines, Megumi's dodge gains a +16 cover bonus, as the vines intercept blows for him when not grappling as long as he dodges within the circle of them. Each vine that's destroyed may regrow in two posts if reiatsu is fed into growing them again. Note also that the vines can grapple someone inside the circle with Megumi and throw them out, adding to his protection.

This technique can be used before the main technique, as an outside attacking covering for the Yasasugata Hoshinjutsu dome, making the dome able to have an attacking set of vines. If this is done, the vines are spaced evenly and rise up to prepare to recieve the dome. They make a perfect circular grouping as a compass' stars would within the circumfrence of the compass in question. In this state, the vines use Umeki's senses alone, and intercept anything physical coming at the dome. The vines can clump somewhat, allowing an extra half-attack defense against all attack forms non physical, to the initial dome barrier. In general, the vines tend to be a brownish color, like old roots, but the thorns are a white color, and very easy to tell apart from the actual plant. They have a slight curve as rose thorns do, and have fine spikes on them, much like a hedgehog's spines. Pulling them out of the body leaves a nasty gash, which bleeds quite profusely. (1d4 additional damage per thorn pulled) The poison, oddly enough, slow's one's bleeding, but also makes one weak. The venom is meant to debilitate and not kill, much like that of carnivorous plants. The thorns in question are about the size of large knife blades; five to six inches in length, and they cover a good bit of the vines, making them hard to avoid. Each successful hit from a vine hits with a random amount of thorns (1d4), and each thorn does 2d4+double Megumi's str mod in piercing damage. Vine attacks are done by rolling (1d20+hakuda mod+double str mod+base accuracy bonus). The technique costs 40 RP to summon up, and costs 5 RP to regenerate a vine.

4) Yggdrasil no Mizugashi* (Fruit of Yggdrasil) Command: None. This technique has no command and is done by the mental command of Megumi. When used, thorns extend from the handle of the blade and pierce into Megumi's hand. This forms a blood bond with the wooden weapon. The wooden weapon then grows small sharp patches, similar to tiny thorny patches over the entire length of the wooden blade. The weapon will tear whatever it hits, rather than cut, at this point. If a living thing is torn by the weapon, be it hollow, shinigami, or anything else alive, or rather, with a life force, their inherent life-force will be absorbed from them into Megumi.

This life-force, or alternatively, reiatsu, if the target is a shinigami, arrancar, or vizard, will power Megumi and heal his wounds, restore his own life and reiatsu, and allow him to pour more power into his techniques. There is a secondary effect as well. If fighting a Shinigami, or a Vizard and that target's Zanpakutou is a "natural" element type (Earth, Water, Wind, Lightning, Fire, Metal, Wood, or Plant), then Megumi may temporarily absorb one of its attack forms, if it is a projectile attack, defense shield, or otherwise outward special ability that requires activation, and use it as if it were his own. It cannot absorb abilities that are not active or already learned, or something entirely passive that does not manifest a visible effect. If more than one ability is learned by the enemy's sword, the ability copied is random (1d is rolled to determine which based on the number of abilities). This is done by landing a successful hit, but on the Zanpakutou instead of the opponent, or by contact between Megumi's sword and the enemy's sword. This temporary ability bleeds out of Megumi's system in 30 minutes in game (or 30 posts if in actual battle when it is copied). If the Zanpakutou of the shinigami struck is the proper element but only has one attack, defense, or special form, Megumi gets it by default. This does not render that weapon unable to use its ability. It is more like Megumi is "Xerox Copying" the ability temporarily. Because of this, there is no contested roll; Megumi's weapon merely analyzes the weapon's power after contact, and emulates it. Use of the new ability goes off of Megumi's stats, not the enemy's stats. The sword communicates its new power to Megumi, and he may use it two posts after the absorbtion of the ability; this counts toward Megumi's 30 post time limit. All costs, conditions, etc must be met as if Megumi were the power's original owner.

The thorns on the handle hook into his hand so deeply that removing the weapon from his hand at any point during this technique is nigh impossible without severing the hand. Healing done is one-half of the damage done to the enemy to HP. A seperate damage roll is done to the Reiatsu stat and half the damage done is added to Megumi's Reiatsu. HP damage is applied normally. as per battle system, but on a single hit, two forms of damage are done. The second form of damage is calculated by Rei Mod+Kidou Mod+Zanpakutou Shikai base damage. (instead of str+zanjutsu+zanpak damage). This damage is done to the Rp instead of the HP.

Zanjutsu Techniques: Hyaku Ibara Shioki (Hundred Thorn Execution) Megumi's Clan fighting style is an unusual mix of Kendo, and European Fencing. Primarily borrowing from French styles involving heavy footwork and lunging, while adding movements of rapid swings and thrusting from Kendo, Megumi is a fighter that is based more on quick vital strikes, and reactionary defense than pure offensive might. Oddly enough, Megumi also incorporates methods of Battojutsu, primarily quick-draw defensive techniques. These all fit together in a style that his Clan calls Hundred Thorn Execution. It emphasizes quick-draw strikes akin to Battoujutsu, but rather than sheathing the blade after the first strike, the fighter falls into a fencing stance and uses the speed component of fencing and defensive moves of both Battoujutsu and Kendo to achieve reach, quick strikes, and vital punctures. Primarily, it is a thrusting/piercing style, but has several slashing components.

This sword style has several unique attack forms, however, Megumi has not yet learned any of them. (ie, the moves are pending because I haven't made them yet. >.>). He can learn these moves from a master of the style in his family, which he has not done, so all Megumi knows is the base sword style.

Megumi's Inner Hollow uses a bastardization of this art that she terms the Juuman Ibara Futarigoroshi, "One Hundred Thousand Thorn Double Murder". This is similar in style to Hyaku Ibara Shioki, but focuses on piercing into fatal areas of the body with as much force as speed, forcing an opponent to bleed and die slowly and with great pain. Obviously this b*****d style shows the level of cold brutality that the Inner Hollow prefers.

Kuro Ouji Sen Ni Hyaku Juu Ichi Shiki: Kin Yaiba Alhazzad (Dark Prince Style; 1,201: Forbidden Sword Alhazzad) - The fighting style of the entity inside of Megumi's soul that is neither a hollow nor his sword spirit. When this being appears, Megumi's chest blossoms with a black tattoo of a dual-headed phoenix over a patch of bloody roses. This entity uses a sword style with no known base, except that it emulates some movements of European chess pieces. It seems to be an original style, known only to that man. Uniquely, there are no purely defensive moves in this set; it is a mostly offensive style, and any defense done is filtered in from the type of move itself. Megumi, of late, has been seen using the rudimentary moves even without the transformation; perhaps the being inside has been teaching him.

Attack forms:

Fu (Pawn) - The first technique in the set. This is a double-thrust, using momentum and speed to increase range, as well as a ducking feint. It is always a stabbing move, and done to an enemy directly in front. When this attack is used, if an attack is coming from an enemy directly in front in a forward thrust, or sideways slash, or over-diagonal slash motion, then the attacker using Fu can lean his body forward and duck under the attack while keeping his attack motion. An attack coming straight down or from underneath can't be blocked by Fu's motion. More force is added to the thrust to make the attack more painful as well as giving it a greater range of attack.

System: A long thrust forward. Can be done at any point when the opponent is in front of the attacker.
+1/2 again strength damage during the blow. (so if str bonus damage is +10, it would instead be +15 on the hit using Fu). In Shikai when strength bonus damage is doubled, it will be 1/2 again that amount.
+1 to dodge per 2 attacker levels, to a maximum of +10 at level 20, against thrusting, sideways, or diagonal attacks only.

Zanjutsu Req: 10
Hohou Req: 5
Level Req: 1

Kishi (Knight) - The second technique in the set. This is a partialy defensive feint, a misleading move. When an enemy attacks, the person using Kishi immediately dodges to the left or right in a five foot area, then jumps forward and makes an attack from the side, causing surprise. This mimics the move of a Knight piece in Chess (one space over, two spaces up or down, or vice versa). This is a defensive offense, and can only be done immediately after a dodge. Since it is done so quickly right after a dodge response, it makes the motion hard to follow unless the person is expecting it in its entirety.

System: Done immediately after a dodge.
- 1 from opponent's dodge per 10 zanjutsu levels of the user, to a maximum of -10 (at zanjutsu 100)
+1 to hit for every 2 character levels to a maximum of +5 at level 10.

Zanjutsu Req: 10
Hohou Req: 15
Level Req: 5

Shukyou (Bishop) - The third technique in the set. This attack is also a feint, but on a different level. It can only be learned upon learning a second attack. Shukyou can only be used after an attack, or after a dodge, ie, as a second or later attack or if the opponent goes first. When it is used, the attacker goes from one attack, or one dodge, immediately into a spin, and brings their weapon in a diagonal motion up or down (hip to shoulder, or shoulder to hip), creating a highly quick blow after another blow that would be hard to deflect without fast defensive motion. This move relies on speed more than anything, and gives the attacker an advantage to hit the enemy after being blocked once, or as a follow up move to a strong strike.

System: Done immediately after another attack or a dodge. Can be used after any of the moves of the style, including itself.
-1 to opponent's dodge per 10 zanjutsu levels of the user, to a maximum of -20 (at zanjutsu 200).
+1 to hit for every 2 levels of the user, to a maximum of +10 at level 20.

Zanjutsu Req: 30
Hohou Req: 20
Level Req: 6+

Joukaku (Castle/Rook) - The fourth technique in the set. This attack is unusual in that it has no finesse involved at all. The attacker places his blade crosswise on his body at an angle, pushing with one hand on the back of the blade, one against the hilt, in a shoving charge, sharp-end first, at a dead forward motion. This gives the benefit of shoving an enemy off his feet at times, as well as giving excessive damage, but being it's a charge move, it also has disadvantages for the attacker, who sacrifices quick movement for quick force.

System: Done as a charge attack.
-1 per 2 levels of the attacker to the first dodge roll after this attack unless another quick attack follows it, to a maximum of -20 at level 40. Quick attacks are follow-up attacks specifically made for fast motion. Shukyou, above, is an example.

+1 to the attacker's hit roll when this is used for every 2 levels of the attacker, to a maximum of +20 at level 40..
If the attack connects, it deals double strength damage. If in shikai, when strength is normally doubled, it deals double that.
The opponent must make a roll if hit, 1d20 + dex modifier vs DC 10 + the attacker's str mod. If the roll fails, the opponent is knocked back and suffers a -1 dodge penalty per every 2 levels of the attacker to a maximum of -20 at level 40, on his next dodge roll.

Zanjutsu Req: 40
Hohou Req: 30
Level Req: 12

Shouten (Ascension) - The first of the trinity attack. Shouten is 'Ascension', marking the Prince's rise to power in his eternal and beautiful kingdom. It also marks the power of the Prince, and shows his might, chosen by God. When the attacker uses this technique, he spends all of his attacks in a single, simultaneous destructive burst of motion and pain. When used, it sends the opponent stumbling back, and dizzies them, leaving them open for the remaining attacks of the trinity of the prince. It begins with an attack to the lower body, and becomes a spin, hitting multiple simultaneous times at once, before the attacker finishes off the last blow by launching himself in the air.

System: Spends all attacks on one single blow.
User must have 4 total attacks, including base attack to use this technique.
If the user attacks at all before using this attack, he must have 4 attacks left in reserve to use it.

Each attack gains a +2 to hit per 2 levels of the attacker, to a maximum of +20 at level 20.
Each attack gives the opponent a -1 to dodge per 2 character levels, to a maximum of -10 per hit at level 20.
Should all 4 attacks in the move strike, the opponent must make a roll of 1d20 + vit mod vs DC 10 + attacker's str mod. If the roll fails, the opponent is stunned, and makes their next dodge roll at 1/2 their total dodge.

Zanjutsu Req: 60
Hohou Req: 40
Level Req: 18+

Metsubou (The Fall) - The second, and currently final attack in the trinity. This attack can only be done from above, usually after Shouten is used. Unlike the other attack forms, reiatsu is fed into the weapon when this attack is used, making it doubly dangerous; it shows the power of the Dark Prince after his fall from grace, when his wings were blackened and exchanged for the burning wings of the corrupted phoenix. When the attack is performed, the sword of the prince takes on a black and violet evil aura, and he spins in midair, bringing his blade down to crash explosively on the enemy, crushing their spirit.

System: Uses up two attacks. Can only be done from the air.
Costs 30 RP to use.
+1 attack for every 2 levels, to a maximum of +15 at level 30.
+1 additional damage per character level. There is no limit to this raise.
Double Reiatsu Mod is added to damage of this attack. Element is considered 'Dark/Evil'.
If Metsubou hits successfully, the enemy must make a roll of 1d20 + vit mod + rei mod vs DC 10 + attacker's rei mod + attacker's str mod. If the roll fails, the victim is fully stunned, and unable to make dodge or attack rolls after they are hit, and during their next post. This is a form of paralysis due to the negative energy flowing through them due to the effect of Metsubou.

Zanjutsu Req: 120
Kidou Req: 70
Reiatsu Control Req: 70
Level Req: 30

???? - (The Redemption) Little is known about this technique, even to the user. At this point and time, the last move of the trinity is unfinished, so a mystery to Megumi.
