So here's a thread to talk about pairings - because we didn't have one. And the first one I wanted to start with was : Anzu/Shizuka or Anzu/Mai, what do you think? And then when we're done talking about that one someone can bring up a different one to discuss. Cool?

I haven't seen many shoujo pairings, I have to say. I did see one or two good Anzu/Mai ones, though. I think it's cute if written properly.
And I have never seen an Anzu/Shikuza, so someone else gets to start talking on that one. mrgreen <- New favourite emoticon ever.

Well, I'll say Anzu/Shizuka, because it gives Anzu the opportunity to play the hero, to defend and protect someone. Anzu spends all of her time hanging out with boys like Jounouchi and Yugi who have strong values and chivalrous, self-sacrificing natures and being with Shizuka would be the perfect opportunity to finally let all that influence show through.

I would have to agree with Youko on this one. I like Anzu and I think she needs a chance to be the hero insted of the tag-a-long back ground oh it's nessasary girl. She gets stuck in that postion so often causing many Anzu bashers to crop up. Anyway I think the pic on the guild home has a Anzu/Shizuka pick I drew as part of it. On the flip side I think Shizuka could stand to be around girls like Anzu and Mia, there indipendant and strong willed, it just feels/looks like a good solid parring and has the makings for fluffy fics/pics. 3nodding

*Snickers* I could just imagine Shizuka's mom finding out her precious perfect daughter is dating a girl. She goes and ditches the boy and the girl turns out to be gay. ...I don't like that woman. *hisses at her*

Yugi, Honda, and Anzu went to Jounouchi's appartment just once. His father was sitting at the kitchen table with his feet (in army-type boots) on the table. There were bags of garbage stacked against the wall and empty beer bottles and cans around. He said something to the effect of 'that brat ain't here' and threw a beer bottle at them. I'd call that violent and drunk. Honda says "He's been like that forever."
The garbage bags indicate that Katsuya probably does all the work in the house. For that much garbage to build up between only two people and considering the few days Katsuya has been gone, I'd say the bags are full of take out boxes and empty beer cases. The boots are...well, not the type of shoes worn by those with a desk job. They add to the gruff image.
Wasn't Katsuya going to use the money from that quiz show to pay back his father's debts? I can't remember and I don't have that one in front of me.
But I'd say the "fangirls" image couldn't really be that off.
