The barren, frozen wastelands of Braxis are some of the most unforgiving places in the sector. A thick layer of permafrost allows little in the way of plant life to thrive and brutal winter storms constantly rage across the plains. Even in such harsh conditions, however, humans and other species have flocked to this planet on the fringes of the middle rim. Why? Because of it's rich resources. This planet have uncountable caverns of rare and valuble stones, minerals, jewels, natural gases and other fuels. Many trading clans have come here and made fortunes, other have lost more than their money. A few clans of humans existed here before the rush to plunder the riches of Braxis started, and they had many ways of dealling with the cold. the summers on Braxis are quite warmer than the winters, though they are still only a little warmer that the winter on a more habital planet such as Nabbo or Alderan (before it's destruction).
There is one place that is absolutly uninhabitable during the winter and still bitterly cold during the summer months. The poles of Braxis in the winter are so bitterly cold that even a creature evolve for the cold would be frozen to death in a matter of minutes. It is so cold and dry that snow is not even present in the poles. Humans and other sentient species must use cold resistant ships and machines to work in the poles during the winter, and even then, they have a limit to how long they can stay, less hey freeze the machine's inner working parts.
But during the summer it is once again, much warmer. The temperatures of the poles raise to a high of -10F during the summer, decoming warm emough for the miners to reach the most valuble resources.
