~Arentiel~

A kingdom of law and oath, Arentiel prides itself with upstanding citizens and a steadfast army. It's border holds strong, though it seeks not to bar entry, all are considered innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of it's officers. Behind these lines of watchful eyes lay the sprawling towns and cities. Each following their word to the letter, they look up to the greater cause of unfettered goodness. It is an utopia, and the hidden hearts and desires of devious men are washed clean by hospitality and the love of neighbours.

Successful, cities of Arentiel are vast and shining. Silver layers their towers, marbel is their stone of choice. Anything that brings an illuminate glow to their homes are welcomed, as they take great interest in the light. Towers mark the greater cities, homes of the arch-mages who watch over their domain. Statues placed in cities pay homage to kings and leaders long past, heroes of ages before. It is a place of national pride, a place where one can wake up each day and be thankful to be part of a bigger goal.

Most of Arenetiel's population are humans, people who move about in hustle and bustle. The ranchers and tradesmen employ their skills thankfully, earning their way in support of the nation itself. In times of war they lend their skills and resources to the great army, their dedication to their brethren marked by annual parades and festivals. Every man, woman, and child is a hero, soldier or not.

The soldiers themselves feel humble before those they lay down their lives for. It is a position of servitude until death, it is a sacrifice for all they adore. Favoring half-plate and spears, if not swords, they form great shields walls and lines. Cavalry are fewer then most other nations, reserved for the elites and commands of the troops. Knights of the Dawn as they are known, are fiercesome and fanatical in their devotion. So much so that ritual and purification don't have to ever be ordered. Many bare scares of battle, and medals for success.

+Nature+

The kingdom is vast, the grounds mostly flat plains or rolling hills. A few mines dot the landscape, but most of it is farming and such. Some caves here and there, and many herding beasts. Farms sport cows, chickens, and other creatures whilst the plains are dotted with lumbering bison and other things. Plants are fresh and green, some forests popping up into healthy bunches of leaved resource.

---

Important sites.

Kahlendar - The vast cityscape of Kahlendar stands higher then any other. Acting as the capital of Arentiel and home of the king, as well as his council, it is brighter than all the rest. The main city surrounds the castle of Aren, acting as the first defense before enemies reach the massive walls. It is a place of commerce and worship, the main central hub of important events. Like the other cities it sports an array of buildings, mostly squared in shape, though domes and other small towers or schools dot the place.

Aren - The castle of Arentiel and the most well-guarded bastion of light's secrets, the place is ancient. Before the great unification, the reform of men, it was built. Massive walls of stone guard the keep in layers of defense, proving capable against most forces. Lines of mythril run through the carved stone's surface, glyphs and symbols of lost meaning marking the walls.

The actual castle itself is prominent above and beyond it's city. The towers reach up to the sky, grasping at the sun itself. Open flat services upon their top are used by mages and priests, as lookouts and points of casting. The five towers as they are often referred to, are level after level of learning and training, as well as experiments. Below these towers lays the keep, an awe-inspiring building of massive proportions.Great archways mark the many doors, and the entire ground is surrounded by lush gardens and titanic statues. Inside the building many of the greatest live, and share their thoughts at the council table.

---

For all that it is, the kingdom is merciless. Evil doers and those that betray the light are shed no tears,a nd are offered no mercy. Indeed the peasants smile as the carcass of a bad man is paraded int heir streets, or as the bones of a thief's hands a pried from his body in a public ritual. Sinners should beware, for their blood will paint the ground of the townfolk, and beneathe the light will they be trodden into the darkest depths of hell.

*Lana sighs as she meanders down the glowing streets of yet another city. Her lips fall into a full out pout. Most people avert their eyes from her because of her clothing. She is dressed as a healer of high status but the arms have been cropped, her skirt shortened and her fancy boots she just favors over the simple flats of the normal uniform. She hated this place really, but she had been kicked out of the last seemingly normal city for her most recent temper tantrum. The soldiers would have long done her in, but her status, career choice and the fact that her body hosts light keeps them off her @$$.*

In the fortress of solitude and honesty, upon the throne of fanatical devotion, sat a leader. Khyven smirked to himself, his eyes averted from the vassals before him. The great hall before his throne was as bright as everything else, and his eyes had long since grown accustomed to each and every sparkling detail. The sun offered no glare to him, though it seemed the shadows were thicker then they should be.

He thought about his men, his palace, his kingdom. He thought about the corrupt and vile lands beyond his borders, of the impurity and the filth that festered on his doorstep. That the infected and ill-hearted might dare his border nearly enraged him to rise from his throne. His blood boiled with holy valor at the mere notion, and before long he could no longer restrain himself. Rising from his throne did he outstretch his hand to the nearest vassal, his deep voice grating against the fine soft tapestries. "Organize a regiment of men and prepare them to march on our neighbors. I want them to be fully prepared to face the coming onslaught, especially so the temptation that they will undoubtly be approached by." His order was clear and swift, and without further instruction the vassal hurriedly left, off to stir the men.

They would fight and die on a whim, and they would crush the innocent beneathe their boots for the sake of the greater good.

News would spread quickly, as the people of the cities began their usual hustle and bustle. No doubt the sacred healer Lana would be witness to armor-clad figures marching the streets in unison within the day. They did after all take themselves very seriously, as the military was the backbone of the entire society, and it seemed the communities were quickly becoming militaristic under the rule of their newest leader.

*Lana liked it when soldiers stopped standing around and dragging their feet. It meant that she most likely would be in business soon. The more battles, the more blood. The more blood, the better the pay. Her name was known by soldiers, either by her help or her reputation. Many men stop to give her a nod; she recognized only a few because their wounds had been a pain for her. Stopping at an inn, she's almost knocked off her feet by soldiers. A few catch her, right her and just as quickly leave her standing there. She sighs and wets her dry lips with her tongue. Walking into the inn, the inn-keeper looks up and as tradition goes offers her a comfortable suit for as long as she wishes. Healers were thought of like priests, closer to the higher-ups because of their bond with the light. In her part of the tradition she reaches out and touches a wall of the inn. The walls glow brightly in her shade of white, tinted gold with her rank, most were blue, and the highest is pure white, gold being just below that. The building is soon engulfed in her light shining brightly even in the day. This was to show the people that a healer was here and that if someone was wounded they should be brought to this place. Plus because of this glow the inn-keeper would most likely receive much more business.*

Lana'as efforts would not be in vain, for even as the people toiled and hustled, glances would be spared for the glowing establishment. For such a person of importance to grace the area was a great boon, and the proud people seemed energized by the knowledge of her presence. The innkeeper of course would welcome her, as everyone would. She would of course be held in the highest order, to defy her will would question her motives, a grave insult to those so closely entwined with the element that shaped their very lives.

Of course with such prestige came responsibility, and as expected Lana would soon have people at the doorstep humbling asking her service. The sick mostly, or perhaps one or two injured in construction of walls and keeps. Of course there was one man who stood apart from the rest, an older fellow who sat bunched up in the corner to himself. Stooped over in his dark robes in the corner, the figure seemed to be quite at odds with the city and it's people.

Not that the figure much cared, for he was given his space. No one really cared to shuffle over to the slumping mass of brown wool layers, the torn and raggity patches keeping all but the most finite of details hidden. Brown, one might think the color common, but in the cities such a color was exceedingly dark by contrast, and though uniforms often came with dark colors it was as much for striking the eye as it was moral belief. Nonetheless, the hood of the cloak seemed to shift towards Lana for a moment, before turning back downwards towards the empty drink that sat unmolested on the table before it.

*Lana sat cross-legged on a plush cushion in the center of the inn. Her boots had long since been removed. Her body glows with her light as she continues to use her powers on the sick and the injured. Sickness was easy to cure, bones and cuts were messy. Currently she sits with her eyes squeezed shut in concentration, her fingers press lightly on the cracked thighbone of a middle aged man. The man twitches in pain but pride keeps him silent and the fact that if he broke her concentration it could be deadly for him. Sweat beads on her forehead as her supple skin glows with a golden heat. She feels each artery and muscle in his leg, making sure all are still connected and fine. She pulls a few strained muscles into place, fixing them appropriately and relaxing them in her heat. Next with expert slowness she pulls the cracked bone into place and entices more bone mass to grow quickly into the cracked space. Slowly pulling back she lets out a breath she hadn't known she had been holding. Bones made her nervous, ever since she broke concentration once and ended up inverting a poor boy's knee. She's offered a drink and she sips it lightly. Her long hair spills around her shoulders which are exposed since as she had worked she had removed many layers of clothing to keep cool. After curing two more sick children she waves the rest away, it wouldn't be smart to exhaust herself on the first day.* Thank you but that will be all today, please return at noon tomorrow if you have not been taken care of. *Only then did her eyes glance towards the bunch of brown in clear view.*

"Radiant." A soft, though eerily distant voice would mutter. The term seemed to suit, and though one might've scoffed at it, there seemed to be no hint of humor within the cold voice. No, the whisper seemed to be more forboding, as if for some reason the light would be bothersome. Nonetheless it was all that Lana was offered, as the pile of robes abruptly collapsed on itself. Inside them would be found nothing, the loose cloth seeming taken from a horse blanket or similar bundle. The water int he simple cup remained still, though it was murky and foul.

It seemed that Lana was being watched, if only passively.

*Lana paid last night's events little mind. As she walks down the streets she stops only a few times, once to buy a very nice necklace and the second time to heal the dog of an old man. Sighing she walks back to the inn she had claimed. A few other buildings she had noted held the blue white glow of young healers but nothing like her own light. She was given another great welcome that night, with food and flowers. She thanked them politely and took a few bouquets of flowers before sitting down and again offering her services.*
