Ariston had fininshed his daily stares with his favorite pond, and decided he looked brilliant enough for a flight. As he lifted himself in the air, he let his golden hair flow behind him almost perfectly. It was not long until he felt the harsh wind around him, and realized quickly after it was messing up his hair! Growling, he swooped down as quickly as he could to a near cliff.
He quickly shook back and forth, untangling the horrid tangles which had ruined him. After a few minutes of painful worry, he felt his hair was perfect, because it was the exact weight against his body as it normally was. "Much better!" He gleamed, having his normal self returned.

The wind was cold against his body as it rushed past him. His hair fell back against his body as he slowly made his decent. His wing was begining to throb and he would have to land for awhile. Had he known what the summers run on the beach would turn into he never would have raced that mare.
He snorted as he landed, his silver hooves lightly prancing on the downy grass. It was as he turned around that he noticed he company. His indigo eyes narrowed a bit as his eyes traced over the pale form of the Kalona not far off. "Good eve.." he said, his tenor voice filled with curiosity...which was probably the only reason that he had spoken to the male anyway.

Ariston turned to the voice he heard, and felt his eyes widen. A dark but glorious soquili he had never seen stood beside him. "Haallo." He said, stupidly, still a bit in awe. He shook his expression off, and continued "And who might you be?" standing, more stable than before. "My name is Ariston, its a pleasure.."
He continued to naturally eye the figure in front of him, hoping he wouldn't get werided out. The stallion in front of him was indeed beautiful, but Ariston found himself scoffing after a few minutes, and he returned back to thinking about himself. He was interested, though, in what was up with this stallion. He had many beautiful features, but yet lacked something that Ariston couldn't pin point right away.

Vudeux folded his wings tenderly across his back as he carefully watched the stallion before him. He tilted his dark head for a moment, his indigo eyes watching over the seemingly flawless coat, nearly glowing by the light of the silver moon. Still he couldnt rightly put himself at ease...there was something odd about this soquili that extended far beyond those odd wings.
His voice snapped Vudeux's attention back to the presant and he slowly nodded his head, the chains around his neck lightly chiming as he moved. "I'm Vudeux." he said simply, lacking in social graces he found himself not really sure how to react to this stallion. He seemed plesant enough but there was somthing that whispered in his ears and pulled at the back of his neck, something was off.

"Vudeux.." Ariston tilted his head. "That is quite a name, you wear it well." He watched the stallion carefully, and forced a smile. "I must say, until I met you I have not encountered any other soquili that I have actually complemented before.." He narrowed his eyes a bit, forcing out the doubt in his head. There was no way this stallion was better than him, but what was making him second guess himself?
He walked forward a bit and gazed into the sky to get Vudeux out of his head for a second. He carefully let his wings out, feeling the tips rise higher and higher. It was as if he was challenging the very sky in beauty. When his mind was at ease, and full of itself again, he slowly shifted his eyes back to Vudeux, while still allowing his wings to move freely.

Vudeux looked at him with a masked expression that read of boredom. In all reality his intrest was quite peeked by this strange stallion, and perhaps he was even a little scared. There was an air around this strange pure best that was unsettling...And what did he mean that he wore his name well?
His eyebrows lightly raised as he looked at the stranger, really unsure if that was an off handed complament or not. "Thank you." he managed to say at last, probably sounding foolish.
"You have very strange wings." he said at length as the male before him slowly streched his wings into the sky. His own wings gave a pang of that framilue ache from that break not so long ago. They where already screaming at him for his short flight this eve.

Ariston cringed his teeth together for a second, as he listened to Vudeux speak. "Strange..wings?" He felt his body getting hotter as his bloodstream pumped faster. What nerve, he thought. Even if it wasn't meant as something insulting, to Ariston, a comment not about his perfection brought out a different side to him.
"Well I am a Kalona," He said, proudly, as his eyes got colder and harsher. "Is that such a shocker?" Through his perfect and angel-like shell of a body, ran twisted Kalona blood that would shift his mood at any given time. He may have had different motives than the other Kalonas, but he was as proud if not prouder of who he was in actuality. He knew that his beauty and pureness brought out a more beautiful side to the Kalona race. He couldn't have asked for anything else in life.
He moved his wings back into a more relaxing positition and snorted elegantly. How silly, he thought to himself. He wasn't looking for a fight in any way, but he himself was as confused as Vudeux looked, and wasn't sure what to expect at this point.

Vudeux blinked a bit as the mask of regal politeness the soquili wore suddenly shattered into rage and discust. Vu braced himself for an onslaught not really knowing how his words had triggered such a reaction. Then all at once it seemed as if he regained his composure and stood there elegant as ever.
The dark stallion raised an eyebrow and slowly raised his head to look at the Kalona stallion. A Kalona... that would explain those silly looking wings. Still, they had to be more useful than his own at this point. As the stallion moved it was then he noticed the twin horns atop his head...and this made him blink. There was only one other soquili he had ever met with a horn, and it was only one. He smirked inwardly at the thought that this soquili too was also born from a Goat. Certainly that was not the case, but the aspect amused him to no end.
Vudeux couldn't fathom what ues horse had atop a horses head, frankly he found them an abomination, but he was wise enough not to let his tongue slip and spout his opinions. Perhaps he did have a bit of social grace, and not all hope was lost.
"I see." he said at last, once all the laughter had left his mind. "Kalona... " he said again, he had heard such a term before but couldnt rightly pin point what that ment. Maybe it ment born of the Goat and the bat. Again he hushed his mind, thoughts like this would do the already injured stallion no good. He masked his inner laugher with a smile, though it was a meek one at best. "Well I can say you are the first I have had the pleasure to meet...and not one I shall soon forget."

Ariston turned his head a bit and responded, "The first you have met? Interesting.." He thought for a second, throwing his head back and letting his hair fly for a brief instant. "Although I am proud of the fact I am a Kalona, I try to to not incorporate myself with many of their ideals. The are extremely violent, angry, and just plain ugly by my standards." He laughed for a second, jokingly, and focused back in. "But in all seriousness, I really only incorporate myself with one other Kalona friend, which is Wrath. The rest don't take me seriously, but its better that way. I'm sure once you meet some more, you will see what I mean." Living the life of a Kalona was harder than it looked, especially since he was more beautiful then all of them. He kept his own tactics to himself most of the time, only because he believed they were brilliant in a different way.
Ariston looked for a second and Vudeux's wings, and stared briefly at them. They appeared to be shaking, and under some stress. "It is nice to see other Soquili with the gift of fight, though, your wings look like something is wrong.." He tilted his head again, and wasn't sure what the problem was.

Vudeux nodded his head a bit, it was best not to judge everyone by their race, and the Kalona race seemed to have some really horrable skeletons in their closet. Who knew really want stories where true or not. Still...the stallion found it hard to let his guard down, dispite this stallion before him had given him really no indication he would do any harm.
For a breif moment he let a smile pass over his face and he nodded his head, his dark locks coming to rest fashionably over one eye. "I see... well I can respect that. I dont often assicate with.. well anyone. " he shruged his shoulders a little bit and smirked.
As the pale stallion moved and his golden hair fell over his shoulders and barely touched the ground, Vu couldnt help but be lightly amazed. He wasnt half as scary as the stories made Kalona out to be. In fact, this stallion was simply beautiful. He snorted a bit, such silly thoughts. Now if he had been a mare... that would have been a sight to see. As a male though, he must certainly have a hord of mares after him.
He chuckled softly to himself and brought his thoughts back to the question that had been asked of him. "Oh...well yes.." he paused, not knowing if he should disclose the fact that he had been wounded.. stories said Kalona would eat other horses if given a chance. Taking a chance, and swolloing his pride Vu looked back at hs wing and streched it out, wincing a bit as the mucles pulled against the mending bone. "I Broke it not to long ago. It's on the mend though..."

Ariston watched the quiet stallion, and then felt relief when he heard him say he does not associate with anyone. "There is no reason to, of course." Ariston shrugged and continued. "Many Soquili see life differently then how I see it. Do you not associate with them just because of choice, or because of inferiority?" He was interested to know, for the stallion in front of him had a different personality than some of the other crazy Soquili he had met.
As Vudeux explained about his wing, Ariston watched his face wince and the feeling of its movement. "Accidents happen," Ariston said, but almost dissapointedly, "Its a shame for beauty to be injured. You best heal up soon so you will be able to roam the skies again." If there was one thing Ariston despised, it was lack of beauty. He imagined Vudeux conquering the night sky at night, but how could he show off when his wing was injured?
Ariston watched the stallion once more, this time a bit more comfortable. He really had no reason to have any hostile thoughts, for the mindset of the stallion in front of him seemed a bit just like his own. Vudeux also did not seem to be making any other 'Kalona' judgements, so Ariston was relieved. He couldn't image the crap these Soquili have had to put up with with those annoying and ugly Kalona. Beauty always interested Ariston, and the fact that Vudeux was not trying to upstage him made him relaxed, and able to actually talk to someone.

The dark stallions pale indigo eyes restes on Ariston as the silver moonlight caressed his pale form. It was strange that he was even lingering here, having this converstaion. Perhaps it was his wing that was making him act so strange, his pride wounded and a bit of humilty set it. Shrugging his shoulders and putting his thoughts aside he responded. "Mostly out of perferance... I like my solitude. " he said.
As the stallion went on to talk about his wing he nodded his head and took the comments to heart. "Thank you..." his gaze turned to the sky and he sighed. "Believe me...I cant wait until I can fly for more than a few minutes at a time... I do miss it." he caught himself and droped his gaze, snapping himself out of his day dream like state. It was better not to talk about such things openly, after all he didnt want to be seen as 'soft'.

"As do I.." Ariston agreed. He did enjoy meddling with other Soquili, especially the mares, but he enjoyed his alone time the most. It was true that he was his own biggest fan, and that is why he enjoyed gleaming to himself the most.
Ariston couldn't imagine what Vudeux was going through. He himself had never had an injury, for he wasn't afraid of getting hurt, but of obtaining scars. "They will heal soon enough, it always feels like ages but it will pass." He said, as kindly as he could. He did feel a sense of compassion, for the stallion in front of him was involved in himself, just like Ariston was. He had respect for his solitude, and was glad he ran into him. Other Soquili had been driving him mad with their nonsense and fakeness, but Vudeux brought none of that. He was just himself, and that's all Ariston wanted from others. He also had a strong sense of Pride, and Ariston also liked that.
"So how will you return to where you rest if you cannot fly back? I hope I am not keeping you awake, though the evening is beautiful." It was true, the moon was shinning off of their backs, reflecting a strange comfort that made the meeting more enjoyable.

Vudeux nodded his head and light a light chuckle escape him. "How odd then in a twist of fate that us who value our solitude have come together on this night and sparkled conversation." A small smirk played on his face for he did fight that fact all too amusing.
The stallion looked back at his wing and nodded his head. "It will, it has already progressed in leaps and bounds since it happened. In time no one will even be able to tell. Still.. I shall always remember what happened, and how I let my pride get the better of me. " he said. For it had been due to his pride, his need to win and show off that he had tripped and fallen into that hole on that sandy beach. His wind gave a dull ache at the memory.
"I have no place to really call home. My home is under this wide sky. " He said. "I'll manage, I assure you. How about you?"

Ariston felt his composed grin bend more into a smile, as he realized the same thing that Vudeux mentioned. It was strange for him to stand there and talk to another stallion, for usually no one could put up with him. He was more relaxed, and didn't feel the need to impress Vudeux. He had never had such a thing before.
He looked at Vudeux's wings and thought for a second, then saying, "I find nothing wrong with that. You did what you thought was right, and following your Pride is the strongest way to go." He nodded, letting his thoughts come out. "You will heal, but at least this way you followed what you knew you had to do." Although Ariston physically never did such things with his pride, he was definitely one who opened his mouth according to whatever thought he felt was important.
"Heh, I am very much the same. I get bored with one place, and always end up moving around." He chuckled to himself. "I try to follow wherever the mares go." He let out a small laugh and shook his hair.
