I was wondering, what if Ryuk wrote different rules in the beggining? How would the story change?! So, I posted this topic to see what you guys would have put down if you were Ryuk!

Imagine if there were actually an eraser, like in the short manga that preceded Death Note...the story would change sooo much.
Also, if Ryuk didn't include the Shinigami eyes trade, then a lot would've changed.

Just to be ridiculous...
If you do not give the Shinigami that possesses you a red apple every 6 hours, you will die instantly when you or anyone else uses the death note.

How about this one?
If you use the death note for other purposes aside from using the death note to kill, a phone call will be made to you via long distance by a little girl notifying you that you will die in 7 days. You may not have contact with anyone or eat anything, especially red apples. Otherwise, you will die instantly and noisily.

but yeah. transferring ownership by touching the note would be cool. but that would change the story completely lol

I have one.
Those who write their own name into the DEATH NOTE will be controlled by the description, and the time of death must be written within 40 seconds.

even though the shinigamis dont need a rift to get through but it wouls still be cool
