Pt. 2
"We're all staying in the church on North st. and there's only ten of us.
The snow keeps falling and the skies are black with lightning and ash.

The man sitting next to me, as I write this, is crying gently into a little girl's doll. I can only imagine it's his daughter's because the name "Lucy" is stiched on the back.

The heat flashes are few and far between now.

Prt. 3
"The rain is deadly.
I found the crying man face down in a puddle yesterday, he was pretty dead so I took the liberty of lifting his doll.

I cut the patch out of the back with the name on it and burned the rest.
The rest of the survivors carried the crying man's corpse to the back forty-acres and buried it, underneath the yellow sky and the black clouds.

Consider the man and the apple.

The last apple tree in the world stood on a cliff edge, dead with only one infertile apple laying on the ground next to it.

One man laments on the loss of a great thing, and pitches himself to his death on the rocks.

The last man picked up the fruit and ate it, keeping the core in his bag with him all the time to show people that at one point in history, a thing called an apple existed...

I took the patch and sewed it to the inside of my jacket.
So ********' sue me."

Prt. 4
We left the church a week ago after the roof caved in from the weight of the ashes. I split with the rest of the group after I picked their pockets in their sleep.
The cars didn't work, none of the electronics worked; a nuclear bomb emits an electro-magnetic pulse that shuts down all nearby electronics.
I'm going to head East towards the rising sun.
