Jett wandered through the mall, one of his hands tightly gripped in Raven's. The little boy glanced about-- there was something strange about this place, the way the entire mall seemed to reverberate with sound, strange noises he couldn't understand because they were altogether too loud and too strangely rightly wrong.

It was a much better day for Altessa; she was in a better mood, even though her look was still sullen, but at least she wasn't with that incompetent mage!
"Shopping, shopping..." Raine muttered, walking next to Altessa and glancing up from the list every so often. She was a fairly pretty woman, and resembled Kanth very much, though wore a bit different clothes than Kanth normally would - for one, she wore goggles, and for two, she could be labeled as a 'geek', considering there was a My Little Pony on her shirt. Heart Throb, to be exact. And a short jean vest, a tool kit at her side with a hammer hanging from it...
Yeah. Geek.
"Graaah, this is so hard, considering that I can't buy the stuff I need... just groceries. How did you guys stand it?" Raine whined.
Altessa smirked - just slightly - before turning roughly and running right into the boy. She whirled and turned, about to hiss in the other's face for not watching where he was standing.

Pain. Jett recognized this sensation. He also recognized-- dimly through the sensation of pain-- Raven's gasp as surprise. Pain. Surprise. Two different ideas. Sensations. Something should be said. Very belatedly, the little boy murmured an 'ow' under his breath. Correct.
A little... D-corp-- because Raven didn't know whether to call those kids 'kids' or... something else-- ran into Jett. Raven's maternal instinct bristled before the companion registered. Raven almost thought she'd spotted one of her childhood friends-- until the My Little Pony registered. Around then the resemblance to Kanth broke through Raven's haze to attack.
...great. Pulling Jett close, Raven glanced between D-corp and... person. "Um. Hello."

A hiss was uttered from Alt's mouth before Raine clamped a hand over it, earning a hard blink from the girl but nothing more.
"I'm sorry," Raine murmured softly, smiling sheepishly. "Small world..." She blinked and crouched to Jett's level, beaming. "He's such a cutie!"
Alt glowered, almost wanting to take the spotlight, but that would have undesirable consequences. Therefore, she was happy with just glaring at the spider.
Seeing the animosity from Altessa, Raine stood back up and introduced herself. "Forgive me. I'm Raine, and this is Altessa." She pushed the girl forward, though kept a firm grip on her shoulders.

Jett blinked once, then again. Hiss. Sound of... anger. Frustration. Occasionally pain, but he felt pain, other didn't. Other. Altessa. Female. The older of the strange pair-- like Medusa's... other. Parent. Not quite parent, but almost. Nearly.
Names put Raven at ease-- now she had a better way of defining these two! "I'm Raven, and this is Jett," she explained, placing her hand gently on Jett's head. "Altessa's quite adorable herself," she added, smiling gently at the D-corp. "You know, Raine, I have to say... you remind me of someone."

"... oh?" Raine's smile faded slowly. "I... actually get that a lot. I don't quite understand it, but..." She shrugged, the smile returning. There was no reason to be down, but she just wanted to be herself.
Altessa disliked being called 'adorable'. She was supposed to be ferocious! She bared her teeth at the woman, already disliking her.

"I didn't mean to offend-- it's just the way my brain stores information," Raven blinked slightly. "Pieces of people come together to make another person, y'know?" Blah. She was having trouble with this, wasn't she? Blame it on the insomnia.
Jett noticed Altessa's teeth-baring action and considered it. Anger. Strange anger-- directed at Raven. But there wasn't a reason for anger, was there? Gently disentangling himself from Raven, the little boy moved towards Altessa slowly.

"Aaahhh." Raine gave a nod, seeming to think for a moment. "Well, since we're here... perhaps you could help me out a little?" The woman rubbed the back of her neck. "I uh... never went shopping before." Period, though she didn't mention that little detail. "Here. Never went shopping here before. Hahaha."
Altessa turned her head and stared at the boy, eyes wide and dangerous, almost as if she dared him to try something.

Jett smiled slightly as he continued moving towards Altessa. She was... the strangest creature he'd ever seen-- even more so than Medusa because Medusa was roughly his size and transluscent, not this strange... green. Not tail and claws and anger.
"Oh, of course!" Raven liked helping people. "What were you looking for, exactly?"

"Well... Io said there would be a supermarket of supermarkets here somewhere... but frankly, I'm pretty lost." She sighed.
Altessa remained shock still, though her eyes and hackles rising warned him clearly that she would attack without hesitation should he even so much as brush against her.

Jett stopped just in front of Altessa, watching her carefully. He knew better than to try to touch someone who looked like that, but he didn't back down either.
"The supermarket? Oh, it's on the other side of the mall," Raven smiled slightly. "Would you like me to show you?"

"Please!" Raine breathed, looking relieved.
Tilting her head to the side, Alt seemed to relax slightly, though turned and walked after Raine, all the while watching Jett.

Raven smiled, moving to take one of Jett's hands instinctively. "C'mon then-- we'll take the short way, if you don't mind dodging people. If you'd rather we take the long way and avoid them, we can do that too," she suggested, unsure.
Jett kept his eyes on Altessa, considering her. She was... so different than the other girls he'd met, so angry and vicious and interesting. Not that the others hadn't been interesting, just... not the same.

Raine just smiled in reply, following as she put both hands on Altessa's shoulders.
Altessa bristled, not from the fact that Raine was touching her, but at the fact that she was being stared at.
"Stop looking." She hissed rudely, showing her large row of fangs. Her mouth was immediately clamped over Altessa's mouth, making her blink in surprise then slump in slight defeat. It was impossible to anger or get Raine down; Tiil, however, was a completely different matter.

Mildly oblivious, Raven led the way through the mall, gently leading her little boy as well as Raine and her kid. "Malls aren't that hard-- they're pretty much all the same with slightly different layouts, y'know?"
Jett obeyed, strangely enough, turning his eyes from Altessa-- without any form of shame, just simple acceptance. Some people didn't appreciate his curiosity.
