I doubt that anyone knows how far this band really goes back. But Evanescence was formed in 1998 with the original two members, Amy Lee and Ben Moody. In 1999 they released a short EP titled Evanescence EP with tracks which would be rewritten and put on their first full length album, Origin released in 2000. They only made about 500 actual original copies of the album and only about 250 copies where actually sold all others were recalled by the label. So Amy and Ben went back to the studio with additonal members to record their masterpiece to date called Fallen which was released in 2003. Soon after the release of Fallen Ben Moody and Amy had grown apart and later Ben left the band completely right before recording for their next album was supposted to start. But instead the band continued to tour and in early 2006 the band entered the studio to record what would become The Open Door which was released on October 3, 2006. But those who pre-ordered their albums recieved a special bonus song called The Last Song I'm Wasting on You". Prior to the release, Evanescence teamed up with music video director, Marc Webb to shot their first single off of the album, Call Me When You're Sober.

It's weird... I'm not really into their old stuff as much as their new stuff - which I thought was pretty good.

I like everything starting from Origin mostly everything behind that is a bit weird and sounds very experimental to me. So I like the following:

Origin - 2000
Mystary EP - 2003
Fallen - 2003
Anywhere but Home [CD/DVD] - 2004
The Open Door - 2006

They don't play enough Eva here. Only what is on those crappy Marvel movies. Not very good representation
