We're a Web/Graphic design guild. So I figured, what's a web design guild without a website, right?
My idea:
To have a website that all the guild members have access to. This way we can all pitch in our graphic/web design skills into making one super cool, awesome looking website! (No templates.) All we need is an idea for what the website is to be about, and who we host with.
Post your ideas towards this here. wink

i was wondering the same thing when i joined
"wheres the...um...site?"
im in if you need flash done biggrin
IDEAS:
why waste time thinking about subject matter, when you could do a joint-portfolio site. Kind of like a group site where everyone can post recent work. That way, if someone from an off the wall place wants work done for $$, we could combine efforts and split the $ with whoever helps out. Not an original idea, but its a good way to get a webdesign group off the ground.

We could have the design people toss a PSD around with each other, have the people good with coding create/modify a system for the site.

I can do any php, sql, css, and html work needed. wink
@thegr8flashy: Sounds like a great idea.
We need to stick to a strict -No copying- and -No templates- rule. The site is going be 100% our own work.

I could create a sub-domain on my site. I barely use 2Gb of my 400Gb bandwidth limit. xd

one q from me:
if you want flash on the site, do you want it in bits and pieces, where the flash is integrated seamlessly with static parts of the site, and anythink that needs to be interactive can be built into flash, and then laid into the site.
IE: Banner, navigation, etc.
OR
Do you want an entirely flash site, where all the elements are put together into flash, and from there, it all depends on what you want it to do, as far as transitions (simple or complex), and graphics.
As far as I am concerned, the flash part will do itself as long as the graphics are good =)

I like the idea of flash banners and navigation.
If it's all done in flash, the coders will have nothing to do. sad

Hoggs I like the idea of flash banners and navigation. If it's all done in flash, the coders will have nothing to do. sad And then the designers have to do seomthing small.

Shadow in the dark Hoggs I like the idea of flash banners and navigation. If it's all done in flash, the coders will have nothing to do. sad And then the designers have to do seomthing small. How about just flash navigation, then everything else is up to the designers. wink

sounds good to me, just provide the graphics, and you'll have *flash*ified versions in no time. And I can do a couple of examples of different types of navigation systems once we get a good portion of the actual design down.
my process is fairly simple. And it doesnt take any of the potential work from the designers. Basically all you do is design a static version of the header, and then I take it into flash (or aftereffects for video editing). So what you make is what is used.
For the navigation, all you need to make is a background, and the text and any additional elements, I do either in aftereffects + flash, or photoshop + flash. Either way theres unlimited ways of doing things.

I looked at your site, awsome flash skills! xD For the Nav, what do you guys think about something along the lines of gaia's old flash nav, but k00ler? xd
