I think we should honor those cool people who want so much to be J-rock, but aren't Japanese. For instance, the almightly Chinese Silver Ash. They're awesome, both musically and visually and fit very well into the category of J-rock/Visual Kei. And, I'm not completely sure, but from what I've seen, Marilyn (spelling?) Manson of America seems to be quite worthy as well. *nods and honors*

Personally, I think Manson is just a wannabe J-Rocker who fails miserably.
Anyway, I have to give kudos to BoA (gasp! j-pop!) for making it in the J-Music industry without being Japanese (she's Korean). ^-^
Also, weren't some of the members from one of hide's bands American? They should be honorary J-Rockers as well.

I agree with the Manson sentiment... sweatdrop No offense to any fans. I hear he was a friend of hide's, though. And Pierrot opened for him once- to a pretty bad fan reaction, if I recall.
Whenever I try to think about how I got into the j-rock style of music, I always trace it back to a friend lending me an Orgy CD. So they're kinda my nominee. xd

I remember the Orgy video for Blue Monday and the opening for Stitches, when I think about it now they completely scream out JRock to me. >.<

I didn't know that he was friends with hide, or that Pierrot opened for him... and shame on those fans for not liking Pierrot! gonk

I dunno, maybe you guys are right about Marilyn Manson. I've only seen him once or twice (with boobs, but I was told they aren't permanent). I really fell in love with his voice though, and I think it's pretty J-rock that he's willing to go all Visual in America, which is pretty brave. By the way... this song.. Space Monkey Punks from Japan... Zilch? Would that be the whole hide and American kids thing?

I nominate The TraX. Perfect visual kei, but Korean. Actually, they do covers of X-Japan songs and several songs in Japanese. Not surprising, since they're associated with Yoshiki.

He went glam for a while when hide died in his memory.
