I think distance because it goes out far. But i never tried it yet

Cast as far as you can with whatever rod you have. You can catch stripers with the basic rod...just be sure you're casting out as far as possible.
Stripers love A and D bait, but they'll occasionally bite at F bait, too. smile

Are you casting absolutely to the maximum cast it will go? Right to the end of the red power bar? I know for a fact that the basic rod will catch stripers, because I've caught some with my mule account, and I don't have any fancy rods on that one. 3nodding Just the one issued at account creation. Now granted, I catch *more* stripers with this account and my Performance Plus rod...but it's still possible to get them with that basic rod. Just not as often.

And another piece of advice: Stripers are the strongest and fastest things in Bass'ken, Easy to notice! 3nodding

that is odd....i've caught many stripers with just d & f bait using a basic and a performance(not the plus) rods.keep trying though you'll get 1 yet smile

I've recently discovered that the distance rod is GREAT for Bass'ken fishing, because the best fish are found farther out.

biggrin yep with my distance + and either D or A bait i get a lot of them.its similar to catching a tuna at gambino.long cast & decent bait seems to work best smile
