"There are things I have done in the past that I am ashamed of. I have tried to forget these things many times, attempting to drive them out of my head, but to no avail. However, more often than not, the past comes back to haunt you. This has happened to me on more than one occasion, though there was one time where the ghosts of the past were so strong I thought they were going to destroy me themselves..." - Anyndur Be'lei, Year of the Sundered Moon
Hello, and welcome to my humble little thread. As some of you may or may not know, this is my first topic and post in The Crimson Ibis. Let's try to make this fun, eh?

Storyline
Once, in a time long forgotten, in a world long lost, there existed a holy order by the name of the Thousand Truths. They were the paragons of justice, upholding the law in the name of their God.
However, in the shadow of Order rises Chaos, this time in the form of an opposing order; the Tainted Ones. Followers of their own dark deity, they bring death and destruction to all those who would seek a happy and peaceful life.
War raged between the two factions for countless years, neither one of them taking any advantage. For the past few years, there has been a temporary relief against the Tainted One's assaults, though all know that this momentary peace will soon be replaced with the fires of war once more.
During this time, many young men and women were conscripted into the army of the Thousand Truths. Amongst those conscripts was a young elf by the name of Anyndur Be'lei, a simple farmer from a small countryside town.
He was taken to the capital city, Entireth, and was taught the basics of sword combat. His body already hardened through the labor that came with farming, Anyndur quickly caught on to the training. In naught but a few months, he was fighting amongst the best of the soldiers.
However, in the past few weeks, people have been wary of Anyndur, speaking in hushed voices while he was around, shunning him if he approached them. Something seemed wrong to the young elf, though he said nothing.
And then the assault came.
The Tainted Ones attacked at dawn, pounding on city doors with countless siege weapons. The Thousand Truths had waited for too long, had allowed the opposing faction to build up their forces. All was doomed.
During the initial assault, Anyndur was captured. Instead of being put to death instantly like all the other prisoners of war, he was taken to the head of the army, a lich by the name of Kez'dun, who was a powerful mage in a past life. When he was brought before the great wizard, the undead thing taunted him, teased him, saying he was too weak to do anything. When Kez'dun was done with him, he ordered the guards to take him away.
Anyndur endured long months of cruel and excrutiatingly painful torture. Each and every day, the lich king would come down to visit him, to taunt him. He would tell the poor elf of hidden powers, ones that he possessed, but was too weak to bring to the surface. He would then offer him an alliance, asking Anyndur to join forces with him, in exchange for being taught to harness this power.
One day, Anyndur accepted.
The elf, then twisted by the false fantasies of the lich Kez'dun, lead an assault against the Thousand Truth's main stronghold. Needless to say, the effect was devistating. Anyndur, wielding powers never before seen by man, ripped the opposing army to shreds, until he stood, covered in blood, before the Master, Delrith. He smiled in sadistic joy as he felt his blade cleave through the man's skull as he begged for mercy.
When Anyndur returned to the castle of the lich king, expecting praise and even more power, he was taken prisoner yet again. He had lived out his purpose; now he was to be executed. What Kez'dun had not thought of, however, was that he needed to bind Anyndur magically, as well as physically.
Bursting through the prison gates, killing all who got in his way, Anyndur ran through the castle, seeking only to save himself, leaving the other prisoners of war, his past comrades, behind. He knew that, as he ran over the long drawbridge, enemies on heel, that he would be deemed a traitor and an outlaw.
And that is how he lived; hiding in the shadows, under a false name, taking what he needed, killing all who wished him harm. He almost forgot his past life.
And then everything went wrong.
One day, as he was making his usual rounds across the trade village, stealing from the foolish merchants, the past resurfaced itself in the form of a Thousand Truth recruiter. As Anyndur noticed this man, and moved to make sure he would not meet him, the man yelled out. He had seen him, and knew who he was.
The chase was on; now that the Thousand Truths, and probably the Tainted Ones, as well, knew he was alive, nowhere was safe. He had only two options, and he liked neither; destroy the Thousand Truths, and regain favor with the Tained Ones, and return to the dark side, or vice versa.

Characters and Character Format
Gaian Name: Character Name: Race: Age: Height: Weight: Personality: Appearence: Weapon: Personal Background:
Gaian Name: Sqrly Wrth4 Character Name: Anyndur Be'lei Race: Elven Age: 129 Height: 5' 4" Weight: 172 lbs. Personality: Anyndur's personality has taken a downfall lately; his current situation has caused him to become somewhat introverted, never speaking unless necessary. He is somewhat lucky in this, as it helps him keep a low profile.
Appearence: Anyndur's overall appearence is somewhat different from that of the stereotypical elf. Instead of being a slim, almost fae creature, he is of solid build, muscle and weight increased through his life as a farmer. His eyes shine a deep green, with a somewhat feral look to them. He has relatively soft features, though his skin is tanned from working in the sun so much. His hair is a bright dirty-blonde color, bleached by the sun, as well. Scars are unseen through his leather armour, which he wears constantly, ever fearing an attack.
Weapon: Anyndur's weapon of choice, the longsword, is basic and unremarkable, though those who see him wield it in combat would say otherwise. A simple thing, forged from simple steel, is well worn, though still as good as new.
Personal Background: Born the only child of two simpleton elf farmers, Anyndur grew up a relatively simple boy. Never learning to read or write, and somewhat an outcast among the other children, he kept mostly to himself, which made his social status even worse. He grew strong working on the farm, however, and he settled more than a few arguments with his fists. It was for this reason that he was conscripted into the Thousand Truths, a mainly human order. There they taught him how to use a sword, and, to their surprise, he caught on quickly. He moved up through the ranks quickly, soon placed among the best of the best of the sword fighters. Then, the assault came from the Tainted Ones, and he was captured. The lich king, Kez'dun, poisoned his mind through torture and lies, and he fell to the darkness. He assisted the chaotic order in their assault and payed the price, soon after returning from the successful raid. The lich king, who had taught him to harness powers unimaginable to mankind, threw him into the cells again, ordering his execution. He broke free, however, and lived for many years as a outlaw and renegade. It wasn't until a Thousand Truth recruiter saw him that fateful day that he was bothered; he stole everything he needed, and killed only when necessary. Now, however, he is on the run, debating which side to help.

Rules
Okay here are the rules; pretty simple, really:
1. Follow the Gaia TOS, of course. 2. The Crimson Ibis rules are also expected to be followed. 3. No Godmodding, of course. 4. Please, try to keep the content PG-13. I would like this roleplay to have content suitable for everyone. 5. PM me the bio's, and check to see if it is added to the list. If it is, feel free to post. If it is not there within the day, however, that means that I have deemed it not suitable, and, as such, you are not supposed to post here. 6. I will deem above bio PM's suitable based upon a sample of your roleplaying that must be included in the PM. 7. Don't overdue the swearing. Please. 8. I will, of course, add more rules as I see necessary.
