Here's a little game, for us Geezers to play, It involves songs, and clothes, hence the title cool
To play you have to post a line of a song that mentions an item of clothing, but not just any old item, oh no, a colour or brand must be mentioned too 3nodding
For example.."these boots are made for walking" talk2hand doesn't cut it but... "blues suede shoes" 3nodding that's what it's all about cool
2 little guide lines..the colour/brand and garment need to be mentioned in the same line, and don't just Google hoards of them, these should be songs that you know 3nodding
so, post the line.. then the artist and title, unless the item is in the title of course then you don't need to post the lyric.
All collected lyrics will be complied in the second post 3nodding
Have fun whee

"I've got a guy and his name is Dooley, he's my guy and I love him truly. He's not good lookin' but Heaven knows... I'm wild about his crazy clothes.
He wears... Tan shoes with pink shoelaces a polka-dot vest and man-o-man, he wears tan shoes with pink shoelaces and a big Panama with a purple hat band."
Pink Shoelaces by Dodie Stevens. (Although the version I have is by the Chordettes.)
PS. Would more exotic materials used in the construction of clothing count, such as the items expressly worn in "Who Do You Love?" (I don't know if he wrote it, but George Thoroughgood is the only version I can think of right now.)

Jeez! That's quite a list, Sisu!
I'm going to throw out something from one of Umberella's favorite bands, the Dukes of Stratosphere:
"Brown was the colour of the mud across the Somme Red was the blood you spilled upon it Pink were the fingers of the nurse who dressed your wound White was the starch upon her bonnet And you married that nurse And her name was Else And then along came dad
...I'll have another pint of...
Brown is the colour of your old walking boots Green is the cash you'd love to squander Gold is the colour of your wife's faithful heart So get yourself home, no more to wander And you married that nurse And her name's still Else And another child was had You're a good man Albert Brown " - "You're a Good Man Albert Brown" by Dukes of Stratosphere
Also, two classics about white pieces of clothing:
"A white sportscoat and a pink carnation I'm all dressed up for the dance A white sports-coat and a pink car-na-tion I'm all alone in romaaaaaance ...." - "White Sports Coat (and a Pink Carnation)," by Marty Robbins
"Black coat, white shoes, blackhat, cadillac The boy's a time bomb Black coat, white shoes, blackhat, cadillac - The boy's a time bah-ahmb !" - "Time Bomb," by Rancid

Lil brat- that one is cool. Irridecent IS a color. *grin*
Harbone - I can't believe I missed the Marty Robbins song! My Mom LOVES him and I grew up listening to him. The other ones are cool too!
Poppetta - I wasn't sure about the lyrics In "Lady in Red" because he DOES mention her dress, and the color of it... just not right together. =)
And I have never seen that dress you're wearing, Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes, I have been blind;
The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek,
biggrin
I'll have to look up some more later on. this is fun! =)
