He finished third at Martinsville. It's good to see him scoring a top 5. It's very refreshing to see someone other than Roush, Hendrick, Gibbs, Childress or Evernham finish a race really well. I thought he would get past Johnson and Hamlin at the end from the way those 2 were beating on each other in the dying laps.

bobby labonte and jeff burton are my two favorite drivers..what got me angry is that it's always jimmie johnson stealing the win from bobby labonte....2004 in darlington 2005 in charlotte 2006 in martinsville

bobby's in 19th in points now....for a petty car in the top 20, that's incredible....his crew chief is the same one who won the 1992 championship with alan kulwicki

It's about time we saw a Petty car running somewhat well again. Do you think next year they can run in the top 15?

I think so. Hell, they may even make a run at the chase!

think about it though...he's 19th right now and has had 7 dnf's...a lot of them, in races where he was running well

Man, if they can keep their engines running at the end of more races next year than they will make the chase. I sure hope at least Labonte makes it next year. He's not likely to contend for the championship but if he can at least finish 8th than I think they could carry that momentum over to 2008.

Richard Petty said it best: "To finish first, you must first finish."
The engines are a big factor they need to sort out. But I think if they get that under control, they could be a contender. Maybe evn win a race!

Maybe they could buy engines from Evernham or Penske. Just a thought.

Triple Homicide Maybe they could buy engines from Evernham or Penske. Just a thought. they are buying engines from evernham, that's why their performance has been better...and don't be too sure about bobby not competing for another championship, nobody(except me) though burton would be the odds on favorite to win the 2006 championship last year

I think it's really cool to see Petty Cars up front again. Even Kyle's doing better. Maybe they've just improved their R&D, and other stuff. PS: At the beginning of the chase the 2 drivers with the greatest chance to win the cup were Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin because of their chase stats.
