So, did anyone see it? What did you all think?
I myself was very impressed. The whole thing was a fair bit darker than I had imagined, but it was still totaly awsome (a fact which is likely to become a running theme). It had some nice little touches of humour, and had some good characters, who I felt they managed to represent fairly realistically.
So, what did people think? What do you think we have to come? What do you think will happen next episode? And just how awsome do you think Captain Jack is?

i liked it. it was a lot darker then i thought it would be... andi did find it quite funny

I loved it...more then I'd like to admit.
I now need approximately three torchwood banners and another captain jack one lol.
But seriously folks. Amazing, and I didn't think this was possible, but I do beleive I've fallen even further in love with Captain Jack.
I was genuinly scared that they'd let me down. That I had gotten myself all hopped up and excited, just to be disappointed. Thank god I was wrong.

It was a better start than I was expecting. I like that they didn't avoid referring to events in Doctor Who, yet didn't make it totally incomprehensible to someone that doesn't watch it.
There's something creepy about Jack's obsession with the Doctor's severed hand. Is it just me, or was it actually twitching when Jack was holding it? Of course one wonders how it managed to survive that fall from the Sycorax ship. Maybe it regenerated? Would that technically make it the 11th Doctor's hand???
If Toshiko's a computer expert, why did UNIT drag her down to examine the space piggy in WWIII?
They need to make a CSI:Cardiff... xd

That CSI line bout killed me too...
Along with...

Everyone watching it with me burst into hysterics at that one...Jacks first official classic one liner of the series...he had some other good ones...but thats the best thus far in my opinion.
I like gwen a lot. She's so very...human. She just is. There isn't another way for me to put that to clairfy it either...which sucks.

Excellent stuff so far. They're clearly having fun with the ability to do different things because of the post-watershed time slot; hooray for blood, swearing, and monsters that feed off orgasms.
And Captain Jack rocks even harder than I thought he did prior to this, which is quite an achievement.

Am I the only one who was caught off-guard by the end of Episode 1? I mean, it was all going along without any big surprises, and then... wtf, Suzie is a serial killer and Jack is indestructable?! eek

One thing I'm glad about is that they didn't make Torchwood 3 out to be a "good" part of the Torchwood Institute. Jack and his team are pretty much as callus as the folks in Torchwood 1, at least until Gwen showed up.

I was only able to watch the first episode. I'm watching the other one on Wednesday. I have to say I loved it though!

I enjoyed spotting all the Doctor Who references, but I have to say I was a bit freaked out by Susie and Gwen's discussion at the end as well. Dad reckons that the "standing on top of buildings" stuff was a bit like Dark Angel, but as I've never seen that, I don't know. You could definitely tell it was a Russell T Davies episode though with the sort of gags he got in there!
