I know I may be acting like a Jrock nazi. But EVERYTIME I get into something thats dorky, different, or uniquely me and my friends, Hot Topic starts commercializing it less than 6 months later. For instance, Jrock, they have Jrock at Hot Topic now. I swear to god, go to most people on the street in America, play Miyavi, Dir En Grey, Malice Mizer, Gazette, An Cafe, they will not like it. But damnit, if they add more Jrock to Hot Topic, everyone knows all the emo goth posers who would truely not give anime or Jrock the time of day, are going to suddenly supposedly have been Jrock fans all of their life.
Thank you, I am done lol.

If jrock seeps into the emo scene, there will be bodies. Many of them.
Seriously, though. I do agree with you. It is nice to be an exclusive community of dedicated fans. If jrock goes mainstream in the U.S....crap. :{
Hot Topic is grossly overrated anyway. We should set it on fire...
I mean. Nothing.

Yeah I agree lets set it on fire. I'll make my own jrock t shirts if I have no,not buy them o_O and the dir en grey shirt looks like s**t anyways biggrin I don't like the skull or wutever the ******** it is on it lol. And they are also selling dir en grey cds,so the emo goth posers are going to be LISTENING! to the musik and wanting to learn japanese and s**t! I have liked jrock for like 10 monthes to a year now. So I am a true fan,not a person who JUST heard about jrock. Gets me pissed that I finally found something unique and to set me apart from other people. And all that work isn't going to pay off when it goes mainstream cause then everyone is going to call ME a poser. Even thow I listened to it before half of these new people that are going to start liking it. ARG. I mean its great that jrockers are wanting to come to the U.S.A and stuff, but why did they have to start selling the stuff at hottopic! That store is overrated and not unique what so ever! Ok I'm done lol sorry lol ok not done yet ******** ******** ******** ok done biggrin

Well... sweatdrop
It doesn't do any good to be too critical. Not all of these kids are going to be shits who just say, "HEY LOLZ lets start a lame trend." Some of them, most likely, WILL end up liking the music. And will develop into true fans.
Besides, bitching gets you no where in society... rolleyes
But lets just keep to hoping that jrock doesn't go too mainstream...and the fire thing. That still sounds appealing. heart

Personally, I think that jrock needs more fans here. If there's a larger fanbase, it would be more likely that some of these bands would come [in my case] to North America for tours. Which would be awesome, neh? But there would have to be a line drawn somewhere. Like, the people who are all like "OMGZ 2 MONTH DIEHARD JROCK FAN!! ILU KYO UR MY HUSBAND!" make me want to shoot myself in the face >_<
...I notion the HotTopic burning...

I don't mind if people actually become fans, but for instance, The Nightmare Before Christmas. I bet you half the people who just LOVE it now, could have cared less before Hot Topic started advertising it. And with old cartoons like Rainbow Bright, care bears, Strawberry Shortcake, how many of them actually watched the cartoons when they were little? Did they even know they were cartoons? I know I watched them, I loved those cartoons. But I'm not walking around sporting them. Also, here's a lame example, but a good one, Good Charlotte, I swear, 3 years ago, to most people, they were the s**t, now they're lame as hell. If they were true fans, they wouldn't have followed the crowd, and remained to be true die-hard fans. But I never liked Good Charlotte to begin with sweatdrop

I will be sad and angry if Jrock comes into the scene at hot topic. I think it would be cool to have concerts but i don't want little wannabes fawning over Jrock stars that they only like because its the "In thing"
I remember strawberry shortcake V_V how i miss it. I like when you have kids who weren't even born during the time when half those cartoons where on. I may not fully remember them but my older sister made me watch it for a very long time.
Where are the gas cans and matches so i may set hot topic on fire..?

ANYWAY i was happy when they came to hottopic 'cause its a close place that i can buy the merchandise. i also want more people to become fans, let the love of Diru and other Jrock spread, as long as it doesnt go overboard and false fans start liking them just 'cause the steryotypical 'Goth' and 'Emo' people like the depressing lyrics...

So if people in America start loving them, the chances of them coming here may lessen. I just don't want Jrock to become some trend like Good Charlotte, for a year or two, everyone loved them, now if you admit liking them, you're a loser.

I feel very unwelcome here o(x~x)o I've only been a JRock fan since November, or at least very interested in it. Sure, my Top 25 songs on my iPod are mainly Japanese, but I'm not just doing it because someone told me to. I'm this way out of free will. I found out a bands name looked it up and expanded. Yes, I love the artists I listen to, but I'm really not the insane type i.e. KYO ILU! MARRY ME! But, that's mainly because I'm not really into Dir en Grey xD. I'm not this way because of Hot Topic, mainly because I'm Canadian. We have no Hot Topic. As much as I want my favorite bands to come here, I'd rather them not. For them to come here they'd have to be popular. That is the last thing I want, because I want JRock to make me different, not the same.
People will probably start faking knowledge of it. There's a girl on my bus and I heard her say "Oh yeah, I love Japanese music!" I wanted to punch her. Why? THE ONLY JAPANESE SONG SHE LISTENS TO IS TERIYAKI BOYZ-TOKYO DRIFT! I think next time she says that I'll go up to her and ask her what her favorite Diru song is(Yeah, that sentence looks contradicting to my "I'm not really into Diru" statement. I actually have some of their music from the Gauze era). Or I'll do a trick question like "Don't you love Dong Bang Shin Ki and Bae Seul Gi?" She'd probably be all "Yeah! Best Japanese artists ever!" and I'd be "Ha, they're Korean". Please don't flame me for only liking Japanese music for a few months....

Hm... I REALLY hope J-Rock doesn't go mainstream... the only reason I like hot topic's J-rock selling is because now it's easier to buy Shoxx... ninja But I wouldn't mind buying it elsewhere if it means J-Rock going mainstream.

[i have only been a jrock fan for months..i feel like a n00b TT^TT] hopefully it wont happen..too many people are into other fads such as 'emo','scene','rap[w/e]'and such..
