It is Midsummer, and it is approaching midnight. I am standing outside in
the comfortable heat and humidity. It's not hot or moist enough to be dis-
comforting. It's like being wrapped in a warm blanket. It feels nice. I'm
looking up at the beautiful Moon on this dark, clear night, and I get the
urge to leave out a bowl of milk for the wee folk. So I go back inside and
fill a small bowl with a little bit of milk, and I walk across the backyard to
the bushes and I place the bowl on the soil near them. I return to the deck,
and I look back out at the sky and the yard and I'm just so perfectly there.
I close my eyes and I feel a gentle, warm breeze lazily move passed me.
And when I open my eyes, there is a sudden, small burst of light that races
across the yard from the bush where I had placed the bowl, vanishing under
the deck below me. Ah! One of the wee folk made an appearance tonight!
This is so wonderfully auspicious.
