"Warlock"...I can't remember what language it was, but it meant "oath breaker" or "truth twister" and is quite a derrogatory term. Unfortunately, my knowledge on this is limited...

If someone else has more in-depth info, it would be most appreciated.

I've read somewhere online, that if someone broke or left the covent they were in, they were called a 'warlock.' I don't know how true this is, but it's just what I've read.

On a side note, there is no seperation between male and female witches, they are both called witches. The only reason, I believe, a seperation came about was because of Hollywood and how Puritans, Catholics, Christians, ect... believed it was more plausible for a women to make a 'pact with the devil,' for that is what they believed a witch did, then a man.
