I thought there was a portential for a 'kind' of relationship between Raito and Misa. I kept on thinking we'd get a bit more about it...right untill the last chapter.
I mean, those two. These two lived in completely different 'worlds' - completely different in mindset. The cruel and divious man and the child-wife. There was never going to be 'love' here in any normal useage of the word.
Raito is apparently asexual with his thrills coming from outwitting others (XD). However, he needs somebody to wash his socks, right? On the othe hand, Misa only really loves Raito as a 'ideal' and a 'savior' (as opposed to who he really is as a person)
So, they both kind of need of other (stretching the word 'need' here, I know)... also the both of them are blindly reaching for something pretty unachivable. (eg. Raito wants World Domination... Misa wants Raito's love)
Then, after the series ended I felt dissapointed that their relationship (whatever it was) hadn't been fully explored. I even attempted a bit of fanfiction.
Did anybody else feel that there was a plot point just missed here? ...or am I on my own?
Sorry this post is a little dysfunctional. It's half one in the morning for me.

These are the sad things about shounen manga. See if this was a Shoujo manga there would be probebly more of the romance. But since shounen has a focus on more of mind matter and action and less romance. Yeah I wish there had been more of them "moments" Im a totall Riato x Misa supporter and I can wait for the anime eps to come out with her in it! ^^ There will be tons of amvs! But I am making fan art of Riato x Misa for the competition so keep that in mind Who know what I'll draw. xD

eee, cute screen name '.Misa-san'! 3nodding
Yeah, romance does tend to happen much slower with Shonen manga... but this relationship was so warped already, it just seemed it would appeal to the writers. I mean, they clearly liked this sort of thing.
Same, I'm hoping the anime will fit in all that stuff that was missed. I just think we could have great comedy gold moments with the police team! Matsuda heart
...and theres no way they could miss out some more Misa-MIsa stuff. *crosses fingers*
Great siggie pic by the way! i love the way you got your hair!!

I agree, that since this is a shonen manga, there wouldnt have been much romance anyway. I think that its pretty clear that Raito is using Misa throughout the entire thing, while she is too blinded by her love for him to see this. I think even if she did know, she wouldnt mind. She did say she just wanted to be useful to him anyway. Maybe he liked having her in his thrall?

I really did not like Misa, she was very retared and I wished she died instead of everyone else , but without the eyes Raito would not have gotten far with his evil plans blaugh

confused even though i hate to admit it, before raito discovered the death note, i think he was cabable of actually falling for someone. if things had gone in the right direction... sweatdrop then maybe he could have fallen for misa.
but then again, it IS a shonen manga, and i think raito would only find himself falling for someone a bit more intellegent.

Well if a man ever fall for Misa it has to be because she is stupid and easy to use. blaugh Miss Takada is the perfect girl for Raito I guess biggrin
