 Nyunya's claws scratched against the slope that led up to the cave where her friend resided, digging in to give her better purchase. Since having a considerable growth spurt - by her standards, at least - and coming to the age where she would be considered, perhaps, young adult, this climb had gotten much easier. It took less than a minute, and when she reached the top, her breathing wasn't even strained.
"Liza?" she called out, loud but not too loud.
She hoped he was well-rested. Although, knowing Liza, he was likely asleep, just waiting for her call. She'd woken this morning and decided this was it; this was the day she would finally leave. Once she got the idea, it had to be done, before she let herself talk her out of it. She was big enough, strong enough, and independant enough. She would be ok. She would have Liza with her, and if things got really bad, she could always go and visit the friends she'd made for familiarity and comfort. No, this trip into the outside world didn't seem too terrifying this fine morning. It was leaving the inside world that scared her.

The dusty yellow male virtually fell out of his sleeping position as he heard Nyunyas voice, he was awake and at least, partially alert, wwhen he stumbled to the entrance grinning like an idiot and blinking blindly in the bright morning sun. Deep auburn eyes fell slowly on his mistress. It hadn't escaped him that she had grown, it just surprised him slightly. He truethfully couldn't remember being a cub or any younger than he was now with his dark silver flecked mane and sleek mucles. Still the big lugs brain didn't go any further in it's questioning about growth spurts he simply sat, lowering his head in a gentle bow, his dark eyed gaze turned ground wards as always when he was being obedient.
"Yess maa'am" he stated quite simply though his tail wafted back and forth behind him making a quiet swooshing sound as it moved. Pondering for a long, silent moment the dark maned mistweaver awaited his orders. What would the day bring for him today? hunting? wandering the trees? grooming? things were easier these days, he still feared his slight mistres, but he knew only too well that things could and truthfully should be worse, maybe things would change if nyunya got bigger, after all, his mother was always big and she treated him the way he was supposed to be treated. Maybe it just took time for little mistresses, to become big mistresses?
A dazed look flowed over Liza's face as he let his mind wander on these things.

Nyunya's face did a serious of small convulsions as she watched him grow more dazed by the second, she trying to keep her face straight and not laugh at him, and her amusement wanting to blossom on her expression. She really had to wonder, sometimes, if there was anything at all between his ears. But it was a sort of affectionate thought. She really wouldn't want him to change. He was wonderful as he was, and a bit of brains might change that. She loved him just like this; he didn't need no smarts.
She sat herself down in front of him, hardly even noticing she was so much smaller than he. His size never bothered her. She knew that, sooner or later, he would be bowing and scraping to her, lowering himself below her height. "Liza, today is the day I want to leave this place to travel. Are you rested enough for it?"

Her voice broke his thoughts rather easily, he knew to listen to the mistress, lowering himself to his stomach he looked up at her with adoreing eyes. she was the mistress after all. His tail wagged some more as he took inher words. They were leaving? For where? he didn't think for too long. "I'll go where ever you like mistress" did it matetr if he was rested? Clearly this was one of those big 'mistress type decisions' still perhaps he needed to reply in some way so as not to incur her wrath. "I sleep like a log" Not exactly the reply he had meant to give but still, maybe it was a suitable one. Who knew, the females reaction would gauge whether he had answered correctly or not.
Grinning in a sobre manner he tenced his shoulders always ready for the punishment. Not that Nyunya had ever punished him, but he should still expect it. or one dayhe'd let his guard down and bam, he would be getting punished without expecting it he had to always expect it, it was the way things worked after all. The way of the world.

So, she had Liza with her now. As she had expected she would. Now came the harder part: saying goodbye to her family. They would be leaving, of course, but Nyunya would not be among them when they did. She would already be gone. Nyekundu wanted her, not her family, and she would not be with them when he found her... if he did. She would take no chances and would not risk any of them.
"Come, then, Liza. I need to tell my family I'm leaving..."
It was already starting to upset her, the idea that she was leaving them, that she may not see them for a long time... if at all. They'd always... been there. It'd be hard for her, not waking up in the morning to see them all sprawled comfortably in their familiar den. The thought saddened her immensely. She headed to the slope and started her descent that led to the level of said den.
It was more of a controlled slide down the slope than a climb, but it got her down to the bottom fairly quickly. She padded to the mouth of the cave, and called out one single word: "Mother?" By this word, though, she could mean either Ithibati or Denge. Since she was a cub, and Ithi and Denge had finally gotten together, she'd never made a distinction between the two. They were both her mothers, in her eyes, as Ithi's cubs were her siblings. They were no less family, and never would be. But hopefully one or both were here, so she did not have to crawl around the lands looking for them. She wouldn't go without saying goodbye to both of them.
