Having read somewhere in a cooking book that Takai had bought for her, Mitagna learned that cooking is both good for the soul, and the way to the heart was through the stomach. So, she did the first thing that anyone new to this world would do, and that was to go out to the nearby grocery store to pick up the ingredients for various different things. From a rich cherry pie, to dinner entre stuff like pork chops, and various breakfast things and fruit, too.
Admittedly, Mitagna was starting to think that all these bags were getting a bit too much for someone like her to carry, but she didn't mind it too much. She'd also heard on an infomercial that Takai had been watching late at night that if there was no pain, there was no gain. And Mita was all set to gain, whatever it was she'd be gaining.
And, for the moment, she was glad that she had grown, as clumsy as it felt to walk everywhere instead of flying. There was no way she'd ever be able to get all this home if she was still a tiny little bird. Xaxis had been right, being bigger was practical, and it wasn't so bad having legs that bent the way they did at the knee, allowing her to take faster, longer strides.

"No wanting of the food."
The boys voice was short and rather pissed off as they rounded the corner towards the store. Kian was the one who spoke, in his sandles that didn't cut through his webbing, loose jeans and a t-shirt. The boys skin was pitch black with matching hair - beads decorating a few strands, and there was a third, yellow eye in the center of his forehead.
Iamel was with him, striding next to his brother with meaningful steps. He laughed carelessly, hand moving to rest on Kians shoulder. "You might not want food, but the rest of the house does. So we have to go shopping."
"No wanting of shop." The smaller one snarled again, thick, muscular tail behind him whipping almost dangerously. "What use is of the shop? Forage food. Hunt."
"Whatever, Simba. We go shopping. AHOY!"
That's when Mitagna caught his attention, blinking a little and twisting, moving to grab some of the bags. "Hey there, kiddlet. Would you like some help getting this somewhere? Or a cart? Carts help."

Being so focused on weaving in and out of the crowds walking the opposite way Mitagna was (naturally), she didn't even notice that all new, yet somehow familiar feeling of Kin nearby. And when Iamel went to grab some of her bags, she very nearly squealed with surprise and tripped herself. Luckily, she somehow managed to twist in a very odd way that left her balancing precariously on one foot behind her, her body twisted about as far as it could go.
"Whew, that was close." She carefully straightened herself again, moving to take a proper look at the man, which he very much seemed to be to her, that had offered a hand. Her look of surprise and suspicion quickly turned to glee as a bright, radiant smile crossed her face, noting Iamel's wings and finally taking notice of the feel in the air around her.
"Oh! Hi! Carts? What's a cart?" She frowned a bit, shaking her head a little as she finally allowed Iamel to take some of the bags away from her. "Oh, you mean those weird things on wheels? They were kind of scary. Like it was suddenly going to run away from me. You're allowed to take those?"
Finally she paused for breath, her emerald eyes picking out the shorter... boy? she assumed, next to Iamel. Well, he was certainly interesting looking. She flashed him just as brilliant a smile as she did to Iamel, after all, anyone who was hanging out with Kin had to be cool, right?

"Yes it was, little robin." His voice was teasing, keeping the bags afloat with little effort. The woodpeckers head canted to the side, lips pulling into a wider grin then before, glancing at those 'weird things on wheels'.
Iamel strode over to the carts, pulling a smaller one free. It was almost just right for the little girl. Large enough to put things in, small enough for her to push. He leaned down, putting the groceries into the major part of the cart before wheeling it back to the girl.
"You're allowed to take them as long as you bring them back once you get your groceries where you need to." He nodded, glancing over to his grumpy sibling. Kian was still standing there, eyes narrowed and his tail lashing back and forth.
"That's Kian, my brother. He's a silly one."

Another grin crossed her face, though it was sheepish this time as she shrugged her shoulders and deposited the rest of her bags into the cart. "They really should put signs on them, then." Tightly she wrapped her arms around the handle, careful not to let it run off on her, as she still suspected it would do.
Then, peering at Kian as he was introduced to her, she released the handle with one hand and held it out to the small boy, as she'd often seen others do before. "Hi Kian, I'm Mitagna." She nodded her head, then smiled again. "He doesn't look very happy, though. And your brother? Wow, that's so cool!" All she had at home was Takai, but then again that was certainly handful enough.
"So, are there lots of larger Kin running around? You're the second one I've met since I found my companion." Briefly she wondered what Xaxis would think now that she was bigger, but it was only a quick flit of a thought before her focus was once more on Kian and Iamel.

"It's something little mortals learn throughout their lives," He explains, "I take my siblings shopping with me and they understand it because they've done it since they were babies, so they learn. People like us... well, we hang on by the seat of our pants." He smiled, a hand moving to rest on the girls pretty hair briefly.
Inwardly, though, he was so amazingly confused still. He was treating her nicely because she was an ADORABLE little girl. She was Kin. Female Kin. It was.... oh, it was puzzling. Still, she was asking questions. They needed to be answered.
Kian was still glaring at her curiously, hand moving out to give her hand a light little 'patpat' as opposed to shaking it. "Are one of Shanuh birds." He noted, eyebrows narrowing critically. "Smell like HIM." The aliens head jerked in the direction of Iamel and he moved towards his brother quickly. Webbed fingers buried themselves in Iamels jeans, pulling out some cash, and shoved it into his pocket.
"I shop. You.. help the.. her." Another twitch of his head and a flick of his musclar tail before Kian grabed a cart of his own, attempting to break free of them.
The Bird laughed lightly at his brother, moving over to Mitanga, leading her out quietly. "There are Savius, Xaxis, Diacyn and myself. The Raptor Squad," He snickered quickly, head shaking with a grin, "We're the only ones we know of who are big, other then the people at the Birdcage. There are lots of little ones running around, though. Like you."

"Oh, I understand. When I told Takai was going shopping she made me write down a list to give to a store clerk so they could help me, having never done it before and all. The lady was very nice, she started telling me what each thing does that I was planning on using, and what it would taste good with and what it wouldn't and all." She smiled happily, not at all bothered by the friendly touch on her hair.
Of course, a look of confusion crossed her face when Kian patted her hand, and she suddenly felt, not as she was a small-person talking to another, but as though she was talking to a big-one who had no time or interest in kids. She watched him dig into Iamel's pocket, producing what Mitagna had come to learn was the currency of this world, and then wandered off with a cart. "I don't think he likes me very much." She shrugged her shoulders, allowing Iamel to lead her out and she started to turn towards the new home that Takai had bought for them.
"Savius, Xaxis, Diacyn and yourself. Got it. I've met Xaxis already, but that was while I was still tiny and could fly. Hopefully I didn't annoy him with all of my questions." She giggled a little, apparently in a good mood. And why shouldn't she be? She'd just met another Kin, it was a beautiful day out, and she was going home to cook. Speaking of cooking.
"Hey, would you and your brother like to come over for dinner? Takai probably won't be home until late, so she won't be there to roll her eyes at you. And the house she just got is certainly big enough. I'm going to try my hand at making.. uh.. what was it called," She frowned for a moment, before pulling a list out of her pocket. "Oh, Chicken fried steak. Though it doesn't use real chickens or anything." She giggled again, then shrugged her shoulders. "That's mostly for Takai though, I managed to get ahold of a bunch of crickets and frozen worms from the pet store, and a bunch of different berries and stuff from here." She gestured back at the grocery store. "Though, to be honest I'm not entirely sure what Woodpeckers and.. uh.. Woodpeckers' brothers eat." She finally stopped babbling and simply grinned up at Iamel.
