What the ******** is going on? Am I the only one who remembers when there were actually battles going on, and not this hyped up "anything you can do I can do better" s**t? People are coming out with these over-the-top and completely out of hand challenges(CT). As far as I can see this whole problem started with the establishment of the "official" top ten list. Before, everyone respected the people who spitted well without having an official list. But now eveyone's getting all twisted up over technicalities.
The current Top 10 system is terminally flawed. It just doesn't work this way. Everyonme knows true seeds are made by alot more than who can beat who once. Doing it this way just cheapens the whole thing. So the point is I say the new system needs to be imroved, overhauled, or disbanded. And maybe then we can actually get to some rapping.
Also, it saddens me to notice the calibre of the rappers seems to be droppong drastically. Mak and Fujin and Reign and Spyder all leave, to be replaced by Hiphopkid and Supersoldier. While we are also getting people with immeasurable potential (zone2), we aren't having as many heavyweights as we did before. So the point is this can not go on. It just can't. At this rate it will be no time before the Haven is a deserted subforum with a total of 1 good rapper.
I have named names, and pointed fingers, but it's nothing personal. I am just sorely distressed with the way things are going around here.

I'm not one to talk, but I can't help but see it in how the forum is so slow.
I came here looking forward to dukin' it out with the likes of the greats listed above, but where the ******** have they gone now? Not into Hershey's cookies and cream ;/
But yeah, it's sad when you can enlist in two battles and not see any new challenges pop up for days. sad

If you had a problem with it you should have told me a soon as you seen it... anyways.. before the rankings system battles... stopped... and most of the good ones just plain did not battle... at all... And... it's like... I don't know.. the reason that I said that it should be a retirement match was because I though Ceaz would beat me and I would be able to bow out gracefully... HOWEVER, in light of his... NOT BATTLING ME! (I KNOOOOOOOOOOW YOU SEE IT) it's like I still have a stake in this place.. nonetheless... I'm never battling in here ever again...

Whats wrong with the system, if a cat was so good, it is as simple as this...
Beat the ranked 10 kat, then work down till you get the title you deserve.
As far as the issue, with these noweight kats, let them get better. Freestyling takes practice, only a few of us are born good. (me lol) And also noweight kats serve an important role, sort of. In this food chain of rappers haven, these niggas is fresh meat, the people who can't rap and wan't to have to start somewhere.

Well, maybe the old heavyweights are simply being replaced by new ones.
Jceaz was never heavyweight until about 2 weeks ago when he suddenly beat just about everyone.
For me to get any respect around here, I had to beat Fujin, CT and Mak.
And I don't think CT was a big gun up until the last few months.
And you SJC, I didn't even know you existed until July/August time.
With the likes of Vedic and zone2, maybe we're just the next generation of Keystylers, brought in to replace old models.
