Storyline
The Kingdom of Maisone is a fairly large one. Surrounding quite a few acres of land, the castle gates are large and made of expensive marble. Outside the castle gates reside the lower-class peasants who are considered almost wealthy by peasants in any other kingdom. The castle itself houses the royal family, one hundred servants, and an army of 3,000.
The Kingdom of Jahrr stands as the second wealthiest kingdom of the era. It has about five acres less of land than Maisone and a significantly smaller army. However, their defense systems are the best in Europe and the army, albeit small, is more loyal and better trained.
Despite the mighty defense system of Jahrr, Maisone has set its sights on the lesser kingdom and wants to extend its rule. War has recently been declared, and the fighting is soon to begin.

Rules
1. What one character says to another character is not how the poster really feels about the other poster. Remember, this is a roleplay. If a character's personality is cold and unfeeling, he's going to act that way. Please no whining about characters acting rudely.
2. No swearing. At all. This is a guild rule as well. If you have a foul-mouthed character, you don't have to repeat exactly what he said. "He cursed out loud." is a good sentence for those cases. (In medieval times, you weren't supposed to curse when ladies were present anyway. 3nodding )
3. No god-modding. People bleed. You can't avoid every blow. That makes things unrealistic.
4. No killing other characters without permission.
5. This is a literate RP. Usually there is a one-paragraph rule, but don't get crazy with that. If there's not much to say at the moment, don't make up a whole bunch of stupid stuff just so that you have a paragraph. But please do write at least three sentences per post. When PMing me your profile, title it "War, huh, what is it good for?!" Excuse the hanging preposition.
6. Romance is fine, just keep it clean. No kissing or anything beyond that. Yeah, I'm a prude. Deal with it.
7. Have fun! Put your own style into your writing and make things interesting. The storyline is simple to allow for plot twists and creativity. Just don't do anything like, "Suddenly an angel came down from heaven and told everybody to stop fighting and we all held hands and sang 'Kumbayah', or however you spell that."

Character Profiles
Please PM me your profiles. You may begin posting when I return your PM. The title of the PM needs to be a certain phrase which I've hidden throughout the introductory posts, just to make sure you've been paying attention.
Categories in italics are optional. If you don't put them here, however, please incorporate them into your first few posts. (i.e., "Her blue eyes flashed dangerously" if you choose to omit the "appearance" portion.)

Existing Characters: JahrrGaian Name: JesusFreak60148
Name: Sir Laurence of Jahrr
Age: 27
Position: Knight
Personality: Boisterous, though very much a gentleman. He delights in humor and loves to laugh. Some think him odd because of what they call his "fascination with religion," but he knows it's more than that. His loyalty to his king is second only to his loyalty to the King of kings.
Appearance: Laurence stands about 6'2". He was a squire since a young boy and began knighthood at fifteen. His vigorous training since then has given him a muscular appearance and many scars. He wears his dark, wavy hair shoulder-length and tries to keep a clean shave but often forgets. His eyes are a brown that matches his hair and his skin is pale since most of his time spent outdoors is training in heavy armor.Gaian Name: [.Mikomi.]
Name: Ame(pronounced Ah-may) Cooper
Age: 16
Position: Lady Knight (aka Dame)
Bio: Ame's dream had always been to become a knight. She knew what consequences there would be if she did become one. She went through with it anyway, and is now in her first year of knighthood. She's a fairly good hand with a sword and bow.
Personality: Ame is strong-hearted, and intelligent. She's quiet, a lady of few words, but isn't afraid to stand up for herself, the result of being a female knight. Although she acts like she doesn't care, she does get depressed on occasion from everyone looking down upon her. She won't run away from a fight, and will protect those she cares about. She is also extremely loyal to her kingdom and her God.
Appearance: Short, black hair that is level with her chin and a pair of blue-gray eyes that always have a fire of determination in them, with an overshadow of sadness. Ame wears a set of blue armor(breastplate, shoulder guards, armor skirt, leg guards, elbow and wristguards) over a simple white shirt and skirt. She wears calf-high boots. When not in armor, she wears a shortsleeved shirt under a light blue tunic, with black breeches and her same boots. Gaian Name: wildcrazyness
Name: Janiet de Cambrai of Jahrr (pronounced Shjah-Nay)
Age: 18
Position (king, knight, servant, etc.): Niece to the King of Jahrr
Bio: Janiet's parents were killed when a poorly executed robbery went awry. With no other family on her father's side, she was sent to live with her (distant) uncle the King of Jahrr. Having little use of a female relative in the house (but much use for the lands that came with her) Janiet was given free reign to do as she pleased so long as she caused no trouble. She knew the king only kept her around just in case he needed her for an alliance. Personality: She's realitively good natured, but hates when people treat her like a simpering fool of a woman. She's strong and smart, having been taught to fight and read by her father (he favored her and treated her as he would have a son) while her mother taught her how to be a proper lady.

Here are some good reference websites so we're all on the same page as to how life was in the medieval ages. You don't have to read everything, but it's a good reference point if you're writing something and begin to wonder if it would make sense in that time period. There are tons of other sources; feel free to research on your own if that's what makes you happy. Let me know if you find something good and I'll post it in here!Life in a Medieval CastleAttacking and Defending a CastleLife in a Castle

((It wasn't a very common practice then. I suppose I can allow one, but keep in mind that in those times you would not be treated like a lady. Men would not want to woo you and women would frown upon you. Or you could do what I did and play a male character as a knight and a female character as something else. ^.^))

Ismeine de Maisone strode through the forest, expertly dodging tree roots, thorn bushes, and the like. She laughed quietly to herself as she tried to picture the two armies manuevering through the woods. She alone knew the forest like the back of her hand; tales of werewolves and goblins in both kingdoms stopped anyone else from wanting anything to do with it. As for her, she had never heeded the silly tales and had been navigating the forest since she was a child. Did the God of the Bible protect His children, or did He not? She believed He did. Even from werewolves.
"Ismeine?!" she heard the faint sound of someone calling her name outside the forest. When the voice sounded again, she recognized it to be that of her sister. Silently, she crept to the edge of the forest.
"Ismeine, this is not funny," Merewyn said nervously as she approached the forest. She desperately wished she could put those servants' tales out of her mind -- although she could have sworn she just heard something howl. Her sister needed to get out of the trees and back to the castle. Merewyn began crashing through the forest, which grabbed at her skirts with its trees and thorn bushes. Something howled again.
"Ismeine?" she said again, almost at a whisper.
"RAWR!!" something growled from behind her. Merewyn flung herself around to face whatever it was but tripped on a tree root and landed in a heap on the dirt.
"Ismeine!" she scolded angrily as she saw her sister, still posed with her fingers curled up near her face and her teeth bared. Her face and hands relaxed as she began to laugh heartily.
"Ismeine!" she said sharply. "Help me stand and let us away from this dreadful forest. You know we are forbidden to be here; the fighting will start any day now."
Ismeine knew she was right. War had been declared only a few days ago, but things were still quiet in her forest. It was only a matter of time before someone made the first move. Even still, as daughters of the king they were forbidden to leave the castle. But Merewyn, the social butterfly of the pair, flitted around the castle enough for the both of them. Ismeine was never missed.
"Alright, my sister," Ismeine said, still smiling as she lifted her up. "We shall leave now."

In the middle of the night, Sir Laurence of Jahrr awoke as the maiden in his dream hit the dirty ground. Something had been attacking her. Did she need help?
Come now, Laurence, it was a dream, he told himself with a small laugh. Of course there was no maiden, however real the dream had seemed to him. It was curious, though. He had never so much as thought of a woman, let alone dreamed of one. Lord, what must this mean? he prayed in bewilderment. The image of her vivid red curls and bright green eyes burned itself into his mind. Lost in thought, he ran a hand over his chin, barely realizing he had forgotten to shave the past couple of days.
After a few moments of not being able to fall back asleep, the knight reached for the Bible he always kept next to him. All candles were snuffed; he would not be able to read. But he held onto the holy book as he prayed, the sounds of other knights and servants snoring in the background.

(((I already sent my profile yesterday so, if you don't mind, I'm just going to jump in somewhere....)))
Jason gidied his white horse along the worn and rough path. He was in a light wood, the sun shining down through the branches every so often. IT was a peaceful place, but, as he knew, would eventually be turned chaotic. It was a strategic location, a major source of travel and trade. Many a battle would be fought here, he thought. He sent a guick prayer for safety to God and continued on his way, his shield glistening in the sun from teh side of his horse. His armor and gear clinking in a random cadence and the trotting of the horse where the only noises aside from nature that were audible....
