Okay, so I finally ordered Incubus and should be getting it in a few days. I have a quick question for all you who have read it.....is it another book like Cerulean where there is little plot and more sex? Or is it back to actually have a nice plot?
I'm just worried because I really love the mystery and horror part of Anita's world and it's been going downhill since Narcissus. It's become like a romance novel at times and I've been rather disappointed.

I'm only on page 200 something (being sick is hard. Trying to read while you're coughing up your lungs is even harder sweatdrop ), and it's not...alot of plot......and it's driving me up the wall. It's look liked it'd pick up, but then, chapters later, it hasn't. And it's annoying me.
I for one miss the older days, where Anita was actually a vampire hunter and what not. Not a supernatural shagger.

Grrrr.....now I'm annoyed. LKH really needs to get back to the basics of Anita and crew. Save the sex for Merry Gentry. I guess I'll see when I get the book in a few days. At least it was free (Amazon Gift Ceritficate.)

There is a really good mystery and some good action, but you really have to wade through pages upon pages of sex. Now there is some major character development among all the sex too. The sex is really good sex, but each episode lasts so long. I loved the story & the action & the character development, and even the sex, I just thought each sex scene should have been a little less detailed.

The book is mostly sex, in my opinion. By the end of the book it just felt kinda like Hamilton thought, "Oh gee, I still have this crime to solve and 5 chapters to do it in." Granted there's a lot more character development, but it could've been much better.

Yes. She has various plans for the next few books, but she doesn't really know when it will end, last I heard.
Apparently, the next book will have more vampire politics in it, and Jason might get a girlfriend! whee

Supposedly, Anita and crew are going home to Anita's dad's place for Thanksgiving or some such holiday in the next book. Won't that be interesting?
I, for one, really liked Incubus Dreams, and thought the character development added so much more to the story. There was a lot of sex, but at least it was well written, eh? Nothing stupid or cheesy like those romances we all hate to love. Or is it love to hate?
Anyways, there is more sex than plot in ID, but there is definitely a plot. JMHO, however.

I do agree that there is a good plot. I also actually like some of the sex developments. Don't want to give anything away, but I really did enjoy some of the sex. I really like the character developments and changes too. On a whole, I liked ID. I just think the sex has a tendency to slow the plot, unlike the action after action that drove the first 8 books.

I really like the character developments and changes too. On a whole, I liked ID. I just think the sex has a tendency to slow the plot, unlike the action after action that drove the first 8 books. I really enjoyed the sex in this book, mostly because it was different. There are other reasons, but for the sake of those who haven't read the book yet, I won't say. As for the sex slowing the plot, I find that what most people don't realize and what is beginning to become true, is that sex is a lot of the plot, now. It is not a distraction from the plot, but rather the plot itself. That is just how I see things, though; many people disagree and do think that the sex takes up a lot of space where there could be more to the plot. I do agree that the books could be improved if there was an equal ratio of sex to action, however. Maybe it'll happen in the next book? Maybe once Anita has better control over the ardeur, there will be less sex? Guess we'll see. Can't wait for the next book xd
