Personal opinion? Forget the prom. Pfft, I didn't even go to mine and there wasn't anything else going on that night. Prom is basically a big party, and Fanime is basically a better big party. With awesome costumes and people that are all interested in the same thing.

Wow, ok so I haven't been in this guild for a while, so yeah...
I would try to at least do both, I mean you can only do your prom once while Fanime is every year. But then again, it depends if you have a date, a bunch of your friends are going down there, etc. To bad you just couldn't go with someone who liked fanime and just go their after prom, hey maybe even do your cosplay outfit to go with your prom outfit, then at least you wouldn't have to worry about doing your hair and makeup again. And I actually went to mine and had a blast, good friends, good stories, good times...

I really want to go senior year but I am so torn... I am plaing around Gaia panel time... if the Gaia panel is when prom is I am not goign to prom...

This happened to me last year!! except it was my junior year. I was really mad, but i decided fanime was a much better way to spend my time and money! ^_^ but then again, i'm not to much of a dance person. it's up to you what you want to do.

Prom is where people go to try to get laid in high school one last time and a huge waste of cash. Chances are, it's gonna be a big boring party unless someone spikes the punch, and then there's all the people you don't want to be around. On the other hand, it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and Fanime does come around every year, and you'd only be missing one day. Think it over hard before you finalize your decision.

Main points:
1. If you have a date, that's a good reason to go
2. If your friends are going, then that's another good reason
3. If you have a date AND friends...then you should probably go. You don't want to regret it later, because you went to some panel that goes around every year.

My graduation is on the same night as fanime. My friends and I are going to go to our graduation them right after leave for Fanime. We say screw grad night, fanime is much better. If I were you I would go to Prom, especially if you get asked to prom by someone, then go leave for Fanime right after. Thats what I am doing for graduation 3nodding

Our Senior Ball is the same night as fanime too. But luckly I'm a junior smile so I dint hafta miss prom. I liked the earlier idea about going withsomeone who likes fanime, and going directly to fanime after prom.
infact...I think I'll do that next year xd

It's one day that you can NEVER take back, that's the thing with Prom. Fanime comes EVERY YEAR! It also lasts for OVER TWO DAYS!! I mean Fanime is great now, but who wants to live with regret over not having a blast at Prom when you're like 35?

Me and my Anime club forgot our jr. ball cause it was on saturday and when Fanime was at Santa Clara during my Jr year, it was only three days and Saturday was the biggest day. So I didn't go and my friends didn't go either.
