I had to do something similar for a class last year. Not that in-depth, but close.
Try going to site for companies that license shows. You can find things like that in google. Many sites have little descriptions of the shows they offer as well as character lists, etc.
It really just requires a lot of digging through search engines looking for just the right sites.
