This has been used time and time again throughout endless KH theories - relating to the Keyblades, Sora and Riku's relationship, and so on. HOWEVER- there is one detail that is very, VERY comonly overlooked.
It. Is not. A. "Real". KEYBLADE!!!!!!!!
It was created artificially with the hearts of the six Princesses. It has no real bearing on ANYTHING... involving... keyblades...
Please - feel free to tell me why I may be wrong... This may seem a bit rantish, but I as people come up with reasons that I'm wrong, I'll present reason's why I'm right.
Again, I appologise if this is coming off a bit standoffish... But I am just so TIRED of this CONSTANTLY coming up... sweatdrop

Yes, however, the Dark Keyblade is a "real" Keyblade. It was created from the six Princess' hearts to "unlock" other's hearts.

As far as the knowledge presented in Kingdom Hearts goes, it seems to indicate that the Keyblade is out of human control-- a sort of... force, in the worlds, that is one of those... always has been, always will be sort of things. I could be wrong on that, however, if the secret ending of KH2 is enterperated in some ways...
Regardless, it is not that it was created artificially that in particular makes me say that it isn't real-- a Keyblade, as far as I can tell, is indestructable. However, this one was... dismantled, and is no longer even in existance.
I have to admit, however, that I am not quite sure why it ceased to exist when Sora used it on himself.
Again, there is a fair amount of speculation... But juging on what I've seen and read, and, juging on the style used in past Square games (particurally the Final Fantasy series), I think that it's a relativly safe bet.

It's more artificial than the Heartless created by that machine are. It probably can't even do most of the functions of a normal Keyblade... Assuming that Mickey's, Sora's, and Riku's set the standards. It didn't have a keychain, did it? And it probably couldn't do much with worlds... Or un/lock normal locks.

Well, I can see where you have your points on how it isn't real, but I still sort of think it is. ^^' After all, it was able to help Sora and Mickey's keyblades open a door in the second game, and it seemed to have their exact power, right? Plus it did have other powers. Even if it's an artificial one, wouldn't that still classify it as a Keyblade? I don't know what else you could call it, it sort of only falls under that catagorey.

   well this is an interesting issue...
one of my friends was at the comicon in san francisco where Tetsuya Nomura gave a little speech about his games and a little teaser for KH3 whee
From what my friend told me he said something along the lines of "you may notice that some of the keyblades do not have key chains on the end… when the welder of a keyblade with no key chain is defeated in battle, the keyblade is lost to the darkness and will be gone forever” and then he went on to talk about the keyblade war… sorry if it’s a little spoilerish but since it was announced to a public audience I assumed it was ok to say it here 3nodding
