yay, euclid art!
i'm pretty much all about that gecko; it looks almost watercolor/gouche-esque. very nice job on the colors.
your ocgal...i like this kind of anime. anime with some substance. i'm very fond of the roughness; there is just enough. you've done a wonderful job on the hair; i always have trouble with that. the only thing i dont like is the skin: in places it looks like she's wearing lots of makeup, killing the dimension and depth to her face. the shadows are phenomenal, but it looks almost oil pastel-ish in other places. i think it's places were you've overworked the colors, putting too many layers on; i do this kind of thing all the time.

biggrin I love the gecko, so that makes me happy. lol.
I think I see where you're talking about. Yeah, I really needed to have lightened it up in some places. Especially her right (our left) side and near her mouth... *sigh* Ah, well. I guess that means more drawing and experimentation. ((Oooh, ouch, stop twisting my arm, ooh, ouch.)) lol. Thanks, Kirio!! biggrin

I love the gecko. It's amazing 3nodding what did you use to colour it?
and I love that first one too..did you use pastels or oil pastels to shade it? and what paper did you use?
also, for drawing the first one..did you draw that from imagination or did you have anything to work from?

For the gecko, I used my Prismacolor markers.
On Karina (the OC), she was done with Prismacolor pencils on 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. I think it's 140.... Not sure of the exact weight.
And the last question: almost all of my characters are done straight out of my head. I might use a family member to help me for a bit of pose referencing (especially with hands), but other than that...

then that is amazing 3nodding I asked about the paper because of the rough look on that picture..it was either chalks or the paper that made it like that. I really like that effect 3nodding and I can never draw from my imagination, and I think anyone who can do that well is very talented 3nodding

mrgreen
Sadly, drawing from my imagination is just about the only way I've ever made a picture that I was satisfied with. Whenever people see me drawing, they'll sometimes ask, "Ooooh! Can you draw me?" I usually have a slight panic attack on the inside before calmly and politely telling them, "Sorry, I'm not good at portraits." *sigh* Obviously I need to practice more, no?

maybe..but I think some people have a talent at drawing what they see...and others have a talent for what they can't see. I gues that's why some people go into design and others don't. Me, for instance..I can't draw from my imagination to save my life..I have to draw something I can see sweatdrop

Ok, full version now up. I've shaded the pendant. It might be too much red.... confused Ok, Cap'n's mentioned his arm, and I'm well aware that his thigh is waaay too short, but is there anything else???

you know, i really did look for some criticism, and i couldnt really come up with anything (other than what's been mentioned). because it's a WIP i can't be like "oh it needs more definition, maybe more texture here and here" because i'm sure you'll get to it.
it's really well done. markers kick my a**. perhaps, for the problem of his arm, try some different shading to make it look longer. i dont know if it'll work, though. i really like the shading you've got on the wings, with the blue sort of dripping down. it looks really cool.
and now i'm going to stop before i ramble on more smile
