He had made the mistake of falling asleep near the lakeside again after spending a better part of the night wandering the plains. He'd raced the oncoming sun, wanting the night to linger as long as he could make it... But his late-night habits had left him open to assault as he slept.
Now, hours later, he stood on a hillside overlooking the valley, a soft wind rustling the feathers that had been woven through his hair once more. The vibrant colors of sunset brought fire to the air around him, giving his natural colors an even brighter glow. He could very well be the pony-god of fire if he so chose to be so...
It was a good thing for the true pony-god that he had decided against it. He would much rather be a studly stallion who was a god amongst the ladies...
Ladies. That made his mind wander as he stared off towards the sunset. Kitara. Something had happened when they'd last been together; somethign that had left her image imprinted upon his mind so strongly that he hadn't been able to make it go away no matter what he tried. There was something about her... Something.

She'd met a winged green thing that she hoped she'd never have to meet again. Being that friendly had started to make her teeth ache after a while. She never wanted to smile again now, now with how her jaw ached.
"God .... featherbrained thing." She shook her head as she walked though the grass. Since staying by the lake had become nothing but a nusance she'd taken a walk off toward the greener bits near the hills.
The bright fire of the setting sun just ment that she kept her head down to shield her eyes from the heat of the fire. It wouldnt be long before she could look up again. The sun ran faster than any horse at this time of night

As the sun dipped down below the horizon he stirred from his thoughts, rearing up onto hind legs to battle the darkness for one more moment of light. It was always a battle... Always something... Never a moment's rest.
The feathers around his foreleg batted against his flesh, falling still only after his hooves touched the ground. He tossed his head back, nickering a soft welcome to the night as the blue blanket enveloped the once fiery sky.

As the sun disappeared she looked up and streched. The night would be cooler and happier at this rate. Just her and the grass and the sky and ...
Her thoughts were intrupted as a soft nicker was carried on the wind. Looking around she caught sight of a familier dark body and stock of flame colord hair.
"Oh for ....."

His head turned and fiery eyes narrowed in, locking on the greens and golds of a coat he'd seen only once before... A coat he'd looked upon and never forgotten. No, she hadn't been the first mare to pop into his mind when he let his mind wander... But she had been there just the same and now that she was within his sight he couldn't help but let a smile touch his lips. "Evenin', chere."

She tried to smile but it didnt quite work. She'd had enough of it and had hoped to not run into the stalion again. Espically not this soon and not when she'd been trying to have a nice night.
"Evening." Did he have to call her that? Couldnt he think of something that didnt sound so much like he was trying to pick her up?

He ventured a step forward... And then another, moving slowly towards her. "What brings you out an' about tonight? Jus' gettin' a bit o' air? Or somethin' more?" He stopped a few feet away from the green mare, giving her a bit of space even if he was now closer.

"Am i not allowd to go wandering around wheni want?" She huffed slightly. It was free land so she could wander wherever she wanted without being questioned.
Unless she ran into red haired stalions.

"Non, chere. You 'llowed to go wherever you want whenever you want. Remy jus' askin'." His tail swished behind him, the tip brushing against the backs of his legs as his eyes remained upon her. She was a welcome difference in appearance to the strange mare he'd just met the night before... Beautiful with all of that fire she kept bundled deep inside. "You touchy tonight, chere."

"I better be allowd to go where i want." She snorted as she flicked her mane over her shoulder.
She wasnt really touchy she was just not all that happy. "Feather brains will do that to someone." She tried to keep any bite out of her voice but some of it would probably not work.

"No one's tryin' to stop you, chere." A soft huff of warm air flared his nostrils as he tossed his head, mane fluttering against his muscular neck. "Maybe you need somethin' to take your mind of things, whatever those things may be." She was so different than Kitara... So tempermental... So spirited. Granted, his petite chere had a spirit of her own... But it was a wild one. Not an angry one.

What she needed was a nice walk around without anyone to bother her but that seemed to be something she wasnt allowd to do. Everywhere she went to get away from others she ran into someone.
"Dont you have some other girl to be bothering? I'm sure you've got one somewhere." Infact with the way he talked to her she was pretty sure he had more than one.

She laughed slightly. "Yea, cause i can put a dent in that ego of yours." She looked at him as she spoke and took a step closer to him.
"It'd take more than just a few words to make you give up." She grinned slightly, almost like it was a challenge as she spoke

"Ah don't think you want me to give up, chere. Ah think, deep down, you like da attention." He nodded slowly as he stretched out his neck, aiming to touch the tip of his muzzle to her slender shoulder. "There somethin' 'bout me you jus' can't resist... Natural charm."
