I just started a pot of Chai tea, and I started drinking it with just sugar, but remembered reading on here that Chai is supposed to be drunk with lots of milk. So I looked through my pathetic excuse for a fridge for milk but the little carton I have is already bad. I almost gave up but then I noticed a single serving carton of CalSoy that I bought out of curiousity at an Asian market a few weeks ago and, being desperate, I decided to try it out. At first I drank it all by itself, before putting any in the tea. And i have to say...
ITS YUMMY!
Its sort of...vanilla-y and nutty at the same time, and it has a really deep, yummy flavor that actually went really well with my tea; gave it an earthier, creamier, richer taste. And it was reallly good w/o the tea too!
I dont usually like soy milk unless its actually flavored, but this is really nummy.
If you want to know, the drink is called CalSoy and its made by...i think...Sahm Yook...from Korea.

But anyways, what do you think about putting soy milk in tea? Do you have a favorite kind?

ohh, I never thought of putting soy milk in tea. I wonder what other teas would taste good with it? I know that chai is often made with milk...

anyway, I can't even have normal milk, so all I really drink is soy milk. I love it. ^^

it's best to buy them from Asian markets, so when I read when you mentioned it, I exclaimed "good!!" haha.

I've been talking with one of my doctors about soy milk, and how it's not good to trust american brands, since... uh... how soy milk had come about in our country was not intentionally for "food", and so it's not really as healthy for you here. or something like that...

but I'll definitely keep that in mind, it's just that I don't normally put milk in tea, since I always fear it will come out tasting horrible. ^^;

I thought that too! And I still dont put milk in all my teas because im afraid it'll come out bad.
But i really think that soy milk went great with it because it had a rich, earthy flavor like the tea, not like regular milk.

That was a wonderful idea! I drink alot of milk tea, but I've never thought about putting soy milk in it. It's mainly because the word "soy" is weird to me.

I just have to add that this one is not able to digest milk products, so I'm rather familiar with soymilk. Silk Soymilk makes a french vanilla creamer that is just too perfect for tea!
I prefer the plain flavor rather than the other flavored soymilks but the french vanilla creamer is very good.

I'm lactose intolerant, so I sorta have to drink soy milk.
-I also dislike the taste of regular milk, although that's unimportant.

I personally drink fat-free original [not vanilla] soy-milk from SoGood because I like the nutty, slightly oatmeal-like flavour and the consistancy.
Once tried it with an English breakfast tea, and it wasn't too good though >.o

I'm intrigued by making my chai tea [proper, loose chai tea made half milk, half water in a pan] with soy milk though! Sounds like that'd actually be very good!
Thankies for the idea =3

Soymilk tastes very good in tea. Being a vegan, I have to use soymilk in my tea as a replacement for milk. Every now and then at tea parties, I'll put soymilk instead of milk into my creamer, and none of my guests ever notice the difference.

Whenever I make chai, I usually use vanilla soymilk in it. Chai is usally flavoured with vanilla, and since vanilla extract leaves an icky alochol taste in tea, vanilla soymilk is a prefect replacement! ^_^

Silk regular or vanilla is good as well, it's cheaper too!!
try Country Peach tea by celestial seasonings with soy milk, Peaches and cream!!! (make sure to overbrew it [brew for 10 min instead of 6] so that the peach flavor comes through)
