I just recently started entertaining the thought of buying an extra head off my friend's El special set, and painting him to be Hora from the Visual Kei band Schwarz Stein.

If I were to get the head, do you think he would eventually grow into Hora's persona?

I don't really want to have a doll that is Hora... I want the doll to be himself.
But I want to have one that looks like Hora.

What are everyone else's thoughts on a doll created just to exist as a character?

I think it would be really cool - but i think it would be harder to get attatched to a doll like that emotionally. So, not bad for a third or fourth, but it wouldn't be a first choice for me. ^_~ (But someday, yeah!)

I think your ability to bond with and love the doll would depend on how much you care for the character.

My friend's first two dolls were modeled after characters. She's gotten one so far (the other is still being made) and has had no problems bonding with it.

Personally I would love to get a doll and model him after L from Death Note. Maybe a Chiwoo...

I'm just wondering if I'd like him enough to buy him a body...

I've prettymuch decided that he would be an El special. I'd probably mod his eyes a little.

I've had fantasies of basing a doll around D from Petshop of Horrors, but I wouldn't do that until I've gotten Brenin and perhaps a Bermann

This is just my opinion but I think Bermann is WAY too masculine to be D. But then again I've seen only seen one that I liked so I'm obviously a little biased.

But seeing as how I've officially decided that Donovan needs to look like Gerard from My Chemical Romance I obviously can't be against dolls cosplaying. *L* But y'know Gerard is lovely and Key has a thing for him... so I can only imagine how he'll feel when I finally get Donovan.

When I get my KD Ani girl, I'm going to blush her green and she's going to become Elphaba from Wicked. Then I'll get my DoD Leya to be Glinda. 3nodding I'll take them both to the play when it comes to my city.

Oh after my flub with the whole D/Berman thing, I saw someone's Hound (Haund... however it's spelled I've seen it both) who really WOULD make a wonderful Count D. Chances are if you've been on DoA you've seen it too. 3nodding

I figured it out!
Once I make him Hora, he'll stay Hora for a while and hopefully be able to borrow a body from someone (although I don't really want to make a small Hora costume. D smile

And then he'll either wind up as Lestat or Louis. I just wish it was a vampire head. XD

I think that it would be just as easy to bond emotionally with a doll that's based on a character. I've always wanted a dollfie dream that would look like Chii (Chobits).

I personally think it would be a little harder, atleast for me at least.
Although I could totally bond with a Lestat. I'd probably get annoyed with Louis and I have no clue how things would work out with Hora. (Yay for MPD dollfies! biggrin )
