Bobby was sitting out around the village, watching.... the massive amounts of people that weren't walking by.... Actually, she just liked being outside, lounging in the autumn sun with her piles of food nearby. Who needed to get up and do anything????
She was lying on her back, on a blanket. Two baskets of food were nearby. After her changes, Bobby was having too much trouble trying to get her backpacks figured out.... so for now it was wicker baskets that didn't require nimble fingers.
Every now and then, a contented pig-grunt echoed through the buildings. Come to think of it, Bobby knew she never would have done anything like this.... before....

With a long, deep stretch, that made her features even longer than they already seemed, the deer stepped out of her room. The sun was shining again. She'd wanted rain very badly lately. And sleeping in her room was starting to grow increasingly uncomfortable. She'd take the forest bed over that squishy mattress any day now. It was time for the habit of using furniture to die out completely.
Emerwyn had decided that today was a day to not think about anything that she had to be thinking about. The talk with Liamh had brought some refreshment to her. And if she could hold on to that, she'd be fine, at least for the day. This was provided she didn't happen to run in to anyone who reminded her of her recent plight. Or her old ones. Things that hadn't been mentioned out loud or silently to the deer in many weeks. It was not the time. She was in emotional hibernation. Until she was ready to go and face her destiny.
She walked through the village with the thought in her head to go to the beach. She hadn't been there in a while. But a strange noise echoed through the village paths. An awkwardly piggish grunt. The noise came from her chosen direction as it was, so she followed it. And there she found - an awkward pig. It was..... Bobby. She had met Bobby once. Oh, what a wonderful meeting they had, too! Bobby had made her feel so good about - oh. Well. There's no avoiding it now. Emerwyn pressed forward.

Bobby heard the crunching feet on the ground. And then, her nostrils were assailed with a pleasant scent. Whatever it was, it smelled of pines and pollen. The scent wasn't overwhelming. For awhile, Bobby just stayed there, smiling at the new smell the wind brought to her.
They were getting closer, and finally the pig cracked open an eye and positioned herself to see who was coming. Seeing it was Emerwyn, Bobb'y smile widened and her eyes sparkled. "Well hello again!" she waved a hooved hand and then attempted to pick up a particularly large mushroom.
Emerwyn got closer, and the pig watched the deer patiently. The creature had loads of patience.... though it was hidden by its immense size of body and laziness. Bobby didn't know what had been going on in the other woman's life, so she wasn't one to pry. She did recall mention of... a wedding. It had been a long time, though.....
Finally the deer was close, and Bobby could see the wear time had done on the woman. She looked aweful, and the pig's smile dropped. Concern immediately took over the look in her eyes. Bobby looked up at Emerwyn, "Are you alright?" Her voice was low, but audible.

"Oh, greetings, Bobby!" Emerwyn smiled brightly. Bobby really was a sweet woman, and should she bring up that certain someone, it wouldn't be her fault. Emerwyn would have to manage a way around it. "I am rather content, actually. Far better than I have been." In fact, this was true. Emerwyn's drawn-in, shadowed face, and her soft, untracable voice made it difficult to know just what she was feeling. It often came across that the deer was brooding over something, which, more often than not, the melancholy woman was.

Bobby's smile slowly came back. She took a thoughtful bite from her mushroom, careful around her elongated tusks. "Well then..... I am glad things are going better now." The pig struggled to her hooved feet. She swayed precariously, still unsteady on her newer legs. The woman had control though.
Her urge to give Emerwyn a hug was almost unbearable. She was trying to decide if that was the woman talking or the pig, when Bobby's memory came back. Last time, the deer had been so happy, radiating with the emotion. Now....
"Were you on a walk somewhere?" Bobby asked, eyeing Emerwyn from behind her mushroom. "If so, would you mind if I joined you... I need to starting working out... slimming down you know...." so, in reality that was a very sore spot for her.... but it was better to joke about it then reflect too much.

Emerwyn nodded. "As am I."
"I was planning on heading to the beach today. It has been a long time since I've seen the wide waters, and it has been just as long since I came to terms with the part it has playe in my life."
She knelt down to pick up one of the baskets of food. "And how has life been to you?"

The beach. Bobby unintentionally shuddered. "Uhhh... I had a... bad experience there last time. I have no wish to repeat that. Of course, it is just the water that is so....." her words trailed off as the woman was relieving the moment... the water, the near-drowning experience.... the horror.
She started to hyperventilate before she caught herself. Bobby slowed her breathing and then tried to mimic the deer to grab the other basket. She was unbalanced almost immediately and dropped to the ground with an audible, sickening thunk.
"Awwwwr...." Bobby groaned as she rubbed her bruised butt. Before anything else could be said, she put her arm through the basket handle and stood.
The pig gave Emerwyn a look as to asking about her life. It said, 'it'd be better if I wasn't so big.....'
"Well, it's been better.... the body seems to get worse with each change. If there's another one, I'll just be a blob with sticks out for limbs. So... " Bobby gave a half-smile, "would you like to lead the way?" Was she just stalling?

Emerwyn moved to help Bobby when she fell, but she was quick to get up on her own. So the deer stood, upset that Bobby had to suffer such a difficult change.
She put a hoofed hand on her shoulder. "Do not worry. If you do not wish to go to the beach, we can simply walk about. Though, I find that returning can settle previous disputes with nature... Whatever you wish." She nodded, and started to walk. They may as well get going somewhere.

Bobby put her hoof over Emerwyn's in a thankful gesture. There was at least one other person who knew what it was like to loose and resemblance to fingers. Hooves were difficult, to say the least. She was thankful that Emerwyn didn't want to go to the beach.
"Yeah..." the pig snorted ironically, "like a stone could take on an ocean...." Her half-smile was an attempt to imagine that.

"I have learned through my many strange experiences to not doubt any possibility," she said cryptically.
So, instead of attempting to take on the mundane task of conquering the great salt-water demon, Emerwyn took a walk with a pig woman. The autumn sun really was lovely. But Emerwyn wished, and she wished aloud, "that I could feel that wonderful chill passing through the trees, or watch the New England trees transform in a whirlwind of colors. Or the England trees." She sighed. "Now there is a sight I have not seen in years."

"Yes Aristotle," Bobby giggled. Emerwyn sounded like a philosopher that time. How Bobby missed the company of other women.... for so long, only Pyroth was her companion... and while she loved him... well, a woman just needed another woman at times!
"Ahh, sounds lovely..... I sometimes miss the smog and noise of glorious New York City. There was just always so much to do.... things to see. Broadway, the Art Museum... everything." she was a bit wistful.

Emerwyn laughed. At least in this case her strange speech was appreciated. A joke was better than a cold shoulder.
"You... you lived in New York City? As did I; for five years, after I left England... Jerrick and I would go up to New Hampshire to watch the leaves change in the fall. Central Park never quite had the same feel."
It was only because of Jerrick that she moved to the city. She had met Jerrick in England; he'd been staying with Ketta... They'd only known each other for two years before they decided to move to New York together...

Bobby grinned toothily, "Lived there all my life... well, since I arrived here.... Born, raised, and...." the pig paused, her smile falling. New York City was also where her husband and children were. She would always love her children... but now with Pyroth.... Bobby wasn't sure she felt the same way about Trevor. But, she'd always have the good memories with him; and he with her.... she would much rather have him think her dead than this.
The pig shook off the melancholy, there was no reason to open that can of beans. Mmmm, beans. She lusted for a bean casserole now.
"Central Park was always pretty.... but I always loved the glistening buildings and the colorful lights. Besides, Central Park had the worst crime rate an homicides...." Okay, so maybe that was a bit of cop dry-humor.
"So... Jerrick...." Her eyes twinkled gossiply.
