doing your division
on my heart –
like it’s your personal calculator
makes me wonder
if you hate algebra
as much as you say you do,

because you always said my heart was something special.

somewhere you missed
a number
in your calculations and i felt it –
my heartbeat skips

and

it is not at all uncomfortable,
as if a bit of oxygen
had gotten lost on its way to my lungs;
like a pleasant asthma attack.

when it runs out
of battery, i love the tender
replacement of two double As;
as if you’d pay
just to keep my heart beating.

I've never thought of comparing batteries to love before...

Oh, nice. I like how you kept the calculator-theme going throughout the whole piece.

I thought that this was really interesting, I've never read a poem like this before, I found it really intruging and ineresting. It was really good! ^_^

^^ It reminds me of a song about the 'math of love' or something like that.

I'd actually like to see some more of this. My question is that it reads more like lyrics to a song. How did you write it to read? [Weird phasing, I know]

I like the line breaks in this, and the emphasis added to the words because of it. Nice. (I'd insert a cookie emoticon if they had one...)
