C'mon. We've all got 'em, otherwise we wouldn't be sticking around in our jobs, right? So share!
ME FIRST!
Today was an amazingly wonderful day. I didn't even want to show up today, but instead decided to make a late enterance. Shift manager sees me walk in and hangs up the phone. Yup, that means "I was just phoning you."
Meh. My two weeks is already in the office, you can't do nothing.
Then I find out who I'm working with. ZOMG NO WAI!!!
Manager boss lady: I like her, and wanted to know if she found my note. Guy: YAY! We are like the 'sarcastic squad'. So mean to each other, yet we both know the rules of the game. Girl: Thought she quit. I usually have a good shift when she's around.
WOO HOO! I could predict it would be a good night.
The bills came slow, leaving us plenty of time to work on cleaning the kitchen (inspector lady came today ><) and much more time to chat.
The girl made a deal with the manager in order for her to stay. Better pay and hours.
The guy used to work at McDonalds (so we swapped stories) and I made a joke about how he really moved up the ladder with that move (I know, I did the exact same thing)
Eventually I told them I'm quitting:
Me: Yeah, well, I'm outta here. Her: O.O NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Me: I know! gonk Her: But you're so fun! gonk Me: I know! gonk Her to guy: She's, like, the best person here! Him: crying yeah Me: And I'm never ever ever ever EVER coming back!!!! Not even to visit twisted Her: crying Me: I'm not like Matt and Blaire. Her: *laughs* yeah. Me: I mean geez, they're here more now than when they were working here! They still make their own food! *manager boss lady walks up, wiggles her butt at us, and walks away* *continuation of conversation*
EDIT: Forgot the point of this post earlier. lol
It was a good night because the people I was working with is the best bunch there. Unlike every other night for the past month, I actually held a conversation. Also unlike every other night for the past month, I wasn't the only one making pizzas/cleaning. The place was pretty damn clean the entire night. Jokes were made and laughed at. And I didn't get pissed off once.
Yes, a good night. One of a few that I can remember. Which is why I decided to make this thread/write it down.
Good things are harder to remember than bad ones, so whenever you've had a shotty day you can always come back here to remind yourself that there are good days as well.

I've had a few pretty good days most of those were days BSing with the owner he's a pretty cool cat when you get him in the right mood. Other than that it's pretty much the same old same old. Occasionally my days are brightened up wehn my regulars decide to show up.

I think the best night ever was the night I was sitting on the floor in the shampoo isle playing dominoes with the little kid shampoo off the bottom shelf. Of cousre the associate from that department was trying to put them on the shelf, but I was having too much fun. And the thing that made it all worth wild was that the duty manager was walking by when I was knocking them down and didn't say a word, she just looked at us then kept on walking.

I had some great days at all my jobs.
One time at the movie theatre when I was a manager, the day was going really slow. So I got one concession ready to open for the night shift, and closed another one down early. I played tag with the ushers, running around the halls. Nobody was in Longest Yard so we hung out in there and laughed. And because everything was ready to go, I got the paperwork and money done and got outta there quick! =)
Then there was the day at Walmart... rofl. My friend Cody and I were set on several tasks together. They involved a lot of climbing around and goofing off and not hard work. (We were daytime stockers, which meant we got a lot of nothing done because it's impossible to stock anything during the day there.) At one point, he was throwing popcorn tins down to me, he started throwing them faster and faster. Finally... he threw one so hard, I got my hands around it, but didn't stop it, and it smashed me in the face. I busted my lip with my tooth and everything. It was absolutely hilarious. Then he almost hit a kid with one but hit me instead. We knocked over a huge pallet of candy, climbed around in the freezer... ah, good times.

I usually have it pretty easy unless the hard noses are there.
When it's tough I remember how badly my last job treated me so I feel better.

alright so tonight was one of those good days. One where I had managed to not get any bad customers, and got to do a whole lot of nothing while getting paid. Sure I made it look like I was busy spending a lot of time inventory prepping stuff, but I wasn't.
But anyways, at 10 when we had closed and there were still a few customers making their way for the door, sandy and myself managed to end up in the front seasonal dept. This of course if just full of all the valentines day crap, and well I have this thing about a try me button redface . wouldn't you know it we had the entire wall set off in different combinations of toys.
You would have thought that there was some little kid in there just playing around with all the noise we were making. It was great that the manager didn't even care that we were just playing around.

I think the best day I've had at work so far was when i was notetaking for this guy who was deaf. Basically, you have 2 laptops linked together, the notetaker types what the lecturer is saying and the other person reads it on the other laptop (this is for when we can't get regular sign language translators for classes)
Anyways, he wa sthe first guy i did it for so i wass pretty nervous at first, didn't know if i would be able to keep up (and i always used to make more mistakes and slow down when people watch me type)
About half way through the semester he asked me how i was finding it and i said it was fine, that i was worried at first but i seemed to be keeping up ok
And he said that i was one of the best notetakers he had had crying
I was so flattered
