Ger looked around, his mane getting in his way now and again, at least it looks better now that the cowlick seems rather unnoticeable....okay it was, but at least it looked better. The male's mane had finally taken form, slowly growing along his neck and the part on his head had grown and fell over his eyes. At least it didn't itch anymore. His form had filled out too, all that running and hunting...it did quite teh number. His chest was filled and his muscles were a good size for his age, more time to work on them. At least he could defend himself well and run long enough to do things, especially chasing prey down. Ger was just growing.
Carefully, he treked along the path from the Pride Lands after coming from the Maziko. At least he walked along the border rather through it. He didn't want to think of it at the moment, there was so much going on right now. Then he paused.
"Maybe I should see if Kaede is around...I promised I'd play with her...that was a while ago."
His teal eyes looked side to side as if thinking, perhaps he should. It had been some time since he had done that, huh? Ger turned around, took a deep breath, and then bellowed out, roaring out.
"KAEDE!"

Daydreaming, she was running now, green hues cast upward towards the blue sky, her egs in the air, moving slightly. She was running, she was bigger, almost there, almost there...darn. She missed, even if ehr dreams she couldn't hunt well. What was taking so long? She wanted to be bigger, be able to hunt prey like the other lions did.
What was wrong with her?
Kaede was now somewhere else, familiar, someone else too. aller, bigger, a dream figure, it always was. Voice was soothing, he would protect her until she got big. He would be so proud of the friends she had made, how she had pinned the lion Ororo to the ground. He would be happy, and she would be happy.
It had been so long though.
She sighed, tail flicking back adn forth, she was within the tall green grass of the Pridelands, near the borders again, she was still waiting, to see him come back. Kaede missed him, he was the first friend she ever made, her best friend. But he was still gone. Closing her eyes she tried to imagine his voice again, but couldn't, she could see what he looked like, but it was blurred, fading.
A roar broke her illusion.
Eyes opening quickly she rolled over and popped her head up to look around. Was she still alone? Or was that part of her dream? They called her name, so familiar, a bit deeper though now, a figure in the distance...could it be?
"Ger?" he voice was still quiet, but she was unsure of who it was, was it really him?

Ger smiled, it had been so long since he had done that. Roaring. Actually, he began to chuckle a little. It was actually quite fun. Perhaps....it was just something that lions did. Communicate. He wondered how far it would have travelled. Could it travel back to Kujack? Could he hear it? Could Aysha hear it? Perhaps Ezeoha could hear it too. Maybe Trina could hear his voice. Have they forgotten his voice? It was deeper now, grown too, it was different. Someone must've heard it, perferably the little jackal he wanted to see.
Kaede, the jackal, strange. Wonder if she still thinks she's a lion....
He said with a chuckle, sitting down on the ground, his tail swinging behind him. It had been some time since the two met. She was quite playful in her own canid way, even if she fell to the delusion of herself being a feline like himself.
Ger paused again, looking up to the sky.
One....two....three....
Time was up. Ger took another breath and roared out again.
"KAEDE!"

Then it was quiet, she could even hear the bugs rustling through the grass. She couldn't see well from here. She crawled on top of a stone to her side, and tried to peer out into the distance, the figure was still shadowed in black. Why was this so hard? Her tail flicked back and forth as she tried to determine what to do.
Then she heard it...she heard him, louder now.
"GER!" she howl/roared. It was a mix of her excitement and happiness, it had to be him! Only he knew her real name. She bounced up and down on the stone, flailing her paws so that perhaps he could see, then she slipped and fell into the grass with an 'umf' as her belly hit the ground. She scrambled against the earth to get her footing, and then she was off, running as fast as her little paws could carry her.
She was weaving through teh grass, creating a path that stayed behind her. All that mattered was that Ger was here. Bursting out from the grasses she kept going. Ger looked so big from here, was that...a mane upon his head forming? Wow!...but why wasn't she getting one yet? She didn't even have fluff atop her head like other lionessess...
Kaede tried skidding to a halt, but she was so happy, obvious w=from the way her tail was wagging, she slid into his forlegs, noticing indeed he was HUGE compared to her now.
"Ger!" she snuggled against his forearms, she was in paradise for a moment now.
Her best friend came back.

Furry ears perked up when his name was called. A female's voice. Soft and yet rough. Young. A soft smile, it was her, surely. Ger put his paws before him, trying his best to lace them together like he would normally to find that it was very difficult with his chest coming out. Great...he could not let his Dad know of this....it might disappoint him and that is not something he wanted.
His teal eyes watched as a figure, rather small, move along the grass, a trail following it.
...At least she can run...uh...pretty fast too.
He thought, watching as the bundle of fur he knew as a friend burst from the grass and come to him, hugging his leg. It had been quite long. His leg was larger now, looking down to her too. It made him feel a little bit superior, sort of special. He smiled as she squeeled his name, nuzzling him.
"Hey there Kaede, I promised I'd come back fer ya, right? Well, I am here so that promised is fufilled."
He chuckled, nuzzling down to her, licking her head softly. He felt good doing that, comforting the little one before him. Making her feel safe and protected was his goal. She had grown some too. Maybe he shouldn't bring up the jackal topic.
"So how is my little lioness friend doing? Been behaving for your parents I hope. Do anything fun while I was away?"

Her tail was wagging like it would never end, her heart beating fast, he was really here, It was true! She could cry if she wanted to, but then she wouldn't look strong if she cried in front of Ger. All the times she was sad when he didn't come the days she waited, but this time, this time he was here. He came back just like he promised.
"I'm so happy you're here! I waited for you everyday I could!" she squeaked, stepping back a little after he licked the top of ehr head, it made her giggle. Stepping back she smiled and oogled at how big he was, "You got so big Ger! And you have part of your mane too!" It made her jealous on the inside, she wanted one too.
"I've been trying to get faster and stronger so we could play, but I didn't grow as much as you did," her ears fell back somewhat, "I think there's something wrong with me..." there was a hint of sadness in her tone. But she pushed it aside.
"How have you been Ger? You wouldn't believe the friends I made! I even pinned a lion! He's a little less big then you are now, Ger it was so cool I wish you coul've seen it!" she was actually talking about a real lion and not a jackal, hopefully he might understand that, either way, she was just so happy her words ran fast.

She was a bit...talkative. Then she mentioned him not coming back. Actually...he almost forgot about it if it weren't for that short meeting with Goma...stupid jackal. He'd get himself killed if he acted like that around anyone else...He pushed him aside and smiled down to her, laying down as he did.
"Sorry, Kaede, I've been a little occupied with my own thoughts lately. Been runnin' around into new territories and hunting rather big games. Got to keep the body good, y'know?"
He chuckled again, smiling charmingly down to her, his mane falling to the side of his head, split down the middle, the cowlick sticking out like usual.
"Well, that is what happens when you grow, Kaede. Thanks."
He replied, pawing his mane and fur, cleaning them some, making himself look more presentable. Seem to became second nature now since he lived with Kujack. Had to be presentable to be around him, or so when they first met.
"Well, if I keep running around and hunting like I am, you'll never catch up."
Ger teased, pawing at her side softly, playfully. He knew that she would not reach his level, she was not only a pup, but she was a jackal. But he could not crush her dreams like that. She can still strive and she could be better than him. Big size means harder to manuever unlike Jackals.
"Um...in that order? Ger has been good, sleeping well. I'd like to meet them some time. That is incredible! A lion? That is wonderful! Well, it was a lion nevertheless. And, I wish I was there to see it."
Again in that order, he wasn't entirely good, he was still conflicted and his sleeping habits were horrid. He did want to meet them when he got the chance. Kaede taking down a lion or a jackal...lion cub, okay, grown, unbelieveable. Another jackal was believeable. But he did want to be able to be there to see her do it. Maybe she can do it again some other time.

Kaede giggled as he apwed at her side, and she crouched down, her hind quarters in the air as her tail wagged, Ger was laying down, but that was alright, "Someday I'll catch you! Your just bigger then me right now...wait till I start to grow!" she laughed and lay down in front of Ger, smiling up at him.
He really did get very big, she wondered why it was taking her so long to get that big...strange. "I'll catch something big one day, you'll see!" She tried to think back with her time with Ororo, t was so fun. He saw the lion in her too, she tackled him, it was so nice.
"You would like Ororo, the lion thats real big, he's really nice, was apssing by here. Then I met Akiiki, his dad came to get him after, and his dad had wings Ger! Then they flew away!" Kaede knew it was all too much information at once, but she was so excited, she wanted to tell ger everything. But then she rememebred the time with the brown lion cub.
Kaede's ears folded back adn she looked at the ground and pawed at it slightly, "I met this one cub, he didn't like me, growled at me and he hurt my arm...he said I was a monster, he laughed at me when I wanted to play with him..." she looked back up at Ger with tears almost forming in her eyes, "Why would he say that? I'm not...not a monster, am I?"
She crawled closer to Ger and nestled herself between his paws, it was comfy, adn she snuggled close. She wished Ger was there when that cub said those thigns, Ger would make him be nice, she was sure of it.

Ger smiled
"Well, come back when you are older and we will have a race then. You know I will be running and hunting alot, getting stronger and faster, I hope you can keep up, cub."
He teased playfully, challenging her. Perhaps when she was older, lanky and svelte, and knows she is a jackal. Maybe she could beat him then.
"Ororo sounds like a nice lion, maybe I should meet him. A lion with wings...I saw one before, in teh Graveyard. He was a monster....would avoid him if I ever met him again. Tanaka was his name."
Then she became said when she mentioned another who made her doubt herself, questioned it. His eyes narrowed, frowning. He held her close to him, licking her head lovingly.
"That cub...he had no right to say that to you. You are who you are, no one can tell you what you are. You are not a monster, Kaede, you are a lion, a small furry lion cub. No matter what, I won't let him hurt you. If he does...I will make sure he can't anymore."

Yes, one day when she got older and bigger and faster they would race, perhaps she might even win. Either way, she would be having fun with her best friend. She listened to him speak about how he would like to meet ororo, about a god he had met, the name Tanaka.
"I didn't know his name, he was white and had big wings, but wasn't much bigger then you..." she snuggled close to him, stayed close, Ger made her feel safe. The days that she wasn't spending time with her family, she had been waiting for him, it had paid off finally, and she was glad.
She didn't even know that evil little cubs name, if she did she would tell Ger, but he never said anything, jsut mocked and laughed at her, called her a monster, it was still a horrible memory in her mind. But she was glad Ger said he would protect her, make him be nice, it meant a lot.
"How long will you stay this time Ger? Will you come back again if you go away?" she curled up more and clinged to one of his legs a bit, she didn't want him to go, but knew that if he was getting bigger, he would have bigger dreams to catch.

Ger paused and thought. 'How long will you stay this time...? Will you come back again if you go away?' it rang in his head, his ears folded back. Perhaps...perhaps it was time, not to stay, but to go back, go back to where he came from. He nuzzled her softly.
"Kaede, I need you to do me a favor. It is very important that you do this for me. I dunno how much it may be, I am not even sure that it would be even workable. But this is something I need you to do for me."
He said, looking at her, his tone serious and firm.
"Go to Pride Rock, try your best to find any abandoned dens that will fit a family, maybe a big one would do, but anyone will be good. I need you to do this for me. There is a chance I might be coming back...."
He smiled softly.
"For good."

She peered up at him from where she was, still nestled between his paws. Her ears perked up as he spoke, his voice was a bit different now, deeper, but still teh same Ger beneath it all.
Kaede listened intently, to find a den? She nodded, perhaps she could do that, go ask teh other lions if they knew of anyplace. Yes, that might be good, she could do that for Ger, he was her best friend afterall. But why would he-
She was silent for a moment.
He might be coming back...and staying?
Her heart beat quickened as she wriggled a bit to shift herself to grip onto his paw agin, her tail wagging happily once more, "Of course! I can try and find you one Ger!" she wondered why he needed a big den...did Ger have a family she didn't know about? Made sense.
"Will anyone come abck with you? Can I meet them?! Ger this is so great!" Kaede was so happy, Ger would be here all the time, so she would be able to find hiim easier.

Ger smiled as his paws curled around her as he spoke, she listening. She may be a pup, but she felt so much like a cub to him. Strange, but it felt right. She was young and the young needed care and protection, not to mention love.
"Thank you, Kaede, it means a lot to me."
He replied, nuzzling her softly. If he did return he would be near Pride Rock for the most part and with Kujack. It seemed like an idea, but it was not a definate choice. But having his friend find a den for him would be a good back-up in case it does work out.
"Woah, woah, slow down there, girl. There will be some coming back, maybe not. I don't quite know yet, you know? But I will be sure to call for you when I get a solid decision."
He explained, smiling charmingly to her. Actually, it was just his usual smile that just developed as he grew. He knew no other way to smile, it was just natural letting his muscles move the way they did. Ger just...smiled.
"Thank you, Kaede."

Kaede smiled up at Ger This was so exciting and it made her so happy. Then perhaps Ger could meet some of her family too, she often wandered, wondered if her brothers and sisters would want to meet Ger, they would have to, they were lions too! Just like daddy.
Her tail was wagging, she pulled back from Ger a little to bound around him in circles, prancing if you will, she was jsut so happy. Ger might stay! He might bring someone with him, that would mean more friends!
Kaede was all too happy.
"No problem Ger, I'm just so happy..." she crouched down adn wriggled her hind quarters in the air and smiled, "Then I'll get big and strong right before your eyes! Maybe with you here, I'll get bigger faster!"

Ger smiled at the "lion" as she pranced around him. It was so femine and it made that okay because she was one. She reminded him of Goma a little when he actually nice, though that was more of an act to trick him, but it showed that he did have a side like it. But Kaede's happiness was genuine, and he was glad that he was the cause of it. All he could do was smile.
"Thanks, Kaede, I am too. I might be able to come home soon and see everyone again. I just....have to talk to my Dad is all."
His ears fell back, and his eyes diverted. He had to ask Kujack if he would come with him. Ger made a promise to stay with him, he could not go back on his word. If Kujack said no, then....he could not go home. But maybe there is another way? Maybe Kujack would say yes if he begged him, nah, too humilating and degrading. Ger shook his head and smiled again, that same charming smile before and looked back to the prancing female.
"Well, maybe you might, but I am sure you will never beat me."
He replied with a smug look, confident yet playful. Playfully, he pawed at her side whenever she passed before him.
