Despite the fall season, it was still a nice sunny day on the island of Dr. Moreau. Though just because it was warm and welcoming didn't mean all the islanders were the same. Quite the contrary, most were probably rather down about their changes... though the green iguana girl was down about more than that at the moment.
It had been weeks since the incident with Alec and yet still she was just as depressed as ever. Nothing seemed to be able to cheer her up, her reflection taunting her about the things she would never have, and the ability to cry that was so forcfully taken away from her taking a toll on her emotions.
So today she sat on the beach, her scaley legs tucked to her androgenous chest and her arms wrapped around them to hug them tightly. Her five foot long tail curled around her as best it could, leaving trails through the sand where it sweapt from side to side lazily.
Like always, Amaya wore nothing but the silver pendent around her neck - her frame being too inhuman to really fit into anything anymore. Yellow gaze stared out as the waves licked at the sand, still a yard or two away to keep from getting cold at the touch of the icey water.
Though a thick frown still knitted itself onto her features, chin resting on her knees. Not even the sun could make her happy.

Quite opposite to the resident Iguana, Marshall was blisfully enjoying the warm day, espically since warm days usually meant little to no Mosquito problems. Deciding to take a short stroll, Marshall found himself on the beach, looking out at the crystal-blue water. Even though this wasn't his FIRST time on the beach, it was the first time he was neither mopey OR passed out from alchohol.
As Marshall enjoyed the scenery, he caught some thing...green out of the corner of his eye. It was about the size of a teenager, with a long tail and...spikes. Marshall was getting use to seeing strage or bizare things, espically since he was one himself now!
"HEY!" Marshall called out to her as he walked over. Seeing her up close, she was really far along into her transformation...Maybe done, even?

And even though her hearing was nowhere near the best, her eyesight wasn't half bad. She caught the young man's figure before the muffled yell reached her mostly non-existant ears. Her tongue flickered and her head tilted to get a better look at him, though she waited until he was closer to say anything. Now that her voice was so soft she was starting to get used to closing the distance.
"Hey." She said, her voice rather monotone and distinctly female - the only feminine thing about her. Looked like another new guy... at least he'd changed once - that meant she didn't have to deal with anyone screaming at her for being a giant lizard.
Amaya stayed sitting, her arms still hugged around her legs as she looked up at him.

Marshall ploped down next to the giant Lizard, his slightly oblivious nature showing through. If he ws any one else, they would've been able to tell that the young lizard-person would rather be left alone. Marshall, however, tragically lacked this instinct.
"So, the name's Marshall. Yours?" he said, extending a webbed hand to the lizard, noticing that it was in the nude.
Oh well...I guess its like my shoes. After you transform, some cloathes are just kinda hard to wear.

The girl looked at his webbed hand before extending her own gigantic one, her clawed fingers curling around his fleshy palm as she shook it. The scales were rather odd to the touch, but unlike most believed they weren't slimey at all... just cool.
"Names Amaya." She said in her unusually quiet voice before hugging her hand around her legs once more.

Marshall shook the Lizard's scaley hand, smiling as he did so. It felt cool, in both senses of the word. "Amaya, right? Heh heh...Thats a Gir-..." Marshall couldn't finish the word, as a giant DUH smacked him across the face.
Amaya was a Girl.
Amaya was Naked.
And Marshall? Marshall was embarassed beyond reason.

Amaya blinked and looked over at him again, having gone back to looking at the water after shaking his hand. "S'a what?" She asked, having not caught his last word or even knew why he suddenly looked embarassed.
She flicked her tongue and sure enough it confirmed it. "... What?"

In what probably timed in under one half of a second, Marshall had removed his vest and held it out to Amaya, red in the face and unable to maintain eye contact. He really SHOULDN'T have been that embarassed over seeing a naked, lizard woman, but for some reason, he was! Perhaps it was because he still held on to the idea that regardless of how the looked, they were all still human. Or some thing along those lines.
"Um...I...Um...I think my Vest would fit you..." he said, red as a beet and looking away.
Oh god...I'm a pervert!

Oh dear...
"Uhm... oh... kay..." Amaya hesitantly reached out and took the orange vest. She really wasn't bothered with being naked and wouldn't have taken it if Marshall hadn't been so nervous.
She began to put it on, clawed hand carefully slipping through the arm holes and then her head before the rest was slid on. The neck and chest was a little tight, but it was better than having the poor guy freaking out about her nudity.
"Sorry." She said, tugging at the neck a little and pulling her pendent out so it would hang around her neck again. "Not used to people being bothered about seeing me naked. I don't exactly have anything to show anymore..." The lizard trailed off, the same sad frown on her features.

"Well, you're still a girl regardless...Sorry if I freaked you out too much, neh?" Marshall said, turning back to her, rubbing the back of his neck, still slightly red in the face.
"So, enjoying the view out here?" the white-shirted man asked, staring out into the ocean. Here he was, his nose and feet large, his fingers webbed, enjoying the company of a lizard-girl who was now wearing an orange vest...And all he could think about was how pretty the water was.

"I guess so..." She said to his first statement. Most of the time she didn't even feel human anymore, let alone like a girl. She was just a... thing. Her shoulders slumped and she hugged her legs again.
As for his second question she just gave a "Hnn." and a shrug. She had seen the waves too many times to really think them beautiful. Not much was enjoyable these days. The water was too cold to swim in most of the time.

Marshall looked at her, and even with a rather...Lizard face, he knew that she was upset. "Umm...Y'know..." Marshall said, clearing his throat, "I'm...A good listener. Its not like I can do much else any more...So, um, if you wanna talk about some thing..." Marshall said, shrugging with a small smile.
He realised that he was being a busy-body, but to be honest? He didn't really care. He didn't like to see people upset. Espically girls.

Amaya sighed. Why did everyone she ran into want to listen to her whinning? She burried her long snout into her legs, tucking it between them and her barreled chest. "I tried talking to someone. It didn't help." Came her muffled voice.

Marshall smirked, "Well...Maybe you weren't talking to the RIGHT person, y'know? Or some thing corny along those lines." Marshall said, trying his best to cheer her up. He wasn't sure WHY, though. I mean, he barely knew her! Perhaps it was that sinking feeling of "we're all in this together".
"But if you don't want to talk, thats fine. I'm fine just sitting out here and staring at the waves." Marshall added, joking of course.

The girl shrugged. "No, he was nice." She said, her voice still muffled by her legs as she shook her head gently.
