The Lin/Hayashi have been known to be a minor noble clan in Soul Society because of their massive reiatsu and their ability to control and use kido. Most of them are also experts at using techniques such as shunpo along with other attacking techniques such as hakuda, zanjutsu or kido and are generally wise. The Lin practice a quick-draw style of combat (Iaijutsu) but also incorporate any knowledge given by others into their style of fighting. The Lin Clan Manor is currently located in District 1 of Rukongai.
The Lin Noble Clan has existed for over 1000 years. During the early years, the Lin Nobles (as they were called back then) began their quest for power as one of the dominant powers of Soul Society along with it's founder, Lin Ren Bao. The clan began to adopt many talented members into it, soon becoming noticed as a minor noble clan. It continued to grow in power and numbers reaching numbers and power that could easily make the Lin the most powerful noble clan in all of Soul Society if it had continued at the rate of recruitment. But sadly, with the rumored death of it's founder Lin Ren Bao, the clan discontinued it's recruiting efforts to what it is this day. Although Ren Bao has been said to have been killed off a few years back by hollows, he was actually selected to take the place of one of the central 46 who had recently resigned his position at that time. This is a secret that only the head of the Lin Clan knows about.
Due to the fact that the Lin Clan was respectively large during it's prime days, it happened to sprout several clans within itself such as the Kareki (lit. Dead Tree) clan which is a large peasant clan whom one of the teachers Nagi Kareki belongs to. However, Nagi no longer assosciates himself with nobles and rejects any story of the Kareki Clan ever being part of the Lin Clan.

Physical Description: Tsai is 5'7, and has a slender built. He looks to be on asian descent and carries his Zanpakutou horizontally at the end of his spine, unlike the tradition way of mounting it on the side or vertically on the back. Tsai wears glasses. Tsai's left arm is an artificial arm made from quincy silver (Gingishu (lit. Silver Arm)[See History for more info].
Background: When Tsai was still a human being working as a carpenter's apprentice, he died in a air raid (World War II) in the mortal world aftering living up to the age of 14 in China. Tsai was brought to Soul Society where he was confused for several years. He was no very skilled but he had a large deposit of reiatsu. He was soon adopted into the Lin clan, at age 49, and was trained. Ever since, he decided to work hard to become a shinigami. Even since being accepted into the academy. Tsai has adapted a half kendo half Iaido style of fighting with the sword and a Wu Shu style of fighting with hand to hand combat. But due to so many styles being combined, they were not used efficiently, so thus, he combined various parts of each style to create his own.
Personality: Generally, he is care free, and cool. When ticked, he can lose his cool. Although, in battle, nothing seems to tick him off, he is pretty cool headed and thinks up strategies quickly since he isn't really a powerhouse for attacks. He is at times, a joker and a good friend. However, he dedicates himself to what he finds most interesting in life, research in hollows and when disturbed can be rather unpleasant about it.

Tsai's Hollow Notes Hollows that I have encountered.

Codename: Digger
Description: The Digger has been recorded already in the shinigami archives as a student killer. Recent cases have shown that out of the many hollows that have been recorded into the archives, the Digger has claimed more shinigami student lives than any other hollow. The hollow is a mole-like hollow and stands at 10 feet in height. It attacks using it's razor sharp claws which help it dig the ground beneath it. The Digger is very adapt when it comes to moving underground. One of it's weapons in it's arsenal is a very powerful dive that it does once it surfaces from the ground. This hollow possesses a thick layer of fur which reeks of urine and feces. If my speculations are correct, the Digger is a colleague of Two-Faced, since they were both found together and Two-Faced did mention something about the Digger.

Description: A humanoid classed hollow, that possesses what appears to be two hollow masks that have merged together. My theory on this phenomena is that two hollows decided to merge but in the process something went wrong thus resulting in a hollow like Two-Faced. Two-Faced is unlike any hollow I have seen. It possesses speed and power that is almost equal to that of a shinigami student's. During the course of our first meeting with this hollow, he fled when he was near death into Hueco Mundo.

Description: A bull-looking hollow that is able to walk on its hoofed haunches. Aside from the typical mask, and the black skin, it seemed to possess a large meadow of black fur on its whole body. It is not as smart as the hollows I have seen before however it does possess a unique ability unlike many of the hollows I have previously faced. It possessed a frost breath kind of ability similar to the "Cero" ability I have read in textbooks. Although it looked awfully powerful, it was as smart as a nut and was relatively easy to take down with Kaosu's help. However, in the end Ugu Zenmaru or Ugu-sensei if you wish to be formal ended up purifying the hollow.

Description: A chameleon looking hollowing with a small mask and sharp claws which it uses to swipe at people. This hollow was encountered by me during the resting period of hakuda class during my hike to Tsuki Fields, it was at first not visible to me but eventually I sensed it. This hollow has the ability to blend itself into it's surroundings blocking out it's reiatsu flow from being sensed and blocking it's physical appearance as well enabling it to sneak around and slowly kill it's enemy. At first, it seemed weak but it was intelligent and soon gained the upper hand, luckily Zenmaru Ugu was around and managed to slay the hollow.

Research Report 001 Spirit Weights: After the first test on Kaosu they seem to be fit to be able to be used on others. The Spirit Weights are used basically for training. By trapping a small amount of reiatsu into a chamber and using a spinning gear. The reiatsu will be spun around. The faster it is spun, it will emulate the feeling of high spiritual power being concentrated on one of your body parts. These balls can be placed into straps and be combined for more weight.
Currently, the only subject that this has been used on is Kaosu. He has shown outstanding endurance during the first initial test of the weights.
*UPDATE* With further testing with Kaosu, and with the experience of testing it out for myself, I can conclude that these weights are basically safe for any shinigami as long as they know their own limit.

Specials Gingishu (lit. Silver Arm)
When fighting with the ryoka known as Chimitsu, Tsai was badly injured causing him to lose his left arm. Surgery was performed and Tsai was given a new arm made from quincy silver that involves the use of nanotechnology. By pouring reiatsu into the arm, Tsai can regenerate the lost silver particles, numb his pain receptors in that arm, and even regrow the entire arm if cut off. This becomes a very handy tool for Tsai because:
a.) he can use it as a shield.
b.) it won't hurt him.
c.) it can regenerate.
When Direct Damage is done to the arm, Tsai can pour reiatsu into the wound in the arm and regenerate like a hollow would although not as quickly. [Cost: 1 HP = 1 RP]
When Wide Area Damage meaning an attack like a blast or something that is aimed at the whole body, Tsai can pour reiatsu to into his arm and regenerate it back to normal even though the rest of his body takes full damage. [Cost: 10 RP = Recover 10% Of Damage Taken]
When the entire arm is severed off. Tsai can regenerate the entire arm by placing a small piece of whatever is left of the arm, much like an arrancar and simply attach it back on. The arm is severed if it is hacked at three times. [Cost: 2 RP = 1 HP]

Current Plotline Hollow Research: The only real thing that actually interests Tsai in life anymore, research, and his field: hollows. With no icons such as Chimusha Hojo appearing to guide research to a new level Tsai is determined as ever.
Enter The Four Heavenly Kings!: Chimitsu, the female shinigami who caused enough damage to Tsai's entire left arm that it had to be replaced, part of a gang of ryoka who want to see the demise of Soul Society. We'll see about that.
Private Training In Karakura Town: Shirotori-sama has asked me to go collecting hollow mask fragments in the mortal world spot called Karakura Town. She hasn't told me what it's for but what other things do you do with hollow fragments? Research of course...
Updated: With the first passing day gone, Tsai is encountering wave after wave of hollows, Soul Society has decided to give him a few extra gadgets to help him with his mission: Soul Candy, a Gigai, and of course a modified cellphone to help him with his patrols and hollow locating.
Roaming Hollow: The only hollow who has escaped Tsai and various other shinigami multiple times only to come back stronger: Two-faced. One of the hollow Tsai desires to purify the most. Judgement day will come for him eventually.
Updated: Two-faced appeared in Karakura Town, and morphed into a single faced hollow, completing it's morph from before.

Shikai Information Zampaktou name: Lei Gong (chinese lit. Duke Of Thunder)
Look: Lei Gong looks like a jian (a chinese double edged straight sword), however the blade is slightly curved. The overall weight of Lei Gong is approximately that of a broom, making it light. The tsuba (hand guard) is shaped like a thunder bolt whirlpool.
When in Shikai form, the blade of Lei Gong looks like that of a thunder bolt and a whip-like weapon with a sharp kunai-like weapon at the end appears attached to the pommel of Lei Gong. This can be used as a weapon along with the blade either ranged or melee. The zampakuto itself gets heavier but not too much. The zampakuto changes colour to a light shade of yellow.

Zampakuto Soul: Lei Gong in chinese mythology is the god of thunder although it is translated out into english as the duke of thunder. Lei Gong takes form of a frail old man who doesn't appear as he seems.
Powers: Lei Gong has several abilities each related to eletricity, thunder or lightning and it is one of the most power electric-typed zampakuto in Soul Society.

[BASIC ABILITIES]
(Tenbatsu: Raiden No Inji) Wrath Of God: Imperial Seal Of Thunder
Tenbatsu: Raiden No Inju (lit. Wrath Of God: Imperial Seal Of Thunder) is the first ability that Lei Gong offers to Tsai. This technique works only after a successful attack occurs. During the time the blade of the zampakuto meets the skin of the target, microscopic amounts of reiatsu is released from the blade in the form of a small amount of electricity. This travels up to the brain to disturb the neural signals that control the movement of the limbs and other body parts. Once reaching the brain, the electric ‘agents’ will destroy the signals as they try to get to their destination making the user paralyze for a set period of time. When pain is felt by the target, the agents automatically disappear.
Effects:
* -Along with Shikai Damage, target will be unable to dodge or attack for the next move giving the user the chance to attack ONCE with any sort of attack or enable the second part of the technique(below).
* -Perform Reiatsu check to see if successful.
* -User anti-reiatsu number:

Upon uttering the word “Chiru (lit. Scatter)” the electrical ‘agents’ will disperse from one agent into millions, then those millions continue to split. These agents will then hitch a ride onto a signal as the brain sends them and drive the signals towards random directions. This causes the neural signals to run wild throughout the body making basic movements like moving your fingers a hard task. If you wanted to move your finger, your foot would move. If you wanted to blink, you’d stick your tongue out. Basically, your whole body would be rewired randomly and constantly. Unlike the paralyzation part of this ability, the electrical agents have become too small to cause any serious damage when you try to resist them using bursts of reiatsu. If a person has enough reiatsu to rid himself/herself of these agents with a quick burst of reiatsu, he or she can although at a price. If he/she is successful in removing the agents, she will regain control of their body parts but if not, the agents will be charged completely to full power and continue with more power.
Effects:
* Target loses 50% of their Attack Accuracy, Damage and Dodge.
* Each attempt at release required reiatsu check.
* They will lose an additional 5% for every failed attempt at releasing themselves. Maximum: 75%

[ADVANCED TECHNIQUES]
Denkou No Kekkai (Barrier Of Lightning)
An advanced technique that Lei Gong is able to use later on is “Denkou No Kekkai (lit. Barrier Of Lightning)”. This technique enables the wielder to create a barrier of both reiatsu and lightning (hence the name) around himself/herself. This is most effective against close range fighters. If a target is too close to the wielder when he or she springs up the barrier, the target will get zapped as the barrier forms. If a close range fighter strikes the barrier after it has formed, he or she will also be zapped. The wounds from being zapped are nothing serious, it’s more like a quick sting. If the attacker is strong enough, he/she can break through the barrier and continue his attack (although it will be weakened).
When a ranged attack is used on the barrier, the attack will be negated if enough reiatsu is present, or the barrier will break but weaken the attack. Although a very useful defensive ability, it uses a lot of reiatsu when used frequently due to the fact that the shield, without any reiatsu to back it up can only take a limited amount of damage before breaking. The wielder almost always has to add his own reiatsu to make sure that the shield does not break when fighting someone at his/her own level.

* This technique can be activated just before the wielder is about to be hit.
* Negates 10 - 40 ranged damage + 5 damage per RP spent.
* If wielder does not have enough reiatsu to block the force of the object being sent towards him/her, the damage from the ranged attack is weakened by how much is blocked and the wielder takes the rest.

* Negates 10 – 30 melee damage + 5 damage per RP spent.
* If wielder does not have enough reiatsu to block the force of the strike, the damage from the melee attack will be weakened by how much is blocked and the wielder takes the rest.

Denkou No Ori (Wave Of Lightning)
Another advanced technique that Lei Gong is able to use later on is called “Denkou No Ori (lit. Wave Of Lightning)”. This ability allows the wielder to concentrate high levels of reiatsu into the tip of the blade and send “Getsuga Tenshou” waves of lightning at an enemy (except the wave is linear and not all spiraly). These waves are made up of electrical energy and reiatsu particles which cut through just about anything given the right amount of reiatsu. The waves can pretty much come out from any sort of swing, or stab from Lei Gong after the reiatsu is gathered there.
Effects:
* Damage = Double Shikai Damage + Reiatsu Mod + 2 DMG per RP spent for a maximum of an additional 50 damage.
* Is a ranged attack.
* This attack can be used as many times equal to the amount of zampakuto attacks you are capable of using.

Zanjutsu Techniques Name: Tora Tsume Yusaru (Tiger Claw Slash)
Art: Zanjutsu
Description: This technique is unique only to the Hayashi/Lin Clan and can only used with a single handed weapon. By focusing reiatsu into the blade of your zampakuto, it emits an aura. By flicking your wrist quickly you can create illusions of several blades which is actually your reiatsu. These reiatsu blades remain side by side with your actual blade for awhile therefore one can harness this power in one quick swing to deal deadly damage. This is all done in one attack. [4 Reiatsu Blades can be formed + 1 which is your actual blade]

Name: Shippo No Raikou (Lightning Tail)
Art: Zanjutsu
Description: This technique is unique to only Lei Gong. By sending reiatsu to the kunai whip of Lei Gong instead of the blade. It causes the “tail” to be electrified. As the tail archs and becomes a scorpion tail to strike an opponent after a swing, a high voltage is passed through the tail as it lunges forward to strike the opponent. If hit, the opponent will be stunned for a mere second which will affect their balance (like being tasered you tend to want to sway away from what zapped you). They will become “flat footed” after the strike and suffer a -4 dodge during the next turn.

Chiyu Techniques
Name: Chiyu no Ichi, Ichiban a Chiyu (Healing Art # 1, First Lesson Of Healing)
Effect: User places both palms on wounded being. The user recites the Kidou's incantation, and the energy put into the technique is converted into healing chi to cause the hurt person to become healed. Fairly basic technique, and allows for most younger shinigami to heal themselves and others when they are beginning their quest in becoming a Shinigami.

Styles Of Fighting: Zanjutsu Iaido mixed with Kendo: Tsai's primary style of fighting. Built up upon hundreds of years of practice with the Lin Clan. He is one of the leading experts in Soul Society in this martial art. He is the second best practitioner in the whole Lin and Hayashi Clan next to his father. Tsai has mastered all the forms of Iaido but his favourite form to use is "Nukiuchi", which involves the user to dodge an attack and respond using a frontal attack as a counter to finish off the enemy or damage. Along with having mastered Iaidojutsu in combat, Tsai also incorporates Kendo in his fighting once the blade is drawn to be more effective.
Dance of the Hurricane Of Thunder: The style of fighting that Tsai created while fighting in the mortal world during his special mission. Due to Lei Gong (Tsai's zampakuto) having a whip-like chain at the pommel-end. The use of this style is basically like fighting with a rope and a sharp object at the very end. Using the full motion of the shoulder, arm and the wrist combined with other body parts the user can control the direction of the weapon. This allows the user to spin it around them (to ward or damage enemies when surrounded) and shooting it off in one direction (to take out an enemy one by one), by putting all these wide range of motions together in a chain, it would like as if the user is dancing. This style of fighting created based on and inspired by Hitomi Shirotori.
