I heard on DeathGod.org that Japan is going to create a Death Note Video game.
Its kinda interesting...but I wonder what the game play would be like.. o-0;

I can't imagine a DN game for anything except maybe the DS, where you can write down names. Even then, it's a stretch... I can't foresee it being any good, especially if it sticks to the story. If it does, you already know what's going to happen, so you know what to do and what to avoid.
If you're an original character with the DN in your own crusade similar to Light's, with just as intelligent a foe, I think that would work better. Even so, odds are that most people won't be able to think well enough to cover their tracks and the game will be considered ridiculously hard. I can't imagine a good DN game.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing..but who knows? Maybe Japan will surprise us. But there is also the chance that the game will never come over seas to the US sad

I noticed you tend to say pretty negative things about Death Note rumors. confused

I think it's mostly because I think that they're milking the series for all it's worth. I think it was a brilliant manga, and though I haven't seen the movie, I'm all for that, too. But they're starting to take it too far. The facts in volume 13 could have been thought up after the series just so they could sell it for more, and video and card games are completely unnecessary, in my opinion. I think that the more stuff they start making for DN, the more chance it has of ruining the memory of the amazing original work and turning it instead into a moneymaking license. Again, it's my opinion, and no-one else has to think the same thing.

Exspecially when I heard that they'd be using a 'red hot chilli peppers' song. The whole thing screamed mainstream. Time has mellowed my annoyance in relatio to that though. I'm suprised to find I am actually enjoying what I have seen of the anime better than the film as far. Really, I see the anime as a chance of adding more development. Nearing the end pf the manga I thought DN lost a very important part of the 'human' factor. I see the anime as an oppotunity to get some of that back. I would not buy a DN game or other money-spinners. This cow has been milked quite enough.

But then again there is the .//Hack games for the PS2, those are really cool!

I don't know. I'd give them the benifit of the doubt on the game, but I wasn't too impressed with the movie trailer. I almost busted up laughing when I heard Dani California. I was like, WTF? It's an American Song for a Japanese movie. I bet they just bob their heads to the beat like we do to their songs.
Anways, like all movies, they are going to get as much money out of it as possible. They do it with most every series. You get cellphone straps, notebooks, dolls, etc. Their going to 'milk' it till they find out their not selling anymore.
