Suggested Weapon: When Soloing I suggest using Dual Swords but if you are in a group lances are better since this won't interfere with the other hunters. Also, if you want a higher Plate chance than it is also suggested that you have a gunner.
Suggested Armor: No point in getting a defensive armor. Instead get a set that may give you skills such as the ability to sharpen faster or have one that has hunger negation.
Weaknesses: His real weakness is his back, the place where you can jump on, but that's a place where the gunner focuses on. His elemental weakness is Dragon
Strengths: All the other elements.

Fighting Tips: It all depends on what the party wants to do. If you're trying to go after it's plates then you should have one gunner who knows what the hell he's doing to shoot it's top left spike on his back (his left) and his two front shoulders with Clusts. After a period of time doing this his plates will blow off giving you a higher chance to get it in the reward. When the gunner/s blow off the plates then they should start shooting it's back or where the tail connects to the back. Shooting his back end will cause him to trip very quickly. Just be sure that the gunners are using Clusts lvl2. If you lance than just start hitting the face and back up every few pokes. A great sword is not suggested but if the Hunter insists then he/she has to hit the stomach so that the lancers in the front won't get hit. Hammers go for the back legs. A few simple ground pounds here and there should make it fall to the floor. Dual Swords are usually for solo play but if you have a group of people with mega juices and dragon elemental dual swords then this should just completely destroy the Lao.

Description: The Old Mountain Dragon. Just think of Godzilla on all fours. He's big and looks scary but he won't bite just as long as you're not on a platform. He also won't mind getting hit in the face a whole lot since he's focusing on running away from the Fatalis. Another thing, he does not shoot fire...ever. People who insist on this needs to shut up.

Grab a hammer with good raw damage, aim for the protruding gut. And you'll be fine.
Just watch out for the feet. And when running back to change areas, avoid that dang tail swipe.

i use mono blos s with aredaline +2 and gs charge his head

Haven't got to it yet, but I'm so excited for myself

How come his head is so easy to flinch but I can't kill him there?
And the gut's the opposite.
It's hard to flinch there but easier to kill for some people.

Nuke with all kinds of possible barrel bombs. smile
