[story] In the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in the Western United States, there is a public boarding high school nestled between the snow-capped peaks, just started this school year. The name of this school? Wingate High School. Wingate is already renowned for its arts programs and is expected to have some of the best winter athletic teams in the nation.
All of the students attending Wingate are required to be involved in at least 2 extracurricular activities, whether they be clubs, sports, or other student organizations.
This first year of Wingate, we'll follow the lives of the students of the 2nd floor of the Austin Dormitory. Have fun...

Ashley collapsed on the bed in her dorm room, her earbuds still in her ears. Ah, the last year of high school. Finally...
She bounced back up. After spending the entire day up to that point unpacking her things, she was ready to go out and have some fun. But first, she thought, I really need a shower. Ashley was astounded by the accomodations at Wingate. Every student essentially lived in a master suite, complete with his or her own private bathroom and walk-in closet. She pushed open the door and reached into the glass cubicle to turn on the water before retrieving her towel from her room...
Once Ashley had finished showering, she stepped into the closet in her room to get dressed. She put on a black thermal shirt, a pair of blue jeans. She stepped over to the mirror which sat atop her dresser, where she got a black beanie out of her drawer and put it on, not wanting to deal with her hair at the moment. After putting on her eyeliner, the only real makeup she liked to wear, she pulled her black jacket off of the hook on the back of her dorm room door, and walked out into the hallway, locking the door behind her. Ashley walked down the stairs to the main lobby and out the doors onto a large deck with several other Wingate students. She took a seat at a table and put her iPod buds into her ears, being kept warm under the beanie. "Relient K... no. Underoath... not now. Skillet... nah. Oh, here we go. Pillar!" she whispered. With that, she turned on her favorite song - Frontline.

Ruby sat at a table, not far from Ashley. She had seen the girl around, they were both seniors at Wingate. Wonder where her room is...Ruby thought. She had said 'hi' to Ashley once or twice, but never really talked to her. She shifted her position in her chair, and continued reading the book that she was currently lost in. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze that played with the pages of her book. Ruby felt peaceful there.

Azalia's taxi pulled up to the school, where she thanked and paid the driver, and removed her various bags from the trunk. Her mom had volunteered to drive her, but there was so much to unpack, she'd figured it would just be easier to call a cab. Her family had just moved to Colorado for her dad's job, and she had been enrolled in Wingate. She put the strap of her duffel over the handle of her large rolling suitcase, and carried the other bag in her hand. She walked towards the library, eager and yet slightly apprehensive about the year to come.

Ashley sat and just vibed out to the beat for a while, but then realized that she had to be in her AFJROTC class in... she took a look at her cell phone... 40 minutes. Ashley got up to go to her car, a black Mitsubishi Eclipse, when something told her maybe she should talk to the girl at the other table, whom she'd seen around campus for years, but never had time to talk to between classes. Not wanting to upset her by disturbing her reading, she walked up slowly and said, nervously, "Uh, hi. My name's Ashley. Do you mind if I sit here with you?" gesturing the chair next to her. She held her breath, awaiting a response...

Jason meandered into the school and solemnly ffound his room. He unpacked his belongings, what few he had brought, to his likings and sat in a chair infront of his window. He had a journal on his lap and a pencil twirlling in his fingers. Every few moments he wrote down a couple lines and notes. The whole time he was lipping words and tapping his foot. He leaned back slightyl in the chair and looked at what he had done so far. It was beginning to take form....

Azalia pushed open the door of her dorm room, and threw her bags down. "Well, here we are," she said aloud to herself. She figured she'd unpack later, and that right now she'd just like to go talk to somebody. She went back down to the lobby to look for someone to talk to.
