I know this might have been better in the musician's forum. but people here are much more mature, and I think would be able to respond better. : )

So long story short, I kinda met a girl through gaia, off the musician's forum (hmm, another reason this is here: she won't see this! heh) Well, I haven't exactly met her yet, but we talked on the phone, and email. She lives a little bit away, but once I finish getting my license, that won't be much of a problem.

A friend of mine, who happens to be in his 50's or something, was telling me about how much the ladies love musicians. I disregarded that, because you hear it so often on TV, but I never seemed to see this for myself. All I see are the guys at school with their rock bands, and their little trash bag girlfriends.

You'd think that the kinds of musicians who get girls are the rockers who know 4 chords and scream into a mic. That's what seems to get them, right?

Never would I have thought that playing flute would have made me meet a girl like this. She took notice because I'm a guy who plays flute. That, I guess was something worth looking into, because she did.

Recently, she tried out for a jazz band at her highschool, but they didn't need another pianist. The director already knew how good she was on her flute from marching band, so he gave her a tenor sax, and told her he'd try to get her a chair with that next year.

^^; I, not wanting to waste the opportunity, offered to help her with her sax now, for next year. I hope I get to see her sometime soon. Even if its just under the excuse of sax tutoring.

This year, also, I played in the pit for the spring orchestra at school. Reeds 3 and 4 were professionals. Even more interesting, they were a married couple. The two of them play all the woodwinds, so they often play gigs together, because of their doubling skills, and the fact that they obviously work well together ^^;

I thought that was amazing, and I have no idea how great it could be to be able to share something like that with someone.

I have noticed the whole band people marrying band people. This is alot more prominent i've noticed in marchingband actually. Many a marchingband folk have met dated and married through band.
I met my first girlfriend in band and dated a trombone player from my highschool jazzband.

As for musicians getting the girl well its different but i guess it's kinda true. I've impressed alot of girls with my playing wether it be guitar drums or sax and clarinet. A friend of mine thats quite the Casanova commented on how sexy the saxophone is and that his ladyfriends love musicians.

How about you ladies here in the guild? Do you get the same thing with guys?

Oh and Ash_Rail keep talking to this girl sounds like something might come out of it.

You're right about the "white trash bag girls" going after "rock stars".

I thas been my experience that the kind of girls that go for (for the lack of anything else to call them/us) classical/jazz musicians tend to be much more mature, intelligent, ellegent, etc... They realize that being a serious musician is about more than just a party lifestyle and rock and roll. It's about feelings, dedication, love, skills, etc...

I've been in bands of all types all over the US. I've seen the kind of girls that rock bands attract and the kind of girls that orchestras and jazz bands attract. I much prefer the latter!

So far, I haven't attracted any ladies with my playing yet. Then again, I'm not that much of a looker either.

Plus I only play tenor for jazz. Everything else is bassoon. I don't think too many people are impressed by a bassoon.

Tenor sax has one of the most sexiest sounds in my opinion it's that fru fru sound.

First ladies response.

Well, a lot of girls do go for the four chord scream into the mic. The thing you need to know about those girls is that they're usually aren't musicians themselves. And really can't tell the difference.

Personally, a talented musician is pretty attractice. My first boyfriend was a very talented drummer, although none of it was rock. Celtic and marching band stuff. The second, a pianist as well. It really doesn't matter what instrument- I too know a male flute player that I would date in a flash. He plays bari sax too whee So: musical talent is attractive on any instrument.

Now back at you. Do you guys find musical talent attractive in the ladies?
